- Traditionally viewed as a 3 ingredient cocktail - this gin concoction always hits the mark!
In keeping true to the drink creator's version and throwing convenience out the door , this recipe calls for a double dose of citrus using both lemon and lime juice.
It packs a flavour punch!
INGREDIENTS
4 - 6 mint leaves
2 oz / 60 ml gin
3/4 oz / 22.5 ml simple syrup
1/2 oz / 15 ml lemon juice
1/2 oz / 15 ml lime juice

Growing my own mint so you know will try this one.
000¹1😅😅
Love the use of both lemon and lime; will have to try next time!
Tried an Eastside from your recipe book last night Steve. It was delightful, and your book is awesome, inspiring and organized in a thoughtful and efficient way.
Eastside is soo good
Get that damn smile back!
Adding in cucumber when muddling makes it even better !
100% yes. That's an Eastside. One of my favourite drinks 😊
Sounds like the perfect summer refresher. Pitty there's been no sun in scotland for ages now😂. Will just have to drink this in the house with the heating on😂
Wow that's delicious 😋
Yum!😮
A gin mojito, got it! 👍
mojito has carbonated water my guy.. so not at all
@@Lordofjars
If you’re going to have that much attitude in your answer, better make sure you’re 100% correct “my guy”, because all mojito recipes definitely DO NOT use soda. Look at Educated Barfly’s recipe.
@@mmwosu Mojito is done with any type of Carbonated water, and secondly, it also done with Rum, this south side, does not have carbonated liquid and uses Gin, so yeah I say @ryanrossrocks is 100% right.

Wow, you’re utterly clueless of how comparisons work. That is impressive, and I’m not even joking
@mmwosu lol stop projecting
May I understand why the lemon and lime mix? I like it just want to understand the logic.
Thank you for your question - after doing a lot of research and taste testing i found using both citrus's gave the cocktail a better flavour and was also a closer match to the cocktail's creator's original written recipe from 1916 😀
@@StevetheBartender_ awesome. I made one for my dad tonight following this recipe. I had a sip. We loved it!
U want a little sugar in there to help cut the mint up !
What’s the 1st best way? 👇🏽 🍃🌱
Mojito 🍃
Mai Tai
@@LaHNAB mai tai only uses mint as garnish… to represent palm tree ✌️
@@jasonruka1665 not “only to garnish” it adds important fragrance, which will complement the drink flavor !

Looks great, any alternatives to simple syrup
You just need to heat sugar amd watee to it 1 part sugar 1 part water and help it fisolve by stirring 3 min on the stove
For exaple 50ml sugar 50ml water
100ml suagr 100ml water etc etc can also do 2 parr sugar 1 part watee up to you
I recommend making a 2:1 simple syrup rather than equal parts, as the higher sugar content prevents bacteria and mold growth. At that strength it is safe to store at room temp, although I store it in the fridge anyway
This is no different than mojito
