Good video, my opinion is South Carolina sucks so hard I strongly suggest you look elsewhere, especially if you are of color... Every political figure is laughable corrupt, both black and white races still segregate, yes blacks... Look up national pan hellenic society aka BOULE... If anyone wants to debate me on this I have currently 5 federal lawsuits from civil rights infringements by the state agencies, I come from California so I'm not down with the good old boy systemic bullish.... If you white, you already have it good so why go to south carolina, it's like wasting your whiteness 😂 And humidity and bird size mosquitos are definitely not good things.. Do not come to south carolina, move to north carolina it's better there...
@nick Johnson why ask questions to the guy who hasn't been in South Carolina long enough to even go into detail(s) about the basic questions that you're asking? A "native" would have been more suggestible. He keeps saying "they"..."they"... "they"... and "I think."
HaHaHa! I'm a native Charlestonian, and back in the 80s there was a Georgian comedian that had this same concept in his monologue. My favorite of his is: "If you don't like how we do things down here, and you moved here from the North, then Delta is ready when you are." I said that to one of my co-workers, who every other word out of his mouth was 'back in ..., we did it this way'. He got mad at me and reported me. I told him that we don't like northerners telling us how to do things down here, and if you disliked where you lived before, then why did you move out of there and compare everything to your old hometown? We became friends after a time.
Lol when they move here and challenge the status quo, we end up looking like your California videos. They can call us backwards if they want but we don't look like California.
I was born in Summerville SC and received my education from the University of South Carolina. After graduating, I could never find a job in Columbia because I had no family heritage for the job. It became a place to work based on whom you knew. I was able to get jobs based on corporate ownership, When I was 46, I finally moved to North Carolina. Although I was born in SC, I never felt that I fit in. I finally made it to Winston Salem where I have retired. I discovered that there are community bands and orchestras here that I never found in South Carolina. I picked up my clarinet and saxophone and participated. I have felt more welcome here. To live in a place that makes you unwelcome is truly against the spirit in which this country was founded.
@@mikef2813 I do feel for her or him that made this post, kind of bad, I guess. but your comment says a lot and makes a lot of sense. bc if, specifically an adult , feels like they dont fit in, thats more of a personal maybe even interpersonal issue. its not the state, its like a paranoid thing. unless that person did something that would cause some sort of baggage that he couldnt socially play his instrument (ha!) , then theres no reason to move. ooo! and I just noticed that his last sentence reads that "to live in a place that makes you unwelcome ..etc" which clearly means there must have been a reason, an action, something that the community or "a place" as he put it made him unwelcome. instruments dont make you feel unwelcome . his or her behavior was unwelcomed
the thing about not being able to find a job bc you "had no family heritage for the job." what company didnt hire you that you think you didnt have family heritage for that specific job? im respectfully asking that is not at all rhetorical. im asking that bc Columbia SC (which you were looking for a job after graduating) is not known for old money and there are concert halls there and orchestra performing arts centers that welcome musical coaches and brass instrument players. especially recent graduates of USC. Columbia's Chamber of Commerce is FULL of business owners that own successful businesses that specialize in instrument sales and rentals. And if sales isnt really your thing, many members of the chamber can point you in the right direction. PLUS most of them are USC graduates. This information is easy to find. btw, everyone has a family heritage. unless youre a lab born baby (which is not common, but some ppl actually are born from blank cells and eggs in a lab , ) Columbia is renown for being a melting pot of all folks , from all different countries, almost maybe even more, students, even students without a college education after a USC graduation, you'd be hard pressed to run into someone you know, unless its a bar, five points *maybe.* but not someone that knows your baggage and is hiring. being a USC graduate plus in Cola as far as interviewing and looking for a career, would help you bc youre likely being interviewed by a USC alumni that talks about USC and asks things like "oh! does Professor Jones still teach over there?" K, so in a nutshell, youre lying. you dont have to have someone that knows your family to get a job interview in Cola unless its a family run business that keeps the place run by their family only, like a generational thing. you cant tell me that the Columbia Department of Transportation (just an example ) only hires people that have well known families, I mean "family heritages " Wells Fargo, Richland County Government, McDonalds. Most if not all of my dear friends knew that you cant be picky and we all knew that its very difficult to get your dream job immediately after college graduation . any job will do while actively applying for the career that you really want. dont blame SC for not getting hired by companies that aren't interested in your clarinet and saxophone talents. dont tell us a story that doesnt explain the whole truth. when you mentioned "not having a family Heritage for a "specific job" total red flag. Columbia is not a "who you know" city. and whats with the "jobs based on corporate ownership?" what does that even mean? You were able to get jobs based on you owning a corporation?! what was your major? and you did get "jobs" in Cola, according to you. So why are you saying you couldnt get a job and then say you did get jobs. waiting until 46 to move bc SC makes you feel "unwelcome " is unnerving to SC natives. If SC, particularly , our capital city is that bad, why did you continue to stay there? If 134, 100 people made you feel unwelcome, its not them, its you.
Thank you for the Beatdown , Really keep up the great work turning people off from making South Carolina a choice , alot of us don't want any more rude people moving in here .

