I think Ireland should blame France and France should blame Ireland for their losses! You don’t beat teams like the AB’s and Boks and not expect them to come out swinging. If they had won their “big” pool matches then you could argue would they have had extra motivation (if it was needed) to prove a point.
But leanant referees again and again and again for the commonwealth nations, especially in the elimination rounds. France can be as much perfect as they can on the rules, they will never be able to win a close game if the referee is always leaneant for the commonwealth nations. You need some consistancy, which we don't have. The bocks did a great game, one of their best but come on... Give the coaches just 2 VAR appeals and it will end up differently. The referees are thinking: I give the commonwealth nation some leanancy in their 22 when they are under pressure and I give some to France when they are not in their 50's, and that's OK... Good show mate. That really was something else from the springboks, absolute rugby bliss to watch. The focus of the springboks was awesome as the whole team contributed to get those moments it required to win a game like that, just fantastic. Man - I reckon the whole world is gonna watch the final.
Jim Hamilton is probably my favourite rugby journalist/pundit/interviewer. I used to like the lads at the Good, Bad & the Rugby but those lads are now too boring.
That's the difference between our foreign born players and Ireland / Scotland foreign born players. We have Beast here with a Springbok scarf talking about and supporting his team. CJ Stander was back in SA, probably having a braai with his Springbok brother-in-law and shouting for the Boks.
South Africa must stay humble and focus on 1 game at a time. Lets focus on England. They are a good side and if you underestimate them it could be our undoing.
The Boks will not underestimate England, but you can't compare the 07 team to this team in terms of depth and preparation. The 07 were relatively 'one-dimensional' compared to this 'Class of 23'. The coaching staff have been preparing for this WC even before the last WC in 2019. Winning that was a bonus. Having said that, we could still end up with nothing. Better teams that were 'odds on' to win previous editions of the WC have stumbled along the way. Think about tge ABs in virtually every WC held. Their dominance and ranking meant they should have had at least double the 'trophies' on their sleeves.
i`m English and i honestly don`t think we have a hope in hell next weekend , it`ll be men against boys , i fear a serious thrashing could be on the cards
South Africa, a team that has only just lost to the best team in the world, Ireland (despite their loss to ABs) and has knocked out the hosts (best French team ever I'd go as far as saying) and comfortable dismantled one of the best Scottish teams in history to play against an English side that only just scraped a win against Fiji, the same Fiji that lost to Portugal a week before. England would need a maraculous change in performance levels to beat this juggernaut of a boks team. Go bokke 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Almost like the change in performance levels shown by the Boks in the 2019 final. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, England is completely capable of turning it around in the SF and leave us pissing in our beer and blaming the ref like good Saffas do.

No you are wrong. The Squad did. The Bench added 9 points to the exceptional 19 points platform that the starters put on for 45 minutes when the first subs Came on. And don’t forget the pressure of that incredible 1st half that the starters had to weather and then soften and stay in contention with - so that the bench could come on and pick holes. Yet it was Eben (another starter) who scored the crucial try under the sticks, for an easy conversion). Cheslin, another starter was instrumental in deleting another probable 2 points.

