    A payment plan on a dog really blows my mind. You can get a dog for free or for $50 or less from your local shelter and it will bring you so much joy and love. A $2 dog will love you as much as a $2,000 dog.

    As an addictions specialist, I’ve seen substance abuse accompanied by shopping and gambling. Oftentimes the person is trying to feel better. Spending money provides a dopamine rush. At this point I believe therapy ought to be offered in the schools of the USA, but I am dreaming. Dave Ramsey is here to teach us!

No I am totally stuck in a 400+ payment. I am single working with a $34,000 income. this is my only albatross. what would be my best plan of attack?

      Matt Crouch I would disagree with that. often times when folks hear “millionaire” they think it means you make a million plus a year when all it means you have a million dollar plus net worth.

    "Your income, race, age, and geographic location doesn't matter"when someone says your income and geographic location are not factors to a persons wealth that scares me. I get what he means but when MATH tells me through countless easy to access statistics along with many government studies that your position in life is a major factor in terms of determining where you'll end up and someone still says words like this. As if life is not filled with variables and factors that don't determine a persons place on the economic spectrum. I think three things. Either he is (and this is the most likely) forcing and encouraging his listeners to take personal responsibility for their actions and too ignore major outside factors that they know they can't really change like race, age, and gender. Which would be smart because too many people hold onto those things as crutches of why they're in a bad situation. Two, he is willfully ignorant of social plights that affect many members in our society (which I doubt). Or three he deals in absolutes, no in betweens or black and whites just absolutes. And if this is the case, I have to go back to the wise words of Obi Wan Kenobi that says "only a sith deals in absolutes." JK Love your program been a supporter for years keep up the great work!
    P.S. I already got two more book readings on my list because of you

      He didn't say it would be easy just that it can be done.. I'm from the poorest county in VA.. move elsewhere in the country to make way more money.. if there a will there is a way.. I think you are straying from the overall point he was making (I hope it's not an attempt to make excuses that you don't have control to make it happen in order to trick yourself into thinking it's not your fault if your don't bother to try). Love the star wars quote tho! 👍

    • @ppumpkin3282
      @ppumpkin3282 6 років тому +1

      That’s not at all what he says. He says these “factors" are not what get you in trouble - it’s the math that gets you in trouble (he’s not talking about wealth). Whatever your situation - you shouldn't take on debt and financial situations you can’t handle. Off course some people will never understand and won’t take accountability.

      I hitchiked to NY with five dollars in my pocket in 1975 when I was 22. I lived homeless while working at a burger king until I could get a hack license (always work at a restaurant - at least you get to eat. I retired 35 years later with $2 million, and a life time pension of over $100,000. I earned two degrees and got my family to pay for it. As far as race goes, we would love to have hired more non-white minorities, found a few, but not many available. Also I taught part time at City University of New York as an accountiny professor. CUNY gives open admittance to any city resident - all they have to do is earn passing grades once they get there. And the tuition fees are income based - essentially free with Pell grants - bottom line is anyone can go. So my accounting classes were 90% non white - only about 2% black, while the City is about 35% black - so where are all the blacks? Here is a good earning profession with lots of job opportunities and a high demand in the workforce for minorities. Like you say there are no absolutes - but I could have gone in many other directions and still have been successful. I saw it all in the NY, people of all races, came from anywhere with no money, ended up very successful. But the price you have to pay is hard work, defferred gratification, and continued personal development. I didn’t have a lot of dates, and I didn’t get married until I was 40, had my first child at fourty two. If you don’t stay in school, don’t have a good work ethic, have values, or get someone pregnant at a early age - you limit your options.

      Emmanuel Bellerive Nearly 90% of millionaires in America today are first generation rich. Meaning they started with nothing and built wealth. Less than 10% of them inherited money. And of the ones that did, most were already a millionaire before they received the inheritance.
