L❤ve Palm Bay! If you are a very tranquil person, retired, and do not like noises and noisy people, this is a good place to live.
@@irismar8139 Thank you for sharing your perspective, Irismar! It’s great to hear that Palm Bay offers the peace and tranquility you enjoy. It’s always helpful to highlight the positive aspects that make a place special for its residents.
I'm a Real Estate Investor of 24 years. I regret flipping a house in Palm Bay/Melbourne. Never lived in a boring place like this one. I'm dropping 35k on the flip even If I lose. I'm done with this place. 11 months here and it feels like 11 years.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry to hear the market and area didn’t meet your expectations. Real estate investing can definitely be unpredictable, especially with different local dynamics. Palm Bay does have a slower pace that may not fit everyone’s style, but it’s been a good opportunity for others who prioritize affordability and outdoor living. Hopefully, your next investment is a smoother and more rewarding one!
I have lived in Florida most my life and I recently moved to Palm Bay from Port St Lucie because I was buying a new house and you can get a brand new house here for half the price you can get a used one for in Port St lucie. That's about the best thing I have to say about Palm Bay is cheap houses and unfortunately there's not a ton of people here yet aside from that it does seem gloomy a lot and maybe it's just because of that time of year but there's also not much to do and I actually never thought I would say this but I miss Port St Lucie
@@jasonphillips6094 Thank you for sharing your experience, Jason. It’s true that Palm Bay offers incredible value when it comes to housing, and it’s a big draw for many people. The slower pace and quieter environment here can feel different, especially if you’re used to a busier area like Port St. Lucie.
I’d love to hear more about what you miss most-whether it’s the amenities, social scene, or something else. Palm Bay is growing quickly, and new developments are happening all the time, so hopefully, some of those changes will bring more of what you’re looking for! Let me know if I can help point you toward anything in the area that might make it feel more like home.
We just need more entertainment options for adults. Plenty of family adventures. Its cool here. Love the super mild winters.
@@thesmokingscott I agree. There are some things on the way, in nearby towns. But it will be interesting to see what future plans Palm Bay executes in the next 5 years.
(That may be a video idea. 😉)

Thank you! I’m happy you found this helpful!
Since 1992, I have live here in Melbourne, Fl. and i like it. it's better down here in the south, then the north dealing with all the snow, ice, and freezing tempartures!
Thanks for sharing, Bonnie! It’s great to hear that you’ve enjoyed living in Melbourne since 1992. The warmer weather and lack of snow and ice definitely make Florida a popular choice for many! What’s your favorite thing about living in the area?
@@steventhomastherealtor I like the palm trees, because you don't see them up north in New England.
@ Palm trees are definitely one of the perks of living here! They really give the area that tropical vibe you don’t get up north. Thanks for sharing, Bonnie-it’s always nice to hear what others love about the area!
Those pesty bugs in the south is unbearable. The humidity is not good and limited things to do. The south can be boring.
This is such an informative video! I really appreciate the highlight on public transportation! Very nice video sir 👍🏼
@@user-of5ob1iv1e I’m glad you liked it!
I’m a true Floridian, and I have lived in Palm Bay all my life, but you forgot to say that Palm Bay has bobcats, a lot of raccoons, and possums. But Palm Bay was ranked in the top ten in the nation for meth labs and was ranked second in the nation for alcohol sales.
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Johnnie! It’s always great to hear from someone with firsthand experience in Palm Bay. I focused on key highlights and challenges in the video, but I appreciate you adding these details to the conversation. Every area has its pros and cons, and it’s always helpful to have a variety of viewpoints for those considering a move. Thanks for watching!
i love those raccoons and bobcats and possums are a delight. gotta have fresh garlic
😮
What! That's too much for me.
And, all the drinkers drive drunk in P.B.
I lived in Palm Bay 10yr ago. Moved back home to Alabama. Worked at Holmes Regional and Life Care Center, Palm Bay in nursing. I lived on Gisinger Court near the park. Very nice city, thought about moving back. LoL. Nice video. PEACE!
Hi Lolo,
Thank you so much for your kind words about my video-I’m glad you enjoyed it! It sounds like you have some great memories of Palm Bay. Gisinger Court and the park are such nice spots! If you’re ever serious about moving back, I’d love to help you find the perfect place. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the area, feel free to reach out.
Wishing you all the best-PEACE!
@@steventhomastherealtor Thank You! PEACE!
Holmes is a beast
I worked there 2006-2013 Oncology with awesome group, think most gone or retired now.[PEACE!
No sidewalks to walk or bike on unless you are in an HOA speeding cars everywhere. Tons of traffic. Car wrecks and high car insurance and high property taxes. Homes are cheaper here. you can get homesteading for 25,000 per person which helps to lower property taxes. Hurricanes seem to zip right by but we did get some hail. The weather changes on a dime. 6 mos of hot weather at least. Noseeums, mosquito's and love bugs. We bought on a retention pond which is pretty. Frogs turtles snakes alligators and walking catfish. But beautiful birds in all shapes and colors. No downtown which we really need. Very few choices of good eating places. We moved here 3 yrs ago and I'd move In a second if it weren't for my neighbors which are like family. The medical groups and Doctors seem to come and go quite frequently. Engineering and aerospace is big here and medical field pays low here. This is my opinion. We are a red state with the best Governor.
@@Lisaloowhoo Hi Lisa,
Thank you for sharing such a detailed perspective on Palm Bay! It sounds like you’ve experienced both the challenges and the unique aspects of living there. Your observations about the wildlife, retention ponds, and community feel with your neighbors really paint a vivid picture.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your opinion-it helps add depth to the conversation about what it’s really like to live in the area. If there’s anything you’d like to see discussed more, let me know!
Very accurate description, but a great place id say, overall, getting more built up ,
I moved here a year ago and it was a bad decision. I mean I called it corny town cause it is literally nothing to do and it’s too much and it’s too many animal.
Sorry to hear that your experience in Palm Bay hasn’t been positive! While it’s true that the pace here can feel slower, many residents enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and beach trips nearby. I’d love to hear what you’re looking for in a community-maybe I can suggest some hidden gems or activities that could better match your interests!

