Got a $5,000 bonus last week and finally going to rebuild my white 97 obs k1500. Got it 2 years ago with only 100k miles on original motor. Surprisingly clean with no dents and very few scratches. No rust. Came with mickey Thompson wheels and 33's. Somehow I got lucky when I found it for a good price. Im taking the crappy rough country lift off caused its caused some front end issues and coming very soon will be 6" BDS lift kit with fox shocks, traction bars, and steering stabilizer kit with 35x12.50 toyo m/t's on my 17" mickey thompsons. Custom front bumper that I'll fabricate and weld myself to accommodate a winch. Led lights all the way around and probably on board air system or co² tank plus much more. My fiance wanted me to sell my truck but I refuse to go buy some 50k dollar truck.. so I've been buying and stacking parts getting ready for the rebuild. Wish me luck
I remember when businesses used to do special things of this magnitude back in the day. You had LOYAL and HARDWORKING workers that would be with the company for a longtime and put in that quality of work. Glad to see it’s still around to a degree.
The truck you started with was in excellent condition to start with - no rust. My sons 89 chev needed cab corners, rockers, fenders and rear wells repaired as well as everything else you did.
My 98 had 396k when she went due to a bad headgasket during the freeze of 2020. Threw a low mile crate l31 that a buddy at a junkyard was traded for labor on a ls swap. At 600 bucks and my block it was worth the price.

Love the OBS! I’m conflicted on the wrap because on the one hand, I love Nardo Grey, but on the other hand I love the mid-90s GM green. Y’all should absolutely build a SBC for it and restore the interior. Maybe even beef it up with a chase rack and bumpers. Some of us love 4x4 content along with our car content.
I’m literally doing the build you’re talking about with my 94 C2500. Very similar to this video, but I’m keeping the green as-is, lifting it, blacked out ALL the chrome, doing the interior soon. My girl wanted gunship grey, but I’m keeping the green. I’ll try and post videos soon! 🤘🏼🤘🏼 (working on the racks and trim to make it an outdoors truck.)