I believe that the winning instinct, or the “kill or be killed” mindset and attitude of South African rugby players starts at school. The South African schooling system encourages a strong hierarchy between the years as well as within your pear group. From a young age if you are the best rugby player in your class you are held with almost a god like status. This breads a healthy competitive nature as each boy tries to rise to the top of the pecking tree. Having gone through the South African education system and watching my daughter going through the English education system, it is obvious to see teachers trying to destroy competent hierarchies outside of the classroom.
The best quarter-final ever in the World Cup. Three tries each Team in the first half. The Springboks got a 4th try!!! in 2nd half. Which other quarter-final before had 7 tries. The best quarter-final ever in the World Cup.
On Jim's comment of "how did England get to the semi final": As a South African, I distinctly remember how uninspiring SA was in the 2019 RWC, and then they unleashed an entirely different style of play in the final. The ball is not round, the game is unpredictable. Holding thumbs for the Boks all the way!
As a, South African.. We must show empathy towards the French team. It's, hard on them and we must show our respect and love to them,,, it cost nothing.. Just respect ❤😂
Thank you for the french, but I think I will boycott semi final and final. As a french I didnot forget the semi final in 1995. And last sunday the same. Better to stop international rugby matches beetween south and north if you every thing is normal
Winning world cups previously is not so much about “experience” as groups change, but it’s definitely key to reducing pressure on the teams who’ve never won it.
Groups change, sure, but there's a different mentality in a team that has won the cup versus a team that hasn't. Teams that haven't won it are expected to go out and try their best and if they fall short, it doesn't matter because they put in the effort...try using that mentality in the All Blacks dressing room, they will not tolerate anyone not performing at the highest level, they expect every player to be the best in their position and winning is absolutely everything. It's also really helpful to have supporters that have experience, because they know when to pick up the team, they can see when the team isn't performing as well as they should and know when to start chanting and being as loud as they can.
England have been terrible lately, and we are probably favorites. That being said, we mustn't become overconfident as England did in 2019 after they beat New Zealand. We need to treat this next match as a final. And I'm sure its going to be another brutal game of rugby. This English are still hurting after that 2019 final defeat, and I'm sure that'll provide some much needed motivation
As a Kiwi I have observed England improving steadily under Borthwick. Sure they are not great, but they have exceeded my expectations so far. I would not write them off, as good as you Boks are playing.
@@LMcAwesomewell, no, I didn't put down "every other team in the competition". I put down England, Fiji, Argentina, and Wales, and if my comment about quality is incorrect, I'm going to look like a proper idiot come the weekend. And if it's correct, it's obviously not as "ludicrous" as you suggest.
As a Springbok fan, i feel gutted for France and surprised that we won! Best game i have EVER seen really, i thought nothing could surpass the previous night's game between Ireland and New Zealand, but i was wrong! The frantic pace was insane! But if i think back to the RWC 1999 epic semi when France destroyed the All Blacks, Lamaison kicked 2 drop goals and was a real general! I feel yesterday France was not controlling the game yesterday as well as they could have! No drop goal attempts, the same goes for Ireland!
6 nations, in hind sight should not be so forthright in dismissing South Africa from the tournament. In the end they were wrong, when it came down to it NH wasn't able to win it when it mattered. The stakes would be higher if there was a promotion relegation. Having Italy in the 6 nations does not prepare you for the WC the way playing the Boks would. And from a fans point of view - why wouldn't you want to watch the quality matches like we saw between SA and France in the quarters and SA v IRE in the pools?
As much as that game was unbelievable, South Africa are SH and 6N is a NH comp. Should get Fiji and Japan into the rugby championship and Georgia and Portugal into 6N.
Not anymore. They play NH club game. Its dangerous for player safety to play NH and SH seasons. The Boks have been playing continously for 3 years@@jmbcars

