Magnus Carlsen Checkmates Bill Gates in just 12 seconds

- Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, billionaire and philantropist, faced off against the World Chess Champion - Magnus Carlsen during the talkshow “Skavlan” in 2014, recorded in a studio in London. Carlsen started with 30 seconds on his clock, and Gates with 2 minutes - by the time he’d win the game, Carlsen would only up 12 of those seconds!
-------------
#chess #magnuscarlsen #billionaire #billgates #brilliantmove #kingsacrifice
For those who are wondering, the "12 seconds" refer to the total time it took Magnus to make all of his own moves according to the chess clock. Gate's moves are counted separately. That's why it's "12 seconds" despite the video being over a minute.

@@blueberryoatmeal4009White was actually better before hanging the King. Gothamchess has a good video breaking this game down. Magnus knew he was under tight time constraints so he went for a Hail Mary basically. If Bill had defended properly, Magnus is completely lost, but a low elo player is unlikely to defend that attack properly and that’s what he was banking on
Very polite of Magnus to keep staring at the board while Bill is thinking about his move. As if he actually needed to.

The frightening thing about Magnus is not only can he predict the move of normies 5-6 moves in advance. He can do that against some of the top players in the world. This is a man who beat Gary Kasparov as a child.
Honestly after seeing bishop to D3 for his third move I knew it was over.
That puts you way behind everyone else, then. The rest of us knew it was over when we read the video title. And those that never read the title, knew it was over as soon as they saw that it was a game between Magnus Carlsen, and Joe Bloggs.

Whether it be sports, video games, board games, art, you name it. I think one of the best examples of this is the Schallenge, for those who don't know, this is where Brian Scalabrine, who was a marginal player in the NBA and is long since retired, plays regular people who call him out to a game of 1 on 1 and he destroys them every time.