It's funny. The DNC ran this state with an iron fist for almost two full centuries. They were the one's that got our state ,burned to the ground and shunned for most of it. The Republicans suck too {they ordered the burning} but their control (at present) is why we have clawed our way back from that. Worth noting, as well: In the last year we had two cities under curfew* and that wasn't for very long. Six fires ,six arson convictions...that's all the trouble we have had. *Charleston and Columbia.
@@sharkparty1027 Like I said. The DNC got run out of control ,so ...no. I ,will, say this: The nation would be better off had conditions following the war been such that ,when kids in other countries learn (their) history, they talk about the "mysterious rope shortage of 1866-1870". Then we wouldn't have had so much trouble with DemoKKKrats burning crosses on lawns and telling folks, for whom to vote.
@@schrodingersgat4344 You are right. Southern Democrats were the party of slavery and the KKK. They threw the monkey wrench into civil rights after Reconstruction. MLK was a Republican. Now the Democratic Party either run the slums or create them. Permanent poverty is their power base. They’ve set race relations back 50 years. My kids are mixed. It didn’t used to be a big deal. The Democratic Party ruined my native state of California. It’s now a filthy, corrupt hellhole. That being said, I don’t think a lot of Republican politicians either. Sen. The city has put tens of millions into the streets and buildings to bring people back, and they have done an awesome job! If anyone is in Upstate SC, you have to visit Greenville!
Many of us South Carlinians wish there was less crime. There's alot of jobs here for skilled workers if living a few percent above poverty is ideal. This state will always have potential. How can you say the the people here don't care about bettering themselves and are content to live in poverty. That is totally absurd and not true. I thought this video was going to be a tribute to SC. Instead it was a slam on our great state and very derogatory. If SC is so bad why are people moving here in droves. As a Spartanburg native and long time resident I would say that Spartanburg has areas that are best to avoid at night but overall the city is quite safe. Several developments are underway downtown that are expected to contribute to a revitalization of the area. These include a new baseball stadium which is the largest development in the city’s history and a planetarium at the public library headquarters. Spartanburg is home to 7 colleges and universities and the SC School for the Deaf and Blind. The city has as expanding network of walking/biking trails and plans for a new 945 acre park/nature preserve just southeast of the city are underway. The oldest European relic found in SC, the Pardo stone, from Spanish exploration in 1567, was found in Spartanburg County in 1935. Spartanburg is the only city in SC that belongs to GARE, Government Alliance for Racial Equity.
I grew up just across the state line in N.C. . I worked with a lot of people from S.C. from the dillion area. A.lot of the women would have tears in their eyes as they described the condition of the schools there. The books their kids would get the beginning of the year were old and falling apart. They'd have to glue books back together. They still had steam heat, a lot of broken windows, mold was a problem. The issues were long.
Strange comment. I went to Dillon Elementary School and finished my education with 2 undergraduate degrees and 2 graduate degrees. I have a very comfortable six figure income. The schools there did me not harm at all.

