The thing about Mike Chen is that he's honest about the food he reviews if its good he'll tell you its good if its bad he'll tell you its bad, other food reviewers I get the feeling they're being polite and do not want to offend anyone but not Mikey he'll tell it like it is.

I couldn't eat spice but as a student, my flat mates were a Malaysian, Indonesian, and a Japanese, they would cook and tell me "eat fast, don't stop cause you feel the hot" I couldn't live without spice or heat now, it's soooo good. When their parents would visit and cook traditional dishes was the best and quite different to the "traditional" restaurant dishes you'd buy in New Zealand. I'd love to visit their countries and try the st food or go on a local binge eating fest like you two.

So, Mr. Dumpling and Mr. Migrationlogy finally met and created a strictly historic 'Dumplingtionology'. Food made them crazy and UA-cam brought them together. Wow
Just fyi though, boat noodle is just that it was originally prepared and served from the boat. Traditionally, the dont use pig blood, imagine a jar of pig blood sitting in the rocking boat in the hot climate....they have only 2 flavouring..normal and tom yum (spicy). Pig blood was evolved from beef noodle with cow blood, but because big part of thais do practise taoism, normally do not consume products from cow so they use pig blood instead. I would recommend Nai Kaew boat noodle , at bang kruay : nontaburi. The chef was actually selling from his small boat many many years ago, i usually went to eat at the pier every weekend around 20 or so years ago.
