Do you need to flash the ecu after getting a after market exhaust ? Or does that just help it go to full potential? Also does it cause a check engine light ?
@@Nattyc239 You need ECU flash and better air filter for full performance, currently it might have increased 3 hp in R7 but it can go upto 8 hp with ECU.

I was reading NY recently passed the sleep act. 1k fine for modified exhausts on cars and bikes. I’m next door in CT and rarely cross that state line but that’s BS.
Love the sound of that engine! Probably one of my favourite engine sounds out there. It closely resembles a well built V-Twin and I’m glad we have this in a sports bike option as well as a naked. Kinda sounds like Royal Jordanian’s Husqi. Love that it sounds so brutal
I'm really interested in getting one of these, I live in Utah so I'm more of a canyon rider, the parallel motor just seems to be the best option for canyon riding
@@jimmy7687 probably, the only thing holding me back from an R6 is the daily aspect, I used to daily a 2012 R1 and it was super uncomfortable.. if the R6 has ergonomics like that then I'd prefer a little less power for a more comfortable commute

I just put the SC Project exhaust on my 22 R7 I love it a little louder than I wanted but I don't think I'll be pulled over for it the Harleys are louder but I noticed a big drop in engine braking super happy for that
The saddest part about living in Germany is that if you want a legal bike your aftermarket exhaust is not allowed to be louder than the stock one. But putting one on still improves the sound of it. Like on my cb500f it was all rattling and tinny noises, then I got myself a Mivv Gp slipon and I hear intake noises. Real nice, it could be a tad louder and deeper (like how all the older bikes are allowed to be) but I'm still happy haha
I was checking out this exhaust and it says that It is "meant for closed courses only" and "not intended for street use" I'm in Cali and I'm scared to get this exhaust and get pulled over and get a ticket plus have to replace the exhaust. What is your experience with it?

I've been running one of these on my MT-07 for the past 6 months without a tune and earplugs and it has been amazing so far. Am looking into getting a piggyback kit or getting it professionally tuned when I get my suspension upgraded.

Guys you have to understand something. If you guys go for the rs660, understand that the maintenance cost alot more than an r7… so when you shop for a bike, think about the maintenance too or if something breaks, how much its gonna cost..
Idk if other manufacturers do this but most of the yamaha’s ive owned have the clutch cable going across the instrument panel lol. I just noticed it on the r7. Is it ok in person or is the camera making it seem worse? Thanks.

It is always fun to hear something new. Loved the sound of my ninja 650 at first.. then I got used to it and it started sounding like a lawnmower. Cool bike, but listen from 6:10 to 6:20 a few times and ask yourself if you could be hyped/satisfied by that.

@@Jepphhh You like what you like. The r7 is a ninja 650 with sportier ergo and better suspension. If you loved the ninja 650 and can enjoy it's power/sound, the r7 might be perfect for you. It is a downgrade of the r6 in everyway though.
I don’t think it’d really help because it already has trouble getting to its top speed. Gearing for more top speed would just make it even harder. It doesn’t have the power.
The R7 has the most reliable engine in the market, the Aprilia is well... an italian bike. Check socalmoto's track video where it breaks down the first time...
In my shoes the R7 would cost 9k out of the shop, probably more. And the Rs660 is listed at 11k€ over here. So if I had 9k it would be the R7, altho personally the cbr650r is also very high on my favourite list, and those are also about the same price. But if the question is if you should get either one, I'd say test both. Take the one which makes you giggle more. But ride safe
@@Gor1llaK1ng3 Honestly, I don't think I'd ever want to get a 1000cc bike. Going fast in a straight line (because you can even grind curves in a 125) is not so appealing to me. I'd rather have a bike I can rev out, use all the gears, hear the motor work and get to it's limits (which are probably not even reachable if you only ride street) than roll around in 2nd gear doing 2000rpm all the time.
Dont know if its just me but the clutch cable looks in the way of the dash in all the vids ive seen of the r7 would do my head in lol unless its just the angle from the cam

The R7 or The Original R7 was built in late 90's and ended in Production line in early 2000's The Original R7 had 749 cc inline 4 cylinder engine with a power of 104 bhp and the Race Spec R7 had the Power Of 143hp if i remember.The Original R7-OW-02 is a Homolugated Race bike During its production time. Due to a Very Expensive Price which Costs $32,000 dollars which is very expensive bike. That's why the bike ended its production in early 2000's Ended up being a collector's items. Since This R7 Is based on MT 07 the specifications are identical with Few Tweakings..To all guys whp complain or hate this bike You are too late to complain. Before the R6 Ended it's production line in 2020 yamaha was already planning this about the concept of this bike. I know The Original R7( Homulgated Race Bike) owners understand what yamaha made.since they know how much the original r7 costs. The target market of the new Platform of R7(2022) Is the street oriented riders and young riders.

Yeah rearsets are definitely on the list! That'll be one that might be a bit down the road though since it's not something that's a direct swap from another bike. Gotta wait for ones to be made for the R7

The R7 just doesn't excite me. I learned on an R3, now bought an r6. The r7 just doesn't seem like it compares, but I also understand wanting more power on an r3 platform since it's so comfortable.
I kinda agree, I'm personally just not a massive fan of the R7 not because they did away with the R6 for it just because in my opinion is its just a dressed up MT07 doesn't sound like it looks if that makes sense I always just hear that noise and think of a MT :(

The R7 yes could use a solid 10+ atleast more HP but I just picked one up & to be honest I’m a casual rider & it’s got plenty of power all around. I never see a reason to be doing triple digits. But you’re right in the sense of the R1 is the only Yamaha bike producing significant gains
@@alexwhite2695 I think you’re right. If the r7 had just a little bit more power I think I’d like it a lot more. Sport bike seating isn’t the most comfortable I just prioritize speed a little more than comfort personally, but riding more than an hour isn’t that fun and hurts my neck sometimes.
It’s not bad, reminds me of an Aprilia, but at the same time I’m glad I’m not riding it because I can tell it would be too loud for my taste. I do understand what you mean about the e46 M3. There’s like two exhausts that don’t sound overly raspy for them. I think one was the Billy Boat or something like that. I can’t remember the other.

You could also look at an rs660, its more committed ergo's then the r7 but it is a way more fun bike then the r7 for canyon riding

What if you change up the sprocket for some top end. Not that it would be preferable but just a lil experiment

@@lukealiciouss see that’s the thing not everything about a motorcycle is power. A lot of riders can’t grasp that. The R7 yes could use a solid 10+ atleast more HP but I just picked one up & to be honest I’m a casual rider & it’s got plenty of power all around. I never see a reason to be doing triple digits. But you’re right in the sense of the R1 is the only Yamaha bike producing significant gains
@@alexwhite2695 I think you’re right. If the r7 had just a little bit more power I think I’d like it a lot more. Sport bike seating isn’t the most comfortable I just prioritize speed a little more than comfort personally, but riding more than an hour isn’t that fun and hurts my neck sometimes.
It’s not bad, reminds me of an Aprilia, but at the same time I’m glad I’m not riding it because I can tell it would be too loud for my taste. I do understand what you mean about the e46 M3. There’s like two exhausts that don’t sound overly raspy for them. I think one was the Billy Boat or something like that. I can’t remember the other.
