Right!? Yeah, it's not exactly 'cheaper out', but the whole thing could have been sturdier to begin with. I was pretty lucky finding a motorcycle mechanic that looked at it as an interesting challenge - I was kind of a guinea pig so it wasn't as expensive as it could have been.
Maybe this was caused by someone tightening the spring tension screw too much.
This tremolo is more interesting if turn to a fixed one without the spring.Else seems as impossible to remain in tune.
