Hi Sandi. Greetings from Malaysia. I almost exclusively never leave comments on UA-cam but I want you to know you're amazing!!! I am very impressed with what you've shared on this channel. You blow me away with your generous information, your vulnerablity and strength in compassion and simply your resolution of spirit. I don't come from a farming background, much less from a large-scale monster you are doing. Large scale farming is quite rare, in Malaysia. I also want you to know you've made me appreciate produce and producers thousand-fold. I've also showed your channel to my sisters and you have inspired them to be amazing in their own roles in the community. Gender-bias is quite bad, here, in Malaysia, but seeing you kicking arse amongst other people really enlightened my sisters. P/S : People on the net can be horrible, sometimes. Don't let their insecurities be a factor in your decisions - they are just not worth it. You do you, and you're wonderful.
My Dad didn’t like losing the two rows, so my brother and I took the 55 Chevy flatbed truck and backed around all are fields plus two rows in the middle and cut the corn with corn knives, thru it on , went home and fed young cattle with it. I drove on my knees and my brother ran the gas and brake sitting beside me..... lol.. enjoy your videos.. thx for making them.
Sandi, I used to work on a dairy farm when I was in school and working on the equipment was a normal everyday job. You and your husbands operation seems to run very smoothly compared to what I remember. Always impressed by how well you two work together.
Thanks so much! We definitely have our days of frustrations and breakdowns... but I think I can speak on both behalf when I say we love working with each other (even if it may not look like it...LOL)
I am 78 years old, and I still wake up between 4:00 - 4:30 AM every morning. I love the quiet of the early morning, watching the sun come up and getting all my daily chores done before the rest of the world wakes up.
Thanks for sharing the Corn Silage with us . I also enjoy the start of each video with your walking out petting a sheep , wink and start video . Very nice touch ! 👍👏
Agreed, mourning person myself. 60 years old and got up before 5 cince I was in highschool. Chores for the neighbors I worked for then at home then school🙄. Always loved getting it done with early , even nowdays at my jobs no longer living on a farm. Great video Sandi 👍🌽🐏🐑🐏🐑🐏🐑

Lucy, I have ended up a night person, but lack the energy to do much choring due to Fibromyalgia. Sandi is such a breath of fresh air 😍. Since most of my world is asleep, I, being a new subscriber, am spending my nights bingewatching her channel. I will add Mark, and already appreciate Jess's channel (it's May 2023 now). I agree that Sandi is a blessing.
Love the classic 3130's! Hate mornings. Night owl all the way. Love the Mark-cam! We finished our corn silage about 10 days ago, nice to see it all cleared off. Our local Maine Antique Tractor Club members came with about 20-25 nice old machines & turned over one big field for the winter. Great event for the club, nice get-together breakfast & unique opportunity to see some real oldies of all kinds of makes/models digging in & working hard. My son ran his little tiny Bolens 1514 with a single plow. Did a great job for being twelve & brave!🍁🌽🐄
I'm a morning person...finally...in my late 60s now, but it wasn't always that way for me. I've survived graveyard shifts, motherhood, and then struggled for some years to attune myself to the 8 to 5 shift. Now, retired, I am in a circadian rhythm~ Up and down with the sun and I'm lovin it! There's nothing like the beauty of a sunrise and sunset. Really it's the 'little' things that count! 👁💜🐑
I love early mornings! As I walk from my hospital to my car, home and bed! I love the beauty but I've honestly been super alert at night. Which is great as I am a Pediatric ICU RN who loves night shift
@@JudyHart1 Oh...how fabulous! I'm so thankful for that little girl and her family. Thank you....I appreciate it. It can be a heartbreaking job sometimes, but it is beyond joyful and fulfilling.
I am a morning person. I drive to work before dawn now, and watch the sun come up as I drive. Beautiful. I like sunsets, but not nearly as much as sunrises. There is just something about the beginning of a new day.
Im neither an early bird nor a night owl, Im a sleepy bird. As a kid I was a night owl partially cause ive always suffered from insomnia and because i always had energy at night. Sometimes I wake up earlier and I really enjoy that, love sitting in the quiet watching the sun come up drinking coffee and listening to the birds!
I’m a “morning person” in that whenever I wake I’m properly awake almost immediately. I’m a morning & night person because I love staying up all night & seeing sunrise at the end of my day rather than the beginning. I kind of have different sleep patterns throughout the year where sometimes I’m nocturnal & other times not