l have traveled to 31 States and South Carolina has nothing to envy any of them where it comes to beauty, variety and climate, especially in the upstate. We have the lakes, beaches, southern plains and mountains. The people are generally very friendly and the State has MANY clean and picturesque little towns as well as prosperous growing metro areas.
Growing up in NJ, I can attest more taxes funding education does NOT mean better schools. Heck, I've compared rural & suburban middle class NJ schools in Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Camden, Atlantic, Burlington, & Cape May counties in NJ, to (SC schools near Charlotte) Fort Mill, Clover, Rock Hill, Indian Land, Lewisville & (SC schools near Myrtle Beach) of Carolina Forest, St. James, Waccamaw, Aynor, Socastee, Green Sea, North MB, & MB. Many of these South Carolina school districts are equal to or far exceed the schools in NJ that are soaking taxpayers. Heck, the schools in Fort Mill, SC are Nationally Ranked & people are falling over themselves to move into FM as a middle class town in large part because of the schools. With only Charlotte metro magnet schools & the most affluent pockets of the Charlotte metro having higher rankings. When it comes to quality public schools it's 1/4 engaged parents, 1/4 engaged teachers, 1/4 tax revenue collected, & 1/4 HOW EFFICIENTLY that tax rev was spent. Time & time again it's been shown that the poorer the community the less parent engagement (usually because of work or family situations), the less parent engagement the lower teacher engagement as they get burned out, also poor communities usually don't have a good tax rev base to draw from, then you have the normal wildly inefficient use of the funds common in public schools. Sadly poor communities usually have issues in all four areas.
@@jgrysiak6566Bullshit, OP picked out the lowest income counties in NJ. We have among the best schools in the country, a highly educated and high income population. Maybe if you paid teachers more your schools wouldn’t be garbage.

I was raised in the lowcountry (Colleton County) and currently live in Rock Hill. This video is 100 percent accurate. Living in the rural lowcountry vs living in Rock Hill near Charlotte is like night and day. In most towns in SC (with the exception of the larger cities), everything is closed after 9 or 10pm. No night life outside of a restaurant bar here or there. Growing up in rural Colleton county, the closest gas station near our home was 7 miles away. Most people who live in rural SC, especially the lowcountry….the family has definitely been there for generations as stated in this video. Most of the people who dislike this video are the older ones stuck in their old ways.

Idk.....I've lived in Ladson for 3 years and I'm stunned at the economic opportunities here. When I got here, Boeing, Mercedes Benz, Volvo and many others were hiring. Construction jobs still go begging and of course retail & hospitality can't hire fast enough. Apartment developments (with pools and other amenities) are springing up everywhere. This place is booming. As far as education is concerned, your opportunities are what you make of them. There are magnet schools, charter schools and private schools that aren't expensive. The suburban public schools are doing well. Urban schools.....not so much and the funding formula is the same for both (no property taxes here). As far as the politics changing.....Jaime Harrison got trounced and most of his money came from out of state.

An ongoing part of the education problem is that SC has one of the lowest property tax rates in the country and that's where schools primarily get their funding 😐
There is also the South Carolina education lottery, which apparently is being misused by politicians. There should be plenty of money for k thru 12th grades from that fund alone. One more thing.....not all kids belong in college and with more manufacturing businesses opening up here from the north and overseas, South Carolina should format vocational high schools for learning a trade as an alternative to college.

Uh-huh. Resident interviews are entertaining and interesting. Those two were great. I went to Ft. Jackson back in the late eighties. South Carolina. Where 45 degrees Fahrenheit is considered too cold for (Army) PT. True story.
As a native South Carolinian, you will find central SC to be one the most attractive places to live. West of Columbia, is Lexington and northwest of Columbia is Irmo-Chapin where the highest ranked schools in the south are. Lake Murray if you have the money to purchase land on the lake is where the elite live. It is not the upstate or Charleston that has the best living. Central SC west of Columbia is where it is. But here is the think. We don't want more people moving into this area. It is building so fast our roads can't keep up. Stay where you are. Do not move the Lexington or Chapin. We don't want you and especially if you are a damn democrat voter.
I appreciate this video bringing light to some real issues in my area. (Pee Dee resident here) I do take issue with a couple of statements. 1. Voting republican vs democrat would have some meaningful change but it doesn't. A lot of us that are working adults that grew up skew more libertarian vs. partisan 2. School funding would improve educational outcomes? You approach issues in a lot of the video about residual effects of parents choices to the next generation. I think this is the dominant force. One of your interviews speaks to this because just do whatever to get by (government programs) thus setting a low bar for themselves. I want to break that mindset as much as anyone. Financial education is much needed here. Check cashing/title loans/pawn shops per capita is crazy
I am a Masshole. I've never even been to South Carolina. I still request that if you vote, sadly like most Massachusetts natives, you shouldn't vote down there. Progressive policies are cancer to decent society.
Greenville has the prettiest downtown I've ever seen. I was surprised the first time we drove over there. It's really gorgeous. Too many people have moved to the Southeast, and it's been ruined. When a place is overrun with people then it's not nice anymore. Our state of Tennessee has been ruined. Too late now. Word "leaked" out and it's all over but the shouting
So my husband said… We could go to South Carolina open up a barbecue stand and sell Mountain Dew and Marboro’s and ride a motorcycle back-and-forth to work 😁, maybe open a bike shop 👍
Ive been here in south Carolina since 1975 back then Charleston, and summerville was cool in the 70 ,80 90 ,but lately ,a bunch on northern people have took over ,the traffic now. Sucks just bad ,too many people because of jobs ,Boeing,,and other companies ,brought a a lot of people ,and crime sucks ,way to much traffic,Don't move here .
Do Northerners suck and are they mean? Or is it their evil ways? Or all the above? What's up with them? You don't mean North Carolinians when you say, "Northerners", though do you, huh?
I think there’s a misconception about the south switching from Dem to Rep because of racism. The Dems were the original slavery lovers. The KKK was an arm of the Dems. People switched because they saw the left getting away from Christian values and the Dems desire to grow the government. There are other reasons but racism is hardly one of them. Awesome video by the way. Please do Ohio and Kentucky. My two favorite states.
Visited Clemson once. The tailgaters were there already and it was still early in the week. Nice looking school. Also saw ice on palm trees on another trip.

