Hey mate just a quick tip them icon struts won’t last long you just destroyed them any time you fit front struts you should never tighten in the air lower and let sit at normal ride height other wise they bind up twist and destroy them and not covered under warranty!! I fix this F up every time someone thinks they can save $$ or do the job them self. I’m a mechanic and 4x4 fitter in Australia I work on Toyota’s every day. Awesome build and love the show 👍🇦🇺

The build looks great, I can't say that I'm a fan of the color, but to each their own. I'd love to see what you guys do with a Gladiator.
In some of the shots, looks like there is a pink hue to that tan color, not a fan, especially with the incredible green Black Rhinos.
Yeah, I feel like they should have gone with the same green as the rims, but I guess this the color (direction) Tim picked...

I know right. It's a nice gesture, but they removed the ability to return the truck to stock. Warranty gone, plus destroyed the resale value. Probably skyrocketed the insurance cost too. There's also the potential that Tim will now have a huge tax liability as "gifts" from your employer are taxed as income (benefit in kind). Plus with the body modifications and drilling into the frame, is it even road legal anymore?
Why would anyone want to return it to stock? This doesn’t automatically void your warranty. And why would he claim it on his taxes?
@@michaelmaas5544 Having it stock increases your potential customer base if he ever decides to sell it down the road. Having a modified vehicle will only appeal to those that find the vehicle, as is, perfect. However, those wanting to customize their own 4Runner or just wanting a stock one will most likely look elsewhere. As for his warranty, Toyota has been known for not respecting warranty agreements if a vehicle has non-OEM parts installed and an issue arises. For instance, if Tim's suspension causes an OEM part to break, Toyota may not fix it. Lastly, as for why he would claim it on his taxes? I don't believe he needs to claim it personally, however, Throtl will have to claim it on his W-2 as a gift as it is seen as wages to an employee (it would fall under being an award for performance), according to the IRS. Throtl will send him his W-2 when taxes are due, and he will need to file it with his taxes.

I was thinking the same thing wheels looked good with factory paint also that snorkel was a bit much still bad ass rig though
@@pringledinglefringle8824 Did you see the before images of the engine bay? Tim definitely could use a snorkel and getting out of inhaling dirt and dust into the engine.
This is the first time I have seen your channel, and I very quickly became a subscriber. I am 58 years old, almost retired, and I have NEVER worked for any business that would have done anything even remotely as nice as this for any of their employees. A coil spring compressor will be a very nice addition to your tool boxes.

As someone with a 4Runner on 35s, I can tell you he's gonna tear up those front fenders the first time he flexes that front suspension. You want to trim 1"-1.5" off those fenders and hammer the pinch weld (don't forget to seam seal the pinch weld if you cut it). Also get some taller bump stops. Durobumps are awesome for a mid-travel build like this.
It's LA. It won't see any offroading
yep, going to rub like crazy, I got 34s on a similar lift and had to do a lot of clearance work.
do you think even with the -10 offset?
@@rickychatha1444 negative offset usually makes clearance even worse on 4runners
Oh yeah, Tim IS300. He’s the reason why I got my IS300 haha.
I owned a 2005 Tacoma and then a 1998 4Runner and now currently a 2018 Tacoma, this build on throtl was definitely special, the amount of mods and aftermarket parts available for Toyota Tacomas & 4Runners is insane, I hope to see a tacoma on this channel one day

OD green wrap with gold or tan wheels would look so clean on this Rig
Why would the external reservoir be routed through the upper control arm? Wouldn’t that pinch the line at full extension? I’ve never seen that before.
Build is sick and both the green and tan colors are sweet, but they go together like peanut-butter and olives.
Man I gotta meet tim. I sold my IS as well and just got a trd pro 4runner. All the mods in this video are exactly what I’ve been wanting too. Happy for you Tim. Let’s go off-roading.

Overall, great build, as usual....but that color...along with the green wheels...is a terrible combo. It looked SO much tougher in the OEM gray color. YIKES.

Yeah, I have to agree. There is a factory color called Quicksand that is similar, but this tan wrap has more of a pinkish red hue which really isn't all that flattering, and looks even worse with the greenish brown color of the wheels.
I think the color is fine, but they should've made the rims black. I think the color is standing out so much, because the rims are poopoo green.
I also think these videos have a lot of color correction and just visual difference from what you see in person. Might look a lot different in person. But really I don't know so don't listen to me haha

Only thing hotter than the vehicle are the 2 girls helping to wrap from SD Designs. They are gorgeous, and they are involved in the car industry. Doesn't get better than that!

Would have been better if they used extended travel shocks instead to actually make use of the 35s and add flex but to each their own... probably wont leave the road

@@DADVNTRS tan is probably the most used color 😂 very far from rare. After it blew up on tiktok, everyoneeee has been wrapping their cars tan. And i mean everyone! I’ve seen it in thousands of different cars, the color used to be rare.
