Dude, I was right there in the front row (in the God of War shirt). We had so much fun watching and cheering this guy on...and making him laugh. It was one of my favorite runs from the brief time I was there (could only afford to stay half the week).
I love the run itself so much. It’s just old school speed running. No manipulation of the games mechanics or glitching to skip, just a deep knowledge of the entire game and a ton of skill.
Same, the movie industry is so fucked it's understandable. Just superheros, cheap horror and remakes. Trash, nothing but trash so I watch community made content. It's made with passion.
Personally one of the most enjoyable AGDQ runs ever. Absolutely great commentary from the runner and couch, and this catagory shows off the whole game amazingly.
Having a guy actually ask questions for once make this so much better. A lot of runners just forget to explain certain things, or they over explain everything, but having a dude ask appropriate questions keeps the flow going, and you're never gonna have unanswered questions in your head.
I watched this run as it was live and watched it at least ten times since then. It always manages to put a smile on my lips when i need one. The runner, the couch, the host, the crowd, the game, everything is just perfect about this run~
This is one of the best runs I've seen. I love seeing the crowd being into it, especially for long runs as this. Another instance of the runner and donation reader having the right chemistry to keep the crowd engaged and enjoying it. Reminds me of MajinPhil and Paddy from last year.
This is a great run with a great runner and couch commentary. Byte is really entertaining, BT tells loads of information, and CovertMuffin as host is icing.
Best run I've ever seen! I gut laughed so many times during this - donation notes, couch, audience, and runner were just all on point. RIP AND TEAR!!!!!
Mad respect to the announcer. The energy he put into reading the donations made them fitting for a DOOM run of this caliber. The whole thing was flawless entertainment.
This was a 1am run?! Felt more like prime time to me! This run had it all: great gameplay, great commentary, great donations, and a great crowd! Think we’ll see a Doom Eternal run at SGDQ?
Considering there's 3 months between SGDQ and Eternal's release, and GDQ submissions are usually at least 2 months before the event, I think it's unlikely that we'll see a run in SGDQ. AGDQ 2021 is a pretty safe bet though!
Doom has that effect on people, it wasn’t the first shooter, but it practically made a new type of shooter, people get hyped when you even mention it, you could have it at anytime and this would be the reaction
The run was fantastic and amazing. But even better was all the support, the excited crowd, the excellent couch commentary and the sheer delight of the runner himself. This was so much fun to watch! RIP AND TEAR
Awesome run and awesome commentary. I really liked having somebody on the couch who's played casually but not as a speedrunner. He was asking all the questions I would have asked. Really smart idea.
The most fun speedrun to watch by far, Covertmuffin, Bryonato and Byteme were totally hilarious during all the run Can't wait for SGDQ to see an Eternal speedrun
Unfortunately he closed his YT channel, I loved watching his videos (mostly his Doom speedruns) and his Lives. When I tried to search for him, none of his videos appeared.
He just decided it was time to focus on family and he made the call to erase his online presence. That’s what I heard anyway. Didn’t seem sad, just bittersweet for the fans
I was like "I'm gonna watch this run dividing it in 3 days or something" but it was so much fun I just couldn't stop. Awesome run everyone, the public, the donations, the coach, everyone.
1:30:28 re-watching this in 2022 and this part is so funny, the POINT-AND-CLICK from the audience and the doom lovestory… just a great und highly entertaining run, big ups to everyone
This is legitimately one of my favorite runs of any GDQ I've watched. If I were there, I feel like I would have had to offer the "Point and Click, Oooh yeah!" dude lunch.
Still love this! I'm so glad I found this again. What a hype-train all the way through! Gotta hand it to everybody who was in this video that carried the energy throughout the entirety of the run. RIP AND TEAR!!!
Never thought there’d be a reason to watch events/speed runs like this BUT this is so entertaining and there’s so much hype the goes into it from the crowd, donos, and to the epic moments.. new fan inbound
Dude, made my last comment in complete ignorance, turns out there was quite a bit of demon-slaying here after all 🤘, so awesome to watch, what incredible skill on display, and the fact that you are doing it all live🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 (yes my brain exploded 5 times. fact.)
Watched this run a few times and it keeps lifting my spirit after a hard day at work. 😊 This one's epic! Huge fan of the runner and couch, huge fan of DOOOOOM!!
The best category to run in Doom 2016, the weapon swapping look so sick in this run. The couch did an excellent job as well the runner in entertaining everyone, and excellent run, one of my fav by far.
So, there is just SO much that goes into doing a speedrun like this, and I just, from my very limited understanding want to point out the "steps" required to do this 1. An almost inhuman amount of skill of aiming and movement precision 2. A complete memorization of every map 3. A complete memorization of every secret 4. A complete memorization of every powerup* 5. A complete memorization of every ammo and health pickup* 6. A complete memorization of every enemy spawning into the game at specific times.* 7. A complete memorization of the absolute fastest possible path between everything in point 2-5*. 8. All of the exploits and tricks offered by way of bugs and quirks in the game, depending on, but not limited to; 9. A better understanding of the physics of the game than the developers themselves had 10. A better understanding of the mechanics of the game than the developers themselves had. 11. *Some of this stuff is just random 12. An almost superhuman ability to respond to all this randomness. 13. An almost superhuman ability to respond to every tiny mistake that may throw of the run at any point.. 13. This is by no means a complete list of skills, and many of these specific tricks done could probably be written a book about, but lets take a minute to appreciate the dedication that goes into doing something like this run. it is so much more amazing than it looks. (and it looks amazing)
I love everything about this run, from the gameplay to the commentary to the crowd (ESPECIALLY the crowd). Definitely one of the most enthralling runs I've watched in a while. Three cheers for DOOOOOOOOOOM!
This is honestly just a bunch of guys shooting the shit with an amazing crowd that totally embraced it, joining in. This is probably one of the best runs I've seen at GDQ.
In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. He chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace. And with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. And those that tasted the bite of his sword named him...ByteMe
I've been told that the canon reason that Doomguy kills the demons is because they killed his pet bunny and he wants revenge. If that's not canon it needs to be.
I don't think its canon for this game, cause I believe this doom guy is a different one from the original games, but it is *100%* the canon reason for all the slaying in the first 3.