If you white, you already have it good so why go to south carolina, it's like wasting your whiteness 😂
And humidity and bird size mosquitos are definitely not good things..
Do not come to south carolina, move to north carolina it's better there...
How come you always forget about North Charleston
I am from rock hill s.c. and i disagree with you.
@nick Johnson why ask questions to the guy who hasn't been in South Carolina long enough to even go into detail(s) about the basic questions that you're asking? A "native" would have been more suggestible. He keeps saying "they"..."they"... "they"... and "I think."
Thanks for talking more about my state
Please, keep posting how bad S.C. is, please. To many people leaving places they don't like, moving here and trying to turn it into what they hated.
Amen
Yankees moving to SC in droves to get away from the north. Not all Yankees are upidy and do appreciate SC-I’m one of them 😊
Lol when they move here and challenge the status quo, we end up looking like your California videos. They can call us backwards if they want but we don't look like California.
You’re backwards
Summerville is amazing. I'm raising my kids here right now.
So play clarinet and move. Got it. Thanks.

The Republicans suck too {they ordered the burning} but their control (at present) is why we have clawed our way back from that.
Worth noting, as well: In the last year we had two cities under curfew* and that wasn't for very long. Six fires ,six arson convictions...that's all the trouble we have had.

l have traveled to 31 States and South Carolina has nothing to envy any of them where it comes to beauty, variety and climate, especially in the upstate.
Because the bulk of the taxes goes to pay teachers & administration! Unionized schools in NJ , no teacher's unions in the south!

I love S.C., many of our houses are on wheels & our cars are on blocks but we've come a long way.
Jamie Harrison's money did not primarily come from SC. He also lost badly, like 12%.
Right, big democratic money.
Exactly
I'm glad you're doing an Unboxing Part 2. This series is so awesome and interesting!
I was born and raised in sc basically grew up in the midlands i think you should dona part 3 and interview me and i can give you deeper insight on the midlands and low country
I'd love to travel to south carolina. ❤ from austria🇦🇹
I'm from South Carolina and have been to Austria with my family! Back in 1996! Had a blast! Of course I was on and in a really nice tour bus and group but it seemed good just the same! Why would you want to come here? I don't think it is entirely accurate in this video but I guess I come from a family with enough money that we are for the most part oblivious to these rural areas in some ways. I'm more worried like hell about the earthquakes we are starting to have! 😶
South Carolina here born and raised, I'm 26,still SC isn't a bad place to live,it just depends on how u look at things and how u live your life. Don't let people's opinions ruined your outlook on things. But they're are some parts of SC I highly recommend not living in. I'm from the lowcountry part of sc
As a North Carolinian with relatives and friends living in South Carolina, I love SC. Kind and friendly people, beautiful country, wonderful family traditions. It’s a great state!
Ah, now I gotta say I put eyedrops on,, oh bless your heart, darlin.
Live in aiken but I have lived in chucktown, georgetown, Pawleys Island, Murrells inlet, and irmo ( columbia ) and you made a lot of good points here I'd say you are 90% accurate good job sir.
I've been here as I said 3 months and I have only had a crazy encounter with two different people because I work at Spinx customer service so I've gotten to rude people in the three months. That is nothing compared to me getting rude people once a day every day 7 days a week in Colorado Springs
Good to know!
Did you say no property taxes? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was born in Florence SC, in the old McLeod hospital back in 1978. I was raised in the well known neighborhood called 'Tara Village'. I went to Greenwood Elementary, and then Southside Middle, onto South Florence high school. I was schooled at the Florence Career Center in electricity.
It's definitely a different world in Florence, SC.
When I turned 21, I moved to Monroe, NC and although I still visit Florence SC, I love NC so much more.
I live in Darlington but originally from Hartsville. My cousin's second daughter's mom got killed by her boyfriend on 11/22/22 in her house in Tara Village.