ABs diehard here. Well done to the 'Boks, and deepest commiserations to France and Ireland. IMO the 'Boks are the greatest RWC team. Three titles, in nine tournaments, viz three from 10 for the ABs. Two of the 'Boks titles are away from home, only one away title for the ABs. If they both make it to the 2023 Final, then they're playing for all the marbles. Im disappointed in Tendai and Paul for dishing the English - as all it does is give them motivation to "stick it to you". Both of them are professionals and should know better. We cant take England lightly and we cant take the foot off the pedal. I hope Rassie grills the boys during the week as the last thing the Boks need is complacency. And you can trust Big Jim because he asks these loaded question on purpose so as to create talking points for his Rugby Pod channel during the week.
England are working up to their best. They are like a slumbering giant. Woe betide the Springboks for underestimating them. And England have such a rich history of combat. Alternatively, South Africa have had two massive games against the two top teams in the world. How do you keep up all that energy for a third week in a row. I believe England can win the game for these reasons.
No team can be written off right now! I here people talking about us playing the ABs in the final. It only gets tougher as it is a semi-final. There's pressure on every single team now. I would say ABs and us are slight favourites, however, it's a KO game and anything can happen. Go Bokke!
told a friend if we grab this, i swear i would want to start losing again like after 2015 for other teams. but now thinking if we go back to back twice. I've had enough
From all the articles I have read Rassie and Jacques are treating this Semi Final with the respect it deserves. Not slouching back and expect a sailing performance. Yes England haven't been convincing but somehow they have always been ahead of their opponents at the end of each game. And that still takes skill. So come SF 2 I certainly want SA in the final. But not to write off England, and I see the coaches are preparing as if it was again a Top tier team playing against them. Also curiously South Africa are playing England in the Cricket World Cup on Saturday morning and then playing them again in the Rugby World Cup. Not sure how many CWC matches have coincided like this with RWC matches.
Get your facts right Beastie Boy. The Oceanians (once known as the All Blacks) won RWC back-to-back in 2011 and 2015. What is of more importance though is that if the Boks should win this one, their winning percentage will go to 50% (four from eight they participated in). And THAT would be something very, VERY special!
The first principle foundation of all sport, You ultimately are not competing against anyone but yourself, conquer self and you master all else. ( the only thing that matters is mastering you, all else will fall into place, this is the whole meaning of the matrix trilogy. Neo realises this, even to the point of stopping the bullets in mid air. ) Bokke, master self and all teams will be conquered and bow to you, as the victors you already are. I believe in you.
Napoleon introduced "total warfare" as a new stratedgy in war. The concept is based on the fact that its not just your government going to war, it is your entire nation. Metaphorically, the boks out of any rugby team have introduced this concept to rugby. The whole nation stands behind the bokkie in absolute solidarity. The irony 😅
Hi from NZ. Woah...1.35-37sec winning back to back world cups has never been done before. I think this Sth African player had a memory failure or did not watch the All Blacks win RWC 2011 and 2015. Which is BACK TO BACK in my books! Best to think a little before you speak!
Actions not sanctioned by the referee, in the Sudafs' palmares. 1. Several entries from the side into the ruks, 2. offside line-outs during defensive rises when the French wanted to send play out of the scrum, 3. Kriel's unsanctioned dangerous raids on Dupont and Penaud, 4. Eben Etzebeth's deliberate forwards annihilating a French action, 5. Kolbe's sound barrier exceeded during Ramos' conversion, 6. Smith's illicit contest, 7. Some Sudafs' permanent whining attitudes towards the referee. It wasn't France that lost yesterday, but Rugby. Shame on the refereeing team.
That list is highly debatable and unfortunately you see it only one way. France were not robbed. They were beaten. Take it like a man and be proud of your team for reaching such highs. It's one of the best games of rugby I've ever seen.
This referee its a shame for rugby world !!!! Practically no call to video for gross mistakes against the French !!!............2 fantastic teams ! Congratulations from France RSA !!
We will not take England for granted! Rassie and the boys won’t allow that to happen. This is game time and we need to treat them like we treated France
The “playing for more” attitude that is South Africans have is fostered from a young age. From playing high school sports there’s a sense of pride that boys have for their schools, brotherhood is massively important. No where else has that same hype and pride for their schools.
As somebody with a joint European and SA heritage, I can say the difference between SA and UK, for example when it comes to rugby, is the excellent school system (no choice - you play rugby - good or bad), the school discipline (in my day we got walloped when out of line - and didn’t complain as it was fair mostly), the diet of plenty of good healthy meat/fish/vegetables (affordable still), sun, outdoor life style, a belief in community/ family/country, a belief in God and a real love of hard rugby in winter and skillful cricket in summer. Two best sports given to man - and by the British. Who we also used to like to defeat - due mainly to some criminal oligarchs who once used Britain and Empire as their crime syndicate (still do - but have moved more US in the last 100 years).
Tell you what Jim the X factor is playing on thorn ridden grass ,playing barefeet in rain and cold conditions as a child and not giving a damn if you break your back or neck on the field and not feeling sorry for yourself,we don’t do woke shit in our rugby at grass roots that’s why we are resilient and hard as scrapyard dogs .
One had to remember that Joe Marlo made a big difference in the scrums in 2019. England to make extensive use of penalty and drop kicks to get the scoreboard ticking. They'll be rushing into the rucks and breakdowns to milk penalties to kick. Just watch this space.
Used to be called BMM, Big Match Mentality. Being able to absorb the pressure that has nothing to do with your opponents or your own skill level but just importance and expectation of a all and nothing match. Nobody has the level BMM of the Springboks, All Blacks and Wallabies built over decades of "all out war" SH competitions; UK and Ireland comes close due to the BI Lions tours. Something the so called exerts completely ignored when the predicted NH clean sweep for the semi's.