You forgot one:
most epic gun-cocking in video game history at 05:11 ;)
The dude asking questions was so helpful to understand the tech behind this run. Shout out to him.
That's Bryonato, he also played at agdq, watch his Control run, it's entertaining as hell. He also runs Titanfall 2. DOOOOOOOOOOOOM
I agree, it's always nice to have someone on the couch asking questions rather then some of the runs where most of the time their pretty quiet.
Dude! Have a casual player on every couch. This. Needs to be.
That was me :) thanks dude
Big agree to having casuals [to that game] on the couch.
My god. The crowd, the couch and the donations. This runs is priceless.
1:18:35 POINT AND CLICK, YOU WIN!

The Doom community has just been so consistently cool for so long.

Me: I struggle to watch movies and shows, I have a hard time getting into them
Also me: watching a Doom 2016 100% speedrun on Nightmare
Same goes for me,I would rather watch a stream, let's play or speedrun than watch a movie.
that was more entertainment and enjoyable than long movie
Genuinely the most precise and relatable statement I read all week.
Same, the movie industry is so fucked it's understandable. Just superheros, cheap horror and remakes. Trash, nothing but trash so I watch community made content. It's made with passion.
How can you struggle to see a show or a movie?
Love this streamer's energy.
"Where's the last demon? I've got a present for him! OH NO HE'S GOT A PRESENT FOR ME TOO! I DON'T WANT IT!"

TBH I think that everyone run should have a guy like that asking those questions. Makes the whole thing a lot more approachable and interesting
Loved the run, the energy, the couch, the crowd, and the runner. This has to be one of the most of the entertaining runs this year
You should check out the terraria run lol definitely a huge change of pace, but the run and runner is hilariously amazing
And the donations
I loved the new Fallout Anthology run, suuuper entertaining.
This has been the most satisfying, brutal, metal and greatest run I've ever watched since GDQ2015.
You know I actually really appreciate Bryonatos questions, he knows enough about a game he doesnt run to be able to ask good questions.
Also DOOOOOOOM
Thanks dude :)
“I did a run where I alt+f4’d out of it, nobody liked that.” This sounds like exactly the kind of crap I do 😂😂😂
This is by far the best speed run I've ever watched! Great game, great runner, a couch that is awesome, a wonderful audience - everything is rad.
Dude, I loved being in the audience for this run! Front row, late night...fun with a bunch of awesome peeps!
1:47:58 the cyberdemon just phases in to check on Byteme and decides to wait for a better time.
He seems so nonchalant when speed running what a beast!
Like a walk among the tombstone.

What a run. Massive respect to the runner.
Love Brynato with all the great beginning questions on the couch
The best part about DOOM speedruns is DOOM humor during DOOM speedruns
Point and click, rip and tear!!!
Man, I love a speedrun with a Curiosity Guy on the couch asking neat questions about the craft
This was a 1am run?! Felt more like prime time to me! This run had it all: great gameplay, great commentary, great donations, and a great crowd!

IT JUST CAME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!
i hope
And it is in SGDQ this year, as expected.

