The shoes do look machine knit. I know alot of places are starting to sell faux crochet thats just using knit stitches. A recreation would be really cool though! I think it would be so fun to try and microcrochet some granny squares that would actually hold up on a shoe

The shoes are definitely crochet. I zoomed in and you can see the single crochets and clusters. Some of the stitches are waistcoat stitches so look a little different. Crochet cannot be reproduced by machines like knitting can. They pay impoverished women in underdeveloped countries just pennies for their intricate work. 🙁
Ugh its so sad. I hate that, they were not expensive shoes and so thats why I was hoping they were somehow knit. I know you cannot reproduce crochet with a machine and its very sad to think people take so much time and effort working so hard for barely anything

If you choose a clock for your tapestry, you need to make the time 2:22.