On paper France is a much, much tougher challenge than England but anything can happen. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Also, South-Africa not respecting the anti-doping rules. That is fine! nothing to see here... Come on! When will it stops...
@@-Vim- I agree with the VAR appeals, you make a good point.
"South Africa not respecting the anti-doping rules." Tell us more please. If there are facts about this, I honestly want to hear about it, but if you are spreading rumours, you sir, are a disgrace.
@@-Vim- didnt see France getting any Yellows. I thought the yellow on Etsebeth was harsh. Ref was decent / even handed
@@-Vim-ref was equally lenient and missed things both ways
@@-Vim-we did not have any doping infringements. Shows how you don't know what was going on. And it seems that you are deliberately ignorijg the stupid decisions O'Keefe missed that would have been in our favour and fair. I suggest you actually study the laws and watch the game not as a supporter but try to be unbiased. And then, after that -face the truth - Springboks beat you fair ans square!
Just to correct the Beast, the All Blacks won back to back world cups in 2011 and 2015 so it has been done before. I think what he meant was to win 4 world cups which Rassie and Jacque keep talking about which has never been done before. Second team to win back to back world cups isn't a bad feat at all though.
Beast was alluding to the Boks not the ABs. Everybody knows that the ABs won in 2011 and 2015 ✌💚💛🇿🇦
Four world cups
i think he means it's never been done before by south africa to win back to back
All Blacks won 1987, 2011 and 2015. That’s 3.
Yeah I’m thinking he’s talking about the Boks. See you in the Finals champ’s 🇳🇿 v 🇿🇦
Good show mate. That really was something else from the springboks, absolute rugby bliss to watch. The focus of the springboks was awesome as the whole team contributed to get those moments it required to win a game like that, just fantastic. Man - I reckon the whole world is gonna watch the final.
something else ? you mean some strange "medecines " ?
I enjoy Jim's interviews and enjoyment of rugby. Great post match interview here!
I agree. Passionate. Conversational. Enjoyed his content all RWC and haven’t followed before.
Jim Hamilton is probably my favourite rugby journalist/pundit/interviewer. I used to like the lads at the Good, Bad & the Rugby but those lads are now too boring.
Hearing the deep booming voice of the Beast❤ he's a legend
That's the difference between our foreign born players and Ireland / Scotland foreign born players. We have Beast here with a Springbok scarf talking about and supporting his team. CJ Stander was back in SA, probably having a braai with his Springbok brother-in-law and shouting for the Boks.
Wise words from the Beast - And incredible player and corner stone of the 2019 victory
South Africa must stay humble and focus on 1 game at a time. Lets focus on England. They are a good side and if you underestimate them it could be our undoing.
Don't think the team is arrogant...just us fans
@@karldrogo9765😂 yes probably. They are professional and know what is what
Agree. Don't look past England. We beat them 36-0 in the pool stages of the 2007 World Cup, but then in the final it was a different team..
Do u watch rugby mate? How can u compare those 2 very different teams 07 england were destined for greatness, england rn isnt even a tier 1 team
i`m English and i honestly don`t think we have a hope in hell next weekend , it`ll be men against boys , i fear a serious thrashing could be on the cards
Looking like a NZ , South Africa final.. Southern hemisphere teams are like cream.. we always rise to the top :)
Factual... 🤜🤛 And we all knows that Enzed is the dairy capital of terra firma. " Got Milk?!". 😅
still alot of work for all teams
I really enjoy Jim's videos. Very balanced, but he doesn't mind offering his opinion, but does so respectfully to all. Keep 'em coming.
We South africans we play rugby we are a very united country when it comes to sports we are very, very specially of support our ❤hearts lies next to our sportsmen and women ❤❤❤❤
Did this guy forget that NZ won back to back world cups in 11,15?
I think he meant that SA has never done it before. It would be criminal of him to forget the All Blacks of 2011 & 2015.
Yeah I think he meant South Africa haven’t done it before , I’m a kiwi and I assumed that’s what he meant
Never been done by RSA
He definitely meant SA he has alot of respect for the All Blacks

That bench won us the game… immense 🔥
the referee too
No you are wrong. The Squad did. The Bench added 9 points to the exceptional 19 points platform that the starters put on for 45 minutes when the first subs
Came on.

