- I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called psoriatic arthritis in April 2023 and have been taking methotrexate since May 2023. A couple of days ago I had my first humira/adalimumab in jection. The methotrxate has helped a bit but I'm hoping with the new medication I'll go into remission and I wanted to document my experience from the start to help other understand what to expect.
As always if you have any thoughts or questions please leave in the comments
Peace and Love
Welcome to my channel Lifting out of the Lows where I share and document my experience with mental health, depression and bipolar cyclothymia and also psoriatic arthritis. I hope from sharing these videos and my experiences I'm able to help people along their own journey and make it somewhat easier (if that's possible) as I talk about things such as:
How to stop feeling depressed
My experience with mental health
How to stop feeling anxious
How to improve your mental health
My journey through life
How to take action
How to be happier in life
How to build a strong mind
How to deal with the challenges life throws at you
I haven't got it all figured out, far from it. We're all on a journey that one never stops learning from but by creating these videos my aim is to help people and start more of a conversation around mental health. If you like the videos like, share and all the rest as the louder the message I'm sure the more people will benefit
Hi ya mate.
I was diagnosed with RA+SR 16 months again.
Refused treatment for 14 months, just steroid shots every 3-4 months.
Now I’m taking hydroxy and naproxen every day.
My bodies still completely messed up.
Same as you, the medication has helped, but I’m still going down hill fast.
I’ve been offered rituximab infusions but I’m scared!
How much difference has humira done for you since starting?
Is it worth the risks?
Good luck mate, it’s a right journey this illness is, I’m young like you are, hopefully we get better soon 👍
Humira has changed my life.
I’m back to normal pretty much and stronger than ever
For me I was facing walking around like a cripple for the rest of my life. Maybe I’ll pay the price with side effects in future but it is what it is I can love a normal life again. I’m in Istanbul currently and smashed the gym and walked 40000 steps yesterday no problems at all. Check my humira review vids
Do you have pain just in the finger or somewhere else
Fingers, feet and over stiffness and I inflammation throughout my body but feet and hands were where the most pain was. I also had pain in my right shoulder when trying to exercise
@@liftingoutofthelows1341 I have psoriatic arthritis in my both wrist one finger is swollen ,my hips and my left ankle. It all starts 2022 one by one and lots of inflammation I tried go naturally it works little bit but in last 3 months it starts hurting throughout my body.I avoided taking tablets but now I am on Arava for a week and helps me so much. I need check my blood every month for few months to see my liver function for sometime.I got psoriasis in my fifteen
Do you have depression and do you think the humira has helped with depression or anxiety i have read a couple studies. My specialist is putting me on humira to help with a rare inflamatory disease i am hoping maybe this medication will help with the depression or atleast depression gets better because of less inflammation
I don’t think there’s any evidence that humira itself can help with depression or anxiety but I could be wrong. If you’re in pain, that may be the cause of the depression and perhaps once the pain eases after using the humira then it may be a positive in regards to any mental health issues
Damn bro arthritis is dumb . I have the exact same areas of my hands / fingers and wrists
It’s not a good one that’s for sure

Im about to mtx today I’m hoping in couple months I’ll see relief . Your channel has helped me to see some potential. Thanks
Bro just hang in. I know what it’s like to feel like there’s no end. It’s been about a year and a half for me and I feel I’m almost there. The MTX took about 4 months to really start helping and allowing me to get some relief. Another perspective I like to remember is now on pain free days im the most grateful person in the world. I’ve taken it as a lesson to be more grateful. Stay positive, give it time and know eventually you’ll get there. Bless