Hey Nick, I live in a smaller town in South Carolina near Florence called Lake City, which is definitely on the way up! Anyways, I think Florence itself gets a very bad rep. The statistics may look bad, but as long as you stay away from the very obvious bad part of town, the other 80 percent of Florence is a really cool place to be! Anyways, good work on the vid

I live in South Carolina. I lived in Greenville. Slater Marietta, to be exact. I say your video is pretty accurate. I moved to Anderson to get better work. That area is considered to be vary crime-ridden. I hope one day it will be better for my extended family who still lives there. The area is not a good place to make a liveable wage. It's also underfunded by the state. So it has bad road conditions and a higher crime rate. It's also very isolated too. Not much for tourists. The only thing it has is Beachwood farms. But that is more of a seasonal thing
You nailed it! And it’s the sad truth about Myrtle Beach.
Giving people the less interesting information about South Carolina that makes people not want to relocate to the state is a great way to draw in population. Then I realized the narrator is from North Carolina.
I've been to every county in SC atleast once. I've seen the best and worst this state has to offer. We sure as hell ain't the best in the county but we ain't the worst either. If you need any info on SC feel free to ask literally anyone who lives here. I can honestly say SC has some of the kindest people that I've ever seen.
Quick question for you- I live in Wisconsin and have been thinking about moving to South Carolina for a long time. I go there every year but am limited to the Conway/Myrtle Beach area. I’m looking for suggestions. I don’t have crap for money so I need somewhere cheaper. I hate big cities and traffic and would prefer a town of maybe 12,000 or less. I love the ocean and country living. Have some horses. Any ideas?
The 2023 minimum wage rate in South Carolina is the same as the federal minimum wage, which is currently $7.25 per hour
No Nick they are building the Carolina Panthers headquarters in South Carolina AKA Rock Hill
Not to mention they are building a damn exit off of I-77 for these headquarters! Money that could be better spent on repaving several bad roads!
@@wriddle082 York county is doing the Penny of progress to help to fix the road. They going to put a bridge to get to the Carolina Panthers headquarters. The state going to do that. York county is talking about put a light rail to Charlotte to Rock Hill.

You should do a video about top cities were military veterans live.

That'll surely be North Carolina for sure!
We need to change the South Carolina drink from milk to sweet tea. We cannot claim Mountain Dew because Mountain Dew was invented in Tennessee in the Mountain. The city of Knoxville. So it is Tennessee thing.
As you've heard it said before, from the mouths of babes, this mountain dew, though the corn kind, (110 proof) just not the corn syrup kind (fructose) could be the ultimatem here, not to forget the drinks of coca cola came from just to the west (Georgia) and Pepsi, from just north of the state border (North Carolina)
Chug-galug Chasers!
@@theotherconfederrasputin2729 Mountain Dew is a Tennessee thing is not a South Carolina thing
SC is full quit moving here go somewhere else
First of all I always enjoy these videos. I’m also Very curious to see how the South changes as more and more Northerners and Californians relocate. My grandfather was from Winnsboro, SC. He moved to NYC and now people are leaving here in droves to go to GA,SC, Fl and NC. As far as the Dollar Stores, bad education and drugs that describes Most of 🇺🇸. Media likes to highlight crime in inner cities but there are much drugs and crime in suburbs and rural areas just more hidden.
I agree
UA-cam/luckbone
Northerners moving to the south will make the badly educated southern states more intelligent.
Man! I was born and raised in SC and I’ve been around the world a couple of times and I can tell you of lots of places worse than here and I’m from Mullins. It’s smaller than anyplace you can think of but my opinion is this. It’s not the place it’s the people.
Great video! I live here and you got it👍🏽👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I relocated to Orangeburg six years ago. I took care of my aunt for five of those years. It is the worst place in the World. There are no high tech jobs, everything is food based. There are no movie theaters. Bad customer service everywhere if the person is a local. Very poor people live here. I can't wait to leave as they would like me to go as well. Crime is a constant. Shootings, theft and murder seems like a hobby to some.
I live in Orangeburg county near Santee. I don't like going to the town of Orangeburg. I agree with you about crime seems like a hobby for some residents.
South Carolina SUCKS!!! Lived here for over 15 years. Jobs suck, low pay, WAY TOO many crooked attorneys!!! Run don't walk as fast as you can away from this crappy state.
Come to South Africa you will love it here..😄