100%
It's almost like competitiveness isn't encouraged in British schools. I found it hard to understand as a Southern African in the UK
Yup - humility is called for. Don't fall into the same trap as England did in 2019 after they beat NZ.
THIS
Yes, but South Africa. I doubt, and I may be wrong, that England will be able to be as prepared and well done as the Springboks.
The ball is humpty dumpty😂😂😂
The crowd chanting "BEASSSTTT" in the background 😂
It’s virtually the same group 👀
@@Chzydawg with the help of the referee... Boks should finish 13
This group hasn't changed a lot.
As commented, SA has a history of struggle , resilience and acceptance. Among the Boks there is a spiritual strength which surpasses muscle and money.
After 4 cracking quarter finals, I fear the semis will be rather one sided, but have hopes for the final to be a classic face-off.😊
While unlikely, an upset in either semi, will be a match for the ages. Right up there or even surpassing the 2019 final in terms of upset results.
2019 final was only an upset to the always overhyped by media English fans

England have been terrible lately, and we are probably favorites. That being said, we mustn't become overconfident as England did in 2019 after they beat New Zealand. We need to treat this next match as a final. And I'm sure its going to be another brutal game of rugby. This English are still hurting after that 2019 final defeat, and I'm sure that'll provide some much needed motivation
As a Kiwi I have observed England improving steadily under Borthwick. Sure they are not great, but they have exceeded my expectations so far. I would not write them off, as good as you Boks are playing.
My heart cried for the Boks win... But also my heart cried for the ranch players, who played so well. You are all winners in my eyes, ❤❤❤❤❤
I think the unfortunate truth is that the teams who competed in the earlier quarterfinals this weekend were competing in a competely different sport.
Ludicrous comment. You can say the best teams were good without putting down every other team in the competition.
Crazy alright!😂
I think South's Africa's strength is its diversity - and it is very evident in the Sringboks sucesses.
And its a contradiction to say to include Japan in the TRC, but exclude South Africa in the 6 nations - when Japan is in the Northern Hemisphere @@jmbcars

Actually the AB coach said it best..the Boks are bloody minded.😂
It is going to be tough in the semis, essentially the four teams in the semis each played a final this past weekend!
They are all Pro's. They do nothing else, but train for hours on most days. Their bodies recover far far quicker than the average Sportsman. Excellent Individual dietary and exercise routines ensure that the recovery time is accelerated, so much so that they could play again within 5 days of the last test!
But England and the Pumas each have a Giant Killing game in 'em. Roll on the Weekend!
3 from 7 for the Boks, 3 from 9 for the ABs. I think..... but who's counting? 😂

Listen to their comments again . They definitely did not diss England. Tendai especially emphasized Eng will play the game of their lives.

Fiji for next years Olympics in where?
No team can be written off right now! I here people talking about us playing the ABs in the final. It only gets tougher as it is a semi-final. There's pressure on every single team now. I would say ABs and us are slight favourites, however, it's a KO game and anything can happen. Go Bokke!

Agree, DO NOT underestimate the English. The ultimate challenge is going to be how many big games the best team have in them.

😂😂😂😂😂😂, dude is SCREAMING inside!😂
told a friend if we grab this, i swear i would want to start losing again like after 2015 for other teams. but now thinking if we go back to back twice.
A possible ABs vs Boks final - man I hope we get that
England couldn't handle Fiji's physicality
The way the allbalck dispatched Ireland - they are going to be up for it. The game would be a justified final between 2 of the best ever.
We start playing rugby when 4, 5 years old.

Actions not sanctioned by the referee, in the Sudafs' palmares.
1. Several entries from the side into the ruks,
2. offside line-outs during defensive rises when the French wanted to send play out of the scrum,
3. Kriel's unsanctioned dangerous raids on Dupont and Penaud,
4. Eben Etzebeth's deliberate forwards annihilating a French action,
5. Kolbe's sound barrier exceeded during Ramos' conversion,
6. Smith's illicit contest,
The beast!!!

Northern hemisphere saying the tides have turned and southern hemisphere domince is over. Nope only hope you have left is a below par England 😄
Jeez...how tall is Jim ? Making Paul look short ! ?
The boks won't overlook England. We are too smart for that. Everyone overlooked us in 2019 final, and we know how that one ended.
One had to remember that Joe Marlo made a big difference in the scrums in 2019. England to make extensive use of penalty and drop kicks to get the scoreboard ticking. They'll be rushing into the rucks and breakdowns to milk penalties to kick. Just watch this space.
The boks are going to kill us 😂😂
Used to be called BMM, Big Match Mentality.
Jim is a massive unit. Sure he has lost some weight but my word, he is a specimen
