7:28 It’s worth noting that not only is housing *not cheap* (& affordable housing is very rare at the moment) but employers are *super cheap* in that worker wages and benefits in Bluffton do not match the cost of living. Because there are many unemployed/retired, many businesses are increasingly short staffed & with short hours. That’s what I wish I knew before coming here from the northeast.

@@HeartoftheLowcountryHomes No problem! I just moved by Old Town from the Bronx & still learning more and more about my new home community. Luckily, I came with remote work, but transitioning to in person work here has sure been a challenge!

Are there truly that many festivals? I live on long island now and one of the things me and my family want more than anything are the festivals. While we did buy our home already down there is there really that many festivals?

You have good info, but too many of those filler bits in your videos. You don't need them every 2 seconds.

That was a fair video. People, taxes make a big difference on what you can afford compared to the Northeast or CA or any liberal state. Understand the over all cost of ownership of a house in Bluffton or the area in general.

Moving to Beaufort county is a bad decision based on what climatologist have predicted.

You totally ignored that flooding is an issue in the low country and hurricanes can be as well. Look at how long Hilton Head took to recover. It was years.

Hi Barbara! Thank you for watching and your feedback. You are correct, however it’s no myth that hurricanes and flooding is a risk in any coastal area. For that reason some prefer coming inland to Bluffton and even into Jasper County where you are more likely to find areas that may not be in flood zones, while still having access to the beautiful waters of HHI, Beaufort and surrounding. Your point is well taken however, it's certainly a consideration while living on any coast ( I even remember the damage Sandy did in NY/NJ). While I can't agree that I ignored it, as it honestly just didn't fit the video theme, I am sure will be covered in others. Individuals must weigh cost vs benefits for sure. It's a risk many are willing to take in order to live in paradise. I also understand this area has also fared pretty well in comparison to other places. Thanks for your input and watching, I do appreciate it! - Donna

Your right on this is a bad place to settle long term according to climatologist.all the climatic risk factors put this place at number one worst place to live when it comes to global warming.

@@elihubildad6677 thanks for watching! Please watch my video here that addresses risk factors according to FEMA indexes for this area. This area indexes lower than many other coastal sections. (see video clip ua-cam.com/video/ayJfkjKSjAk/v-deo.html) I also put the link to this fema map here as well : hazards.fema.gov/nri/map Your concern of global warming being a reason not to live here is interesting to me. Would you kindly provide your source that states that Bluffton, SC specifically is a number one worse place to settle due to "global warming"?