Wow! You sound just like I did in 2006 while living in Beaufort. I have been living in Minnesota for 15 years now and I have been very happy with that decision. For me, Beaufort was becoming too crowded and crime was getting worse, had my house broken into and stuff stolen 3 times in 5 years. I grew up in the area and left a lot of friends and family behind and keep up with all of the events going on, mostly crime and population growth. Many of them sound as though they wish to leave as well. Too bad, it was a great place to be in the 70’s and 80’s.
@@1bug1man1 I had a job opportunity down in Beaufort. Rent for a one bedroom is $1,500 (cheapest). Pay sucks. Turned it down. Beaufort has really gotten bad as far as criminal activity. Good you moved when you did.
@@lteller4445 What part of the state do yo reside in right now? Beaufort has high rent and property values are absolutely insane. I bought a house in Minnesota larger than the house I lived in down in Beaufort and I am only a few blocks from Lake Superior. Jobs are abundant here. Granted, some are low pay, but in general, if you have a good skill set then you will do well here. Just a side note, I went back for a visit 3 years ago and felt totally out of place. I felt more at home in a small town in Kentucky where I stopped on the way back. Southern hospitality is long gone in the Lowcountry!
Love ur video and ur so funny 😄 bring it on!!
I've lived on Hilton Head Island for 34 years (and Charleston for a year), and i can tell you that living here is the best! Only issue now (thanks to timeshares) is that too many tourists drive like shit here, don't tip our F&B people properly, and just don't respect the rules. You feed a gator and then wonder why it tries to attack you? LoL. Charleston's nice, but if you want to visit the jewel of SC, come to Hilton Head Island.
I definitely wanna visits Hilton Head and would love to live there for a spell 😊ty
"Northern States didn't want slavery..." Except Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky and Missouri... They were allowed to keep their slaves in exchange for staying in the union... until December of 1865.
The Abolitionist movement was also extremely unpopular, and the Corwin Amendment protecting slavery was expected to pass had secession not began
UA-cam/luckbone
Born and raised in Charleston nothing but smokes and mirrors down here...
An ongoing part of the education problem is that SC has one of the lowest property tax rates in the country and that's where schools primarily get their funding 😐
UA-cam/luckbone
There is also the South Carolina education lottery, which apparently is being misused by politicians. There should be plenty of money for k thru 12th grades from that fund alone.
One more thing.....not all kids belong in college and with more manufacturing businesses opening up here from the north and overseas, South Carolina should format vocational high schools for learning a trade as an alternative to college.
I live in SC….DO NOT come to Mullins/Rains or Marion. They all suck.
I am a NY Native who has lived in South Carolina for several years. McMaster is WAY above Gov. Hochul, Mario Cuomo or his son. SC is a no BS run state with low taxes. I am enjoying my 1K/year property tax bill. That's what my parents paid on Long Island in the mid 1970s! The schools my daughter attended down here are a LOT better than the ones I went to in NY as a child.
Is is time for Myrtle Beach to make a comeback!!!
We vacation in Murrells Inlet and Surfside Beach.. We never have any issues, we just avoid the tourist traps..
Remember the fairground they used to have there?

It’s crazy how you said that South Carolina had slaves that worked amazingly hard smh 🤦🏿♂️
As a NC native that lived in SC during grad school, I would choose SC over NC any day and can’t wait to get back.
We are not backwards - thanks for keeping stereotype up.
He's a leftist bigot. 🤷♂️
Yes we are backwards and it’s contagious. Stop at NC or keep moving, just don’t come here
This state has always been backwards. It's not a compliment. Just because it's all you've known or you like it doesn't make it a good or right thing. One place, one mindset, one experience is not indicative of the entire state. We desperately need change. Should look to the errors of other states and not make those mistakes but doesn't mean we don't need change!

Great video Johnson! I'm from Spartanburg originally. Yes, very fast growing city.
Sure is!
@@NickJohnson It is an hour drive to Spartanburg for us & they have some great areas like Lake Bowen & were the Marshall Tucker Band was born..
Nick, I enjoy your videos. Thank you for you views on SC. Maybe it will will keep the wrong people away from SC for a while longer. 😀

No, you can't. Stay where you are.
By all means we southerners don't want the rich and upper class changing our city! Stay up north.
No party should put Religion on there agenda.