You are one hard working lady......... That 3130 is a sweet running tractor. I used to run a 2840 on the farm I worked on years ago. It was a good cultivating tractor(back when everybody still cultivated). We also used it to mow in the pecan orchards. Those quick hitches sure make swapping wagons a lot easier. And don't worry about the cursing. When you do equipment maintenence it is usually required. I worked in the logging industry for a few years and always enjoyed the mornings. I love mornings too as long as I get to bed in time the night before! I've seen silage harvested around me, but had never seen how they actually got those bags filled up so thanks for showing me something new that I've always been curious about. It might be good to remind or tell people new to farming some of the safety rules around the equipment especially the augers and how they love to grab loose clothing and whoever is in it. You guys make using all of this equipment look so easy (other than the repair jobs that everyone curses), but there are a lot of hazards that some people don't know about. Another reminder for those of us who should or do know never hurts either as we sometimes just go on autopilot and get a little sloppy. Farm accidents are often catastrophic if not fatal. Maybe you've already covered it a thousand times too & I just haven't seen them since I'm new to your channel, but have been on a major week long binge since my back has me off my feet! Watching your channel makes me want out of this house even more, but it's been a great distraction from the pain!
I grew up on farm 50 years ago and I would have loved to have been able to use that quick connect. At 12 I was backing rigs into the wagon or trailer and have to go back and forth to get it hooked up. I wish I had the patent on that one. Great videos!!!
This is all so interesting. I love farming. I am not a farmer but being a morning person I would appreciate all the morning chores. Thanks for this view into what it takes to harvest and feed the lambs 🐑

You are one hard working woman, you guys are such a great team. Be safe and God bless you both😍
3 years ago? Sure but i just wanted to say I have always wondered how ALL of this farm equipment works and loved how easy Mark explained it. Did not know that corn sillage included the whole plant. Thats awesome.
I worked on a dairy farm in NC,where I grew up,for a couple of years, and I miss the smell of fresh cut silage.I even miss all the work that went into keeping everything going. We really worked hard to make sure everything went smooth, and for the two years that I worked there,we didn't have any major breakage during harvest, which lasted about two weeks.Keep up the good job.
I haven't been to a farm show in 30 years. I can't even begin to figure out how much money you have invested in equipment alone, much less buildings and livestock.Impressive operation. You are. In a part of Eastern Canada I has not visited. Had I in 1964 or 1965, I definitely would have taken steps to become a Canadian citizen as I was thinking about it then
Another wonderful video, love chopping silage, next to haying,my favorite time of the year, you all worked so quickly and efficiently,a real pleasure to watch, thanks for sharing
Life's necessities can change us. When I was young, I was a morning person. Later when I had some overnight jobs that went for years, I became a night person. Now when I need to change it takes me longer to switch from morning to night. My work strength isn't as immediately changeable. 🤔💪
Thanks for sharing what you do! My wife and I are thinking to quit our jobs and start farming (she's more into vegetables and I am considering flocks :) so very happy to find your vlog!
I love the cool, moist, early morning air here in Georgia (and previously in Texas), and I even liked the bitter cold winter mornings in Wisconsin. That is, I like it when I can wake up and STAY awake. Now that I'm retired, meh, the cool, moist, night air of Georgia is just as good! :-)
I am definitely a night owl 🦉 I am most productive and more alert. But when I am camping I love walking up early and hearing the birds. I like mornings I just find it hard being awake so early.
For certain groups in dairy we used to add hammer milled straw to the TMR for scratch and to tone down the protein component when feeding corn silage. Nice to get the corn in and no break downs ! I miss harvest... Oh, definite morning person.
I used that particular forage harvester many years. I found myself shouting pearls of wisdom learned through many seasons. They way we installed the corn head was we picked it up, put the bottom two pins in first then raised it up with the loader to align the top pins. It took a lot of trial and error to develop that technique.
when I was younger work came at 5:00 am but now not a morning guy ! now stay up late and like to watch Sandi and Marks farm videos one youtube thank you.
Since I've always worked in the restaraunt industry, whether I'm a morning or night person really depends on my schedule at the time. I think my body thinks I'm a morning person, but my brain is definitely a night owl lol I've had a job before working 1st shift (5am-2pm) and I absolutely loved it. My mental health was the best it's ever been, and I had such a better work/life balance.
I'm a morning person. Mark couldn't run along an edge with the harvester to get goin' rather than through the middle, and knockin' down some rows? Well done Sandi!
I have always been a morning person for-ev-er! Folks have even told me so... I am a fan of naps now, but when I was younger, not so much. .. mellowing with age is nice!:-)
Lol. So NOT a morning person! Work forces me to do my best to be one but my body doesn’t like it. I’ve fought morning get up and go issues most of my life. My perfect day would start at 10am or so. Early to bed and early to rise is a daily struggle. Have to laugh at myself about it. Another interesting video- as always, thanks for sharing! Happy harvesting!
Hello Sandi! When my uncle was planting corn for silage he would start by seeding about 2 rows of barley on the outside rows of the field then continue planting corn. That avoided crushing the corn plants!Of cousre he would harvest the barley before silage!
I have a lot of arthritis pain but still prefer mornings. Love a good sunrise. Have more energy in the morning too. Retired now but still get up between 5:30a and 6:30a, old habit are hard to break. Sandi I am so impressed with your physical ability and you are so smart. How long have you been doing sheep and farming. Mark seems like a good guy too!
Like your new introduction. Never seen silage bags done before excellent job explaining things. We used to cut the fields open by hand with a corn knife and then fed that through the chopper. My family was German they weren't happy unless they were doing things the hard way. I love those hitches again we did it the hard way everyone grabbed a corner and pulled it in i never figured out why not back up ? Many thanks i would rather watch you and Mark's video than anything on tv