Any idea what happened
??
He just decided it was time to focus on family and he made the call to erase his online presence. That’s what I heard anyway. Didn’t seem sad, just bittersweet for the fans
This is Epic. Many positive vibes from these guys...
Blood thunder has to be one of the coolest names I’ve ever heard
Jarrad Lewis pretty sure it’s a reference
To Blood and thunder by Mastodon
He calls his daughter popcorn.... That's so freaking wholesome. Loved the run!
This is how I imagine the Doom Slayer fights.
Bryonato, thank you very much. Having someone on couch asking "noob questions" definitely improved this run.
This runner is easily one of the most entertaining of the event. Love to see it!
1:18:35 POINT-AND-CLICK OOOOH YEAH!
That line and delivery is hilarious.
Byte to Random Audience: I love you.
I actually did 100% nightmare. Took me like 10 times as long, this is amazing.

This will be forever known as a best live speedrun in a history.
What a fantastic run.
DOOM Eternal can't come soon enough.
This game is an absolute blast on nightmare. You don't realise how vital movement is until you stop for a moment and immediately get obliterated.
This is legitimately one of my favorite runs of any GDQ I've watched. If I were there, I feel like I would have had to offer the "Point and Click, Oooh yeah!" dude lunch.
This is peak GDQ. Runner commentary, couch commentary, quality audience. Everyone is having a great time raising money for a good cause.
Ahhhh just the thing I needed to get hyped for doom eternal. Being reminded how mediocre I am at doom 2016.
Genuinely my favorite GDQ run just because of the donations and the crowd. So good!
57:15 Just incredible. Might be the most thrilling part of a thrilling run. Well done!
This is the most entertaining run I've ever watched. Thanks and congrats to all involved, Byteme you rock man.
I didn't get to watch much of this year's stream live, but caught this one. The room was so hype and very fun! Great run and good energy.
Still love this! I'm so glad I found this again. What a hype-train all the way through! Gotta hand it to everybody who was in this video that carried the energy throughout the entirety of the run.
RIP AND TEAR!!!
Every time I saw the Ardent spheres all I could hear was "OOOOORRRRRBBBBB!!!"

Not only did I watch an amazing speedrun, but I learned about ESDF and my mind is blown. It's like a light switch turned on and won't go off.
YES , i loved watching this , because this is how i imagine doom guy actually fights.
One of the best runs I have ever seen. So much fun through all the stages of the game. RIP AND TEAR!!!

There were some great runs for this marathon but this DOOM run was the best run of AGDQ 2020. Excellent work. Just outstanding.
I love everything about this run, from the gameplay to the commentary to the crowd (ESPECIALLY the crowd). Definitely one of the most enthralling runs I've watched in a while. Three cheers for DOOOOOOOOOOM!

Love this run and much Love to this Great GDQ Project❤️
Doom has been my favourite franchise since I was a kid, and I’ve played this game so many times. What the hell did I just watch!?
Now THAT'S what I call an amazing crowd.
This is the run that i needed
The runner is awesome! Love that he always gives shoutouts to everyone else
Very cool
So much passion and knowledge about the game and a great personality makes for an enjoyable viewing experience
Fantastic. One of the best GDQ runs of all time.
Thanks for your great job !
Still realy appreciate GDQ after many years !
Much love from Switzerland
great run! also thx bryonato for asking all those questions, the others seemed to forget to explain some stuff :D
Gotta love the fact that this is one of the most wholesome runs ever on an otherwise violent game haha that's the power of DOOOOOOOOOM for ya!
One of the bests Doom speedrun with awesome crowd and staff making it very pleasant to watch.
This is honestly just a bunch of guys shooting the shit with an amazing crowd that totally embraced it, joining in. This is probably one of the best runs I've seen at GDQ.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this run over quarantine. Thank you GDQ for all these. I’m not even a Speed runner

Best run at AGDQ i've seen!
This dude should be invited back to all the GDQs. Great charisma, gameplay, pretty much the whole package.
Best run so far!
This guy is a legend
This was the best GDQ I have watched Amazing crowd awesome couch awesome game awesome 3 hrs spent
I don't know how many tiems I've watched this run. I love everything about it.
This is the best run I've ever watched. Humour and Gameplay are amazing
shoutouts to the crowd, they made this run even better
love the energy of everyone involved.
Also the runner responding to most of the messages is relly wholesome imho
That was so freaking entertaining. ByteMe is so fun to watch play.
The best runs are those where everyone is having fun. This was the bestest run.
Oh wow this has to be my favorite speedrunner yet
So far this is the most satisfying run I've ever seen, Great Job!

Brenden Pearson ITS CANON NOW
@@YaBoiUsername Doomguy doesn't know about his pet though until the end of E3.
Love how quickly he slays the bosses. Just like the Doom Slayer would.
Listen to the runner's monologue at 18:50 .
That's genuine passion and excitement.
This is why we play video games -- that feeling right there.
This deserves so much more love, this was amazing to watch through
Doom is one of the few games where one can continuously read donations because the action just never stops
This was one or the best speed runs I watched the runner and help from the couch in audience was fantastic
This is one of my favorite GDQ speedruns ever.
