What I seriously enjoy about your channel is the fact that you present the good, the bad, and the ugly. Nary a pretense of butterflies and unicorns being the only features. Thumbs up and condos to you.
Just wanna say couldn’t find the right the new channel. I don’t know if these pop-up for you like mine do but I watch when your daughter had the cancer and chemo and I’ve had cancer. I was diagnosed in 2010 and the treatment cancer is bad, but the treatment is the killer and the results that come from that and I pray that it never comes back wakes back up better, but you always have that fear that monster is gonna wake back up, I’ll go back and watch older videos now so I could say oh she didn’t know what was coming for her life so maybe it was the best. Maybe she’ll know how precious life is and how easy it. Thank you very much for your.

Been loving seeing how you run your farm!! so glad youtube recommended your channel to me!! Hope your harvest turns out great! Best regards from a young reindeer herder in Norway!
God ye guys are so lucky. Working together as a family too! Tell the kids these are the times they will look back favourably on when the next 15years are gone in a flash. Great to see ye all enjoying yourself. Hi from centre of Ireland
I want to apologize i ignored your vids because i seen an attractive woman thought it was just another waste out time but i fortunately watched one and found it very well done and be very enjoyable thank you😁
I just saw this video and you were using rags to help close off your door on the dump door on your piece of equipment. Try using a piece of the foam pipe insulation that you use on your waterlines in your barn. Cut it to length and slip the opening over the bottom of the door. Close the door and it will act like weather stripping on a house door. Just a thought. Hope that it works for you.
when dumping into the pit from grain wagon put an empty feed bag down first than the grain does bounce all over the place put gently falls into the bin through the grate! Little trick f ya! :) Great video!
Greetings from Dawson County, Montana USA. The first day of harvest is always an exciting time of the year...reaping the rewards of another growing season. The gremlins take a while to get worked out...that's what the first day is for anyway. You've got a nice set up with the grain legs and dumping pit. When I was farming, I had an 8" Sakundiak auger that we used. I'd dig a hole in the ground, plunk one end into the hole and away we'd go! I live in a semi-arid region (12 inches of moisture/year) so our county average was 24 bushels per acre. It looks like yours is doing better than that...good for you! Hey! Thanks for sharing your day with us...take care.
Sandi Brock : I luv the way your family works together : a bit of banter, with love on the side. A lot different then I got as a kid. I luv your vids ... keep them coming ( isolation watch)
We have finished wheat here in KY just waiting on corn to start. Wheat looks good up your way too. We had a great start but had about 22” of rain over 3 weeks that killed the crop. Keep up the videos I’m hooked
Oh Zach! I'm so sorry! 22"??? We have dried right up here since the relentless rains of the spring. Looks like for July we had under 2" for the entire month. Glad you finished wheat!
Great video, always like the seeing the work before the work, wheat looked real good, great to see you all pitching in, on a family farm not much choice
Thanks Tony! The kids have worked off-farm, and Jess still does milking cows for our neighbours. We really needed help this summer, and asked them if they wanted to work for us. They were excited to which was nice!
Great to see what your fields look like. The wheat crop looks very good. You look good in that John Deere!Yep I am a big Deere fan.Still have a compact one.
Hello and great video again. Quite interested in your new grain handling system, would you be doing a video tour of the new system talking about some of the choices you made and why? Would love to see all the ins and outs of the new setup and here a little bit about it. It looks great though and I hope it serves you well in the future.
Combining in July?!?! I wish! we are usually up and going now (end of august) but all the rain we've had in central alberta this year... we gonna be lucky to be going first half of september... Crops look amazing, but that only counts if we can get them in the bin...
I haven't watched (if you've recorded it) your bean or corn harvests, but why not have a couple of tandem trucks or a semi or two rather than the wagons? Is there a reason besides the economics of it? I worked for a guy who used tandems, and still does (one with a pup), down here in Nebraska, just because he had short hauls. It was a three man harvest crew: one on combine, one in the grain cart, and me hopping between tandem trucks. It worked well for short hauls, but I had a busy day hopping between trucks. I can't see your system or his scaling for longer hauls. Great job catching some wheat coming out of the field!

@@SandiBrock It is different watching how it is done elsewhere. I imagine you have huge moisture issues where it is not an issue mostly here. It was different watching the land size as well. Sandi said “first day gremlins” on the last video I literally commented “I think you farm has gremlins” 😂 Does this happen to anyone else? You don’t hear a word in ages & then you use it & suddenly you hear it multiple times in a week?
Sure differant from my days. Started with a 6 ft pull type combine behind a tractor. Then had a gleaner combine with 13 ft head and i thought i had somthing. Lots of shoveling. Of course that was in the 70s and 80s. No cameras or radios. Times have surel changed.
We run 1800 acres total, and custom harvest another 200 acres. The combine was bought used 5 years ago (2009 model). We invest where we can as its just us, and labour is hard to find.
Thanks Sandi, 2 questions is your max. moisture for wheat 14.5% like ours in NZ? & not sure if you said is your wheat (grain) used for animal feed or human consumption? Our lambing kicks off at the end of this week, just 1500 ewes.👍
Hey Murray! Moisture is the same yes! So having this stuff come off under 14% was awesome. The wheat is soft red, and gets used for human consumption... I believe crackers and such... Good luck with lambing! 1500 ewes!!!??? WOW!
