    Man your truck is badazz. You went all out mad respect, not a lot of people modify 5.4l engine always wondered what these engines are capable of hp wise… sounds like a very fun project hope to see it twin turbo…

      Thanks Man! This was an awesome project! I am still tweaking on it a bit and I want to get rid of the pro charger blow off valve and get another Tial one. Those are so much better but they can’t get rid of all the air fast enough for just 1 so I’m going to get another… then I need to get my torque converter adjusted from a 3100 stall to a 2500-2600 cause I’m having trouble getting it to lockout in 1-2nd gears. Once I get those things done it will be ready for me to show it off. Just need some time…

      @@1odyssey11 to pick your brain maybe, I've got an o6' with a 5.4. I simply cannot afford a supercharger unfortunately 😕 (disability). I've got AFE Cold air, straight piped, sct 4 programmer, bbk 85 mm throttle body, Valant throttle body spacer, jet mass air flow sensor so far. Id like to add long tube headers and maybe cams.
      How much is that procharger setup?

    • @1odyssey11
      @1odyssey11  2 роки тому

      @@reimerhagen2256 those are great mods for a NA engine… I would say if you can get long tube headers and a ram air intake it will help about as much as you can on that engine…. Only other thing you could do is get a Roush super charger… those run around 2k on eBay and are bolt on pieces with programming setup as well for your truck.
      If you try to put a procharger on that engine you are looking as around 5k and you will probably have to rebuild the engine with forged parts to withstand the pounding…. I already had to replace my heads on mine cause it dropped a valve seat in 2 of the valves. So I had to get a head with a hardened seat to take the pounding of 15psi of boost. Also everything in my engine is forged!

    • @1odyssey11
      @1odyssey11  2 роки тому

      It’s never cheap to get a lot of boost. However if you go with a Roush supercharger you can get 5-6psi of boost and it will give you a good pick me up when you press the gas. Also will help with towing. That is the way I would go if I were in your shoes.

    What would be your suggestions for adding bolt on power besides a SC I'm hoping to do that but waiting till I redo the engine

    • @1odyssey11
      @1odyssey11  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Jeremy. The best things I did for bolt on was S&B cold air intake with the lower snorkel. The lower snorkel is the key here. It makes it better than any COI on the market. That is the first thing I would do.
      Then I would get a cat back Roush exhaust for a 2011 truck. It fits just fine for the 2010.
      Then I would get a larger throttle body from BBK. That way you can get more air into the intake manifold.
      Then I would look at shorty headers if possible. They don’t require modifications and really help get the exhaust out.
      Power is all about getting air and fuel in then getting it thru the engine and out as quick as possible. These are the best things you can do to get power. All this might get you 100hp if you are lucky. That will be the max! Also keep in mind you will need a tune as you make these changes. 5Star tuning and do all this with an email tune to you without putting on the dyno. You send them your setup and they will hook you up!!
      Hope this helps! You can call me anytime if you have questions! 469-636-0090

    What intake manifold are you using, when you make passes do you do four-wheel drive and was any work needed to be done to the transfer case for the amount of Hp

    • @1odyssey11
      @1odyssey11  3 роки тому +2

      I am using a stock intake manifold. There is nothing out there for the 2010 f150 other than stock. So I ordered a brand new one directly from Ford. Didn’t want an aftermarket one. Got advice from 5Star tuning and they said that plastic manifold will support up to 25lb of boost. I haven’t had any issues so far and it’s been 1yr.
      I do put into 4wd when trying to pull cause it won’t hookup otherwise. It is very hard on the transfer case and I’m going to need to replace that very soon. It still has the original one installed. I am going to upgrade that this year as well.

      The Fox coil overs have been great. I had the Icon Stage4 coil overs on before these. And the Fox ones are just as good and cheaper. These are the 2.0 versions and they are holding up great. The ride is good and the travel is great. They are lasting longer than the Icons as well. Only thing I wish is that they had a bit more travel on the screw out. They only go 2.5” and it would have been nice to have the 3” adjustment like the icons to fit my 35” tires. Now I had to do some trimming to the finder wells

    • @1odyssey11
      @1odyssey11  3 роки тому +1

      Desantn365 if you do a suspension lift you should be able to go 6-8”. Rough Country makes a lift that has all the parts to make that happen. However I didn’t want to make mine that high cause they start to ride really rough. I just did coilovers in the front and 2” suspension lift in the rear. That way it will ride better and doesn’t create as much roll in corners. I want this thing to go fast and the higher I go the harder it is to accomplish that. It’s already too high for performance stuff but it sure is fun for off-roading and overlanding!!

The bigger the boom boom the bigger the gas volume that needs to be blown out exhaust valves... 2 pipes one for each header if you have longtubes? other wise stock manifolds, but either or you have 2 on each side... thus having a pipe for each with high cats(I recommend 3" exhaust), and high flow mufflers air can be pushed out in larger volumes, thus larger volumes of air can flow into engine. Simple system the more air and fuel you can flow and ignite the more power your engine can obtain.

    If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for the entire engine rebuild. Without the procharger. I have an 09 lariat with the 5.4. I want to put a performance intake manifold on it I just can't find one anywhere for the 3v. Then I'd like to put a larger throttle body on it, only one I can find is an 80mm by BBK, but I'd like to go bigger than that. I've thought about trying to have one 3D printed, I was thinking like 95mm. And I was going to build my own intake from aluminum, I'm going to do a dual intake, just y it off the throttle body using 3 in ID aluminum pipe and run them down both sides of the hood up to the grill so their getting as much fresh cool air as possible. Then I'd like to throw some either mid-tube or long-tube hooker headers and then run true duals all the way back. Put some magniflow high flow cats then straight pipes all the way back 3in to 4in tips, I always run mine where their is a 1 tip on both sides of the bumper at a 45° angle where they sit right at both corners of the bumper. Then find a badass tune for it. I figured that would get me at least 75 extra horses to the wheels maybe more depending on the tune, but at least it will actually be able to breath and throw that exhaust our fast.