Yeah, NY during the summer is no joke.
Especially NYC with all that concrete everywhere.

I'm really upset what Palm Bay is becoming. I moved here because it was more rural. Bought an older house that was surrounded by woods, now new houses. Woods are being torn down every day and these cookie cutter "McMansions" going up on a daily basis, those or car washes and storage facilities. Utilities have sky rocketed, as well as ins and taxes.don't forget that!
@@zsigzsag Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I can completely understand how changes like these can feel frustrating, especially when the reasons you chose to live in an area start to shift. The rapid development in Palm Bay has been a hot topic for many, and it’s clear that balancing growth with preserving natural spaces is a challenge.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective-it’s an important part of understanding how the community is evolving. If you’d like to discuss this further or share more about your experiences, feel free to reach out.

@@steventhomastherealtor I was born in Miami in the 1950s, have lived all over Dade and Broward counties. In just my lifetime have seen these areas completely paved over right up to the Everglades. Congestion/density is rampant down there. In less than 10 years Brevard will be the same, gaining on these counties at warp speed! Conservation of wildlife/habitats does not stand a chance. Didn't the governor try to tear apart state parks to put in golf resorts recently? Don't get me started on "golf/golfers". They are far worse than many of the invasives you didn't mention. From reptiles, down to insects including flora and the like, we got them all.
This is truth
Thank you for the video
You’re very welcome, Melissa! I’m glad you found the video helpful. If you have any questions or need more information about Palm Bay (or any other area), feel free to reach out. Thanks for watching!
I moved here from Broward county. I hate living here. It sucks. Unfortunately, I live with my daughter and don't have the means to move. The lack of public transit sucks. Your police department is full of incompetent morons. One neighbor has a goat and a vicious pitbull. Both of which end up on our lawn. The cops refused to do anything until our next door neighbor was trapped on top of his mail box. There are no decent doctors. Your two local hospitals are useless. Like I said, I hate palm bay.
Hi Sherry,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry to hear about the challenges you’ve faced in Palm Bay-it sounds like you’ve had a tough time adjusting. While every city has its pros and cons, I understand that finding the right community for your needs is so important.

Heat index generally runs over the 100 degree mark with 115 heat index as the high mark… at least the last two summers hit that mark. I live in Palm Bay. As one person said to me recently. Palm Bay where you can sweat in the shower.
These past couple summers have been very brutal. In reality “ Palm Bay is where you can sweat in the AC”. 😂
You are forgetting bobcats, raccoons and possums too.
What's the problem with those animals? They are indigenous to this area. Never had a problem with them. There are also armadillos, rabbits, deer, moles, wild boar, ect. Once in a while the FL Panther will come into coastal areas seen them a few times. Gators and crocs, yes we have them too, the American crocodile. I'm a native of FL lived among these animals all my life never a problem. You do have to be very careful around any body of water, they move especially during mating season and can climb fences.
Nice video