They way we installed the corn head was we picked it up, put the bottom two pins in first then raised it up with the loader to align the top pins. It took a lot of trial and error to develop that technique.
great tip!!
@@SandiBrock great video as always Sandi.
when I was younger work came at 5:00 am but now not a morning guy ! now stay up late and like to watch Sandi and Marks farm videos one youtube thank you.
LOL! Thats awesome! thanks!
My husband and I enjoyed your video, thanks!
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I'm an old car freak, in addition to other things. Loved that guy's old Studebaker!
I love watching sun rise as well
I'm a morning person. Mark couldn't run along an edge with the harvester to get goin' rather than through the middle, and knockin' down some rows? Well done Sandi!
At heart, I'm a morning person, but my schedule has turned me into a night owl.
Isn't that the way!

I grew up on a dairy farm and then went into construction. I couldn't be anything but a early morning person.
Sandi you have a very nice family
thanks Larry!
I have always been a morning person for-ev-er! Folks have even told me so... I am a fan of naps now, but when I was younger, not so much. .. mellowing with age is nice!:-)
I watch your videos & you have a real gift for this.
And I don’t need presents from you.
Thank you😆
Being a #tool ‘#getter’ is a fantastic supportive role for the #maintenance guy 👏👍😃👈 👏
#Corn silage is a tastey ingredient for the #animals
Thanks Valerie! My nights are definitely now earlier with my earlier mornings... but after years struggling with insomnia, I welcome the sleep!
Hello Sandi! When my uncle was planting corn for silage he would start by seeding about 2 rows of barley on the outside rows of the field then continue planting corn. That avoided crushing the corn plants!Of cousre he would harvest the barley before silage!
Wish we had those quick connects when I was a kid! Cool!
So great!!
What is the name of the quick connect attachment? I really like the guide bar.
I love the old school equipment you have !!
LOL Me too (when it works!)
Thanks Sheri! I've been farming my whole life, but sheep only since 2012.
Great video. Harvesting was always my favourite time of year. But I was glad when it was done.
I am so relieved the forages are all in for the year for sure!
Always liked mornings best.
SAME!
I am definitely a morning person.
Same!
Your husband is such a trooper
Like your new introduction. Never seen silage bags done before excellent job explaining things. We used to cut the fields open by hand with a corn knife and then fed that through the chopper. My family was German they weren't happy unless they were doing things the hard way. I love those hitches again we did it the hard way everyone grabbed a corner and pulled it in i never figured out why not back up ?
Many thanks i would rather watch you and Mark's video than anything on tv
I'm definitely a night owl 🙂
So is Mark... and my kids... so mornings are pretty quiet around here!
Thanks for the explanation on how the equipment works
I love both sunrise and sunset
Morning,best part of the day.
I agree!!
Definitely a morning person. Monday-Friday 4-5 am Saturday-Sunday 6 am.
I must say the jeans are more flattering than your standard bibs. You Rock!
