  • Revival Circuit Nivelles Baulers, Belgium - Sunday Morning Update
It's revival day and here is a first impression in the early morning on Sunday June 23, 2024.
Nivelles-Baulers was a race track that hosted the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix twice. Both races were won by Emerson Fittipaldi.
The track opened in 1971 and closed in 1981 because of financial trouble. The Nivelles-Baulers Circuit was only 3.7 Km long, because the circuit owners couldn't buy the nessacary land. They want to built the full track in two phases, so a shorter version opened first.
But when the track was open, the land owner want more money for the ground for the proposed extension. That was too much, and so the Nivelles-Baulers Circuit was never finished.
After it's closure in 1981 it was used for illegal racing. In 1998 they start with the preparation works to redevolep the abandoned circuit into a business park.
On Sunday June 23 there will be a revival of the lost circuit, with demo races on a part of the original track. In the evening before I made this track walk.