The Mayor there just appointed a former city councilman who was arrested for cocaine to the planning and zoning board after he was ousted. 😮
Wow, that’s definitely concerning if true. I understand how situations like this can impact trust in local leadership. Hopefully, the community can push for transparency and stronger accountability moving forward. I’d be curious to hear what actions residents think should be taken to address issues like this.
The bass pro has live alligators, and some really big ones too.
@@jasonudchitz302 That’s so true! The live alligators at Bass Pro definitely add a unique touch. It’s one of those unexpected things that make Palm Bay stand out! Have you been there recently to check them out?
@@steventhomastherealtor i'm up that way, a couple of times a month. As of late, i've been going to malabar.
Most of Palm Bay is the development called Port Malabar. A classic automobile-dependent neighborhood.
Great observation, Jim! Port Malabar does make up a significant portion of Palm Bay and is definitely designed with cars in mind. While it’s true that many areas in Palm Bay rely on driving, the city’s layout and affordability continue to attract new residents. Do you think automobile-dependence impacts the overall appeal of the area? I’d love to hear your perspective!
Do most homes in Palm Bay have septic tanks?
@@haroldbottom3474 most homes here are septic. There are roughly 32,000 homes with it here. The city is working to expand the sewer system to minimize the amount of septics used in Palm Bay.

I purchase a home in Palm Bay and sold it too quiet for me. My opinion a nice place for family, not for singles.
Thanks for sharing your experience! Palm Bay definitely has a quieter, family-friendly atmosphere that appeals to many, but I can see how it might feel too calm for singles. Are there certain things you think would make it a better fit for single residents?

Palm Bay will be the new Port St Lucie in 5 years. It will be overdeveloped with new construction homes and lots of traffic. Port St Lucie is almost full, brace yourself Palm Bay, you are next for the chaos.
@@Destined8153 Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Palm Bay is definitely growing quickly, and with growth comes both opportunities and challenges. New developments can mean more housing options and amenities for residents, but managing traffic and preserving the community’s charm will be key. What do you think could be done to keep the growth sustainable?
@steventhomastherealtor Nothing can be done. More than likely developers have already bought the empty land and is waiting for the right time to take over. It is a disaster in Port St Lucie now and the infrastructure is not keeping up with the growth that is happening. Not enough doctors, the roads are filled with people, traffic is crazy and crime is up.The commisoners say there is nothing they can do because the land was sold 20 years ago to developers. I had my eye on Palm Bay, but after hearing that this city has come in #2 in Florida for the most sought out places in 2024, I know that it's just a disaster waiting to happen. I can say I am happy that Port St Lucie has dropped to #9 on the list. Good for you as a realtor because it's more sales for you.
@ Thank you for sharing your perspective. Growth and development definitely come with challenges, and it’s true that infrastructure often struggles to keep up in rapidly growing areas like Port St. Lucie. Palm Bay is also experiencing increased interest, which brings both opportunities and potential concerns.
As a Realtor, I try to stay informed about these trends so I can help clients make the best decisions for their needs and goals. When is the multicultural festival and where are the farmers markets???
Ps…The traffic is horrible here!
@@margievalles4241 Thanks for your comment! The multicultural festival in Palm Bay typically happens at different times throughout the year, often hosted by the City of Palm Bay or community organizations-I’ll look into the exact dates for the next one. For farmers markets, you’ll find great ones like the Palm Bay Farmers Market, often held on weekends. As for the traffic-you’re not alone in feeling that way! It can be challenging at times, but I’m hopeful improvements are on the way. Let me know if you’d like more details on any of these!
I had a taste of Florida I'm a first impression person, and the human population is what makes Florida a h--l hole. The weather is not a fake society of people I've traveled this plant 4 times, and getting ready for number 5 Florida is the worst place for human population in such a beautiful place.... SAD

Thanks for sharing your perspective, Myron. I can understand how first impressions play a big role in forming opinions about a place. Florida, and specifically Palm Bay, can be a very polarizing area-some love it for the weather and lifestyle, while others struggle with different aspects. It would be interesting to hear more about what specifically shaped your experience and what you think could improve the area. Thanks for watching the video and contributing to the conversation!

I lived in Palm Bay for 2 years and I can say it is very BORING. The only redeeming quality is that its not far from the beach. If your single your chances of finding love is slim to none but that is Brevard county in general.
@@stillwaters4097 Thanks for sharing your perspective! Palm Bay does have a quieter vibe, which might not be for everyone, but its proximity to the beach is definitely a great perk. Brevard County is growing, and new developments are popping up that could bring more activities and opportunities for residents. What kinds of things would you have liked to see more of while you were here?
Youve left out a lot. I've lived all over the world and in different states. Everywhere I've lived, except for Colorado, put education of the children as #1 priority. Palm Bay education is terrible and one of our highschools is listed in the top 10 worst highschools in florida. , I see listen to the school board and realize they are more for the governor agenda than improving the education of our children. They spent way too much time on sexual agenda spread by a governor. Another big problem is the attitude of the population. Ive also found that the elderly men are arrogant and extremely rude. They hate life, kids, Hispanics, blacks, and anything with 2 wheel and 4 wheel vehicles .
