- Over a few days we filmed AM 836 running on the newly electrified line between Pukekohe and Papakura
Since August 2022 the line was closed to Passenger services for an upgrade to the line, this upgrade includes 3 new stations as well as the extension of the electrification from Papakura to Pukekohe
We start of with a video from back in May where DBR 1254 towed AM 306 for platform testing, before moving on to AM 836 running between Papakura and Pukekohe, being the first AM EMU to operate under it's own power on this section of line, We see the test runs at many spots in Pukekohe and Paerata
Apologies for the wind noise as it was quite a windy day
Enjoy!!!!
Gosh! these trains seem to be getting up to 70km/h - wow..what high speed commuter lines we have in NZ!
Exciting!
Awesome 👍. What's the story with GVR's DBR1254 towing that EMU? Reminded me of the Grass Grubs concept ☺️.
Thanks! The DBR was hauling the AM set as at that stage the overhead wasn't turned on
Where is this? 7:30
