"My Girl" always makes me sob buckets, especially when Vada cries "His glasses, he can't see without his glasses! He was gonna be an acrobat." Even worse, she is indirectly responsible for her best friend's death, and the funeral takes place in her house. 💔😓
Same 🥺😭
Due to its sadness I cannot watch My Girl, when a movie makes me cry buckets or gives me nightmares I cannot watch it again.
Atonement made me cry for days. The most devastating end ever. A real tearjerker. Unbelievable acting, devastating yet sublime soundtrack... A real masterpiece... It changed me somehow... I have no words to explain it...
I still haven't gotten over Atonement.
I completely agree... I cried for a week, probably every time I remembered this movie....
"Me before you"- just heartbreaking😭
@natabelova6615: this is the only movie at which I cried and cried at the end!
I loved this movie
One of my faves.❤️🩹
Except for her highly active eyebrows!!🤣
The book is a perfect double whammy of emotion. Just crawl into a ball and sob for three hours after.
@@ItzMzJulez2U😂😂😂😂
I can’t believe they didn’t mention “Somewhere in Time” with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour 😢
just hearing the music makes my heart break all over again. if i'm ever in need of a good cry, the last 15min of that movie is all that's needed.
A Walk To Remember turned me into Niagara Falls and had me absolutely bawling my eyes out. my uncle passed from the same sickness. ❤❤❤❤😭😭😭😭
Somewhere in Time! With Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour!!
1st time travel love story from the 80s! Don't SKIP ON THIS!!❤😂
I have this movie and have watched it over the yrs many times, I cry every time still
@@stacymiley9299 same.
I kept waiting for "The Bridges Of Madison County" but it never came. That's a BIG miss.
“Oh wait. We read the wrong card.” Dang MsMojo! 😂
Last Christmas and Time travelers Wife are also heartbreaking 😢
Last Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas movies
It wasn't really a misunderstanding in Atonement. She made a false accusation cause of her jealousy.
Yes exactly
Exactly. Because we all know if Robbie invited her to the library she would have gone!
Ghost’s ending was great with Demi Moore saying “ditto”
My Mum still imagines Patrick Swayze every time she hears unchained melody.
Criminal that The Way We Were isn’t on here. The title alone tells you to prepare for an unhappy ending.
Ghost's ending is even more heartbreaking nowadays, knowing that Patrick Swayze is no longer with us. 💔 👻
I stll can not watch Ghost without sobbing.
I was 100% sure that Cruel intentions will be included in the list, isn't its ending heartbreaking? And the final scene is iconic for sure
Honorable mention for “Sweet November”
A walk to remember breaks me every single time i watch 😢
Especially since it is a true story 💔
When Landon shows up on his dad's doorstep to thank him, my poor heart!
Everytime i rewatch romeo and juliet i still cry at the end it's just so sad 😥
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for including my fave movie Moulin Rouge. It's always left off so many lists
I was obsessed with Moulin Rouge back in the day, and so in love with Ewan McGregor!
Untamed Heart makes me cry every time I watch it, I think that should have been on the list or at least an honorable mention.
Casablanca is one of my all time favorite movies. Has been since I was a Billie Holiday Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald old black and white movies obsessed teenager 😂😂 I used to keep my TV solely on TCM, just obsessed 😂😂😂😂
No, Briony. Giving them happiness in “Atonemnet” doesn’t make up for what you did.
Yeah, still not over it.🤣🤣🤣
WHAAAT? How can ‘The Notebook’ not be on this list?🤦🏻♀️ I cried reading the book, so I knew the movie would be awesome. Honestly, any novel by Nicholas Sparks made into a movie could be on this list (glad to see A Walk to Remember made it!) Hey @MsMojo…there’s a an idea! Top 10 movies based on Nicholas Sparks novels!🤗👍
Next, ‘Benjamin Button’ is another sad ending that comes to mind.
‘A Star is Born’ is my second fave movie of all time…the 1976 version with Streisand/Kristofferson. I was obsessed! Had the t-shirt, soundtrack on 8-track, VHS & DVDs, the paperback movie book, AND ‘Evergreen’ at my wedding! But I digress. I preferred the ending that was open for interpretation, rather than the blatant ending of the GaGa/Cooper version.
🎶❤️🤷🏻♀️
Is The Notebook really a sad ending? They end up together and having a family. And then they pass together. Sure her condition is sad but in the very end they have it all back.
@@collywo1590 Good point!
It was beautifully sad that she had a moment of clarity and that they passed peacefully together hand in hand. But sad nonetheless.🙂
No. The Streisand/ Kristofferson version isn't open to interpretation.
He is drunk, deliberatly speeding and intends to kill himself by smashing the car.
But I agree. It is my favourite too, of the 3 A Star is Born films.✌️
@@purpleroom101 In my teenage naïveté, I honestly thought it was simply a tragic single car accident due to irresponsibility, a high rate of speed, and probably DWI. Not until watching again in my late 20s, did I consider the possibility of a suicide mission.
Adulting sux!😉
@ItzMzJulez2U I apologise!✌️I stand corrected. I've been reading up on this for an hour now. You were right.👍 At Barbra's request, they filmed 2 endings and played the different endings in 2 theatres in 2 different towns.
One showed Kris's character aiming at a cliff to crash into ( or it was rocks or something. Determined to kill himself. The other ending left it open or ambiguous like you said. You know he's going to commit suicide though as that's how they all end. Anyway they found that the audience found not seeing him do the deed but seeing him speed off in the distance with her song ending there was more of a tear jerker without showing his face aiming to crash.
You just know what the next scene is going to be. I'm sad just writing about it - where she asks for a blanket for him and wipes his face.😪😪
Brokeback Mountain, Titanic, Romeo and Juliet, and The Fault in Our Stars. All these movies are iconic in their rights, but the deaths in those movies will forever be ingrained in my brain.
Agreed, it's been a full decade since I cried to TFIOS in the cinema, and it still makes me emotional to this very day.
The Best of Me ?
@@trinaqWhich movie are you talking about?
@@michael7054I haven't seen that movie.
@@kamsismith The Fault in our Stars, sorry for having not made it clearer. It was so wonderfully acted across the board.
Here are a few more...Call me by your Name, The Bridges of Madison County, The Way We Were, 500 Days of Summer.
Titanic, A Walk to Remember, Romeo and Juliet and more make me cry
Me Before You was an amazing movie. I read the book before watching it and while there were somethings I wish they kept in the movie, it still turned out great. I really wish they'd adapted the other two books in the series. And if they do I hope Emilia reprises her role and Lou
What about Love Story? Whenever I want a good cry, I rely on that.
Love means never having to say you’re sorry
@@collywo1590most inaccurate line of all time
I was gonna comments about that. The soundtrack makes the story even more heartbreaking. It should be in the top #5.
The Notebook, Gone with the Wind, Bridges of Madison County, A Royal Affair, Legends of the Fall
First ones that come to mind that I’ve seen are Titanic and Moulin Rouge 💔😭
Thank you for showing some love for Ghost and City of Angels
Well good job MsMojo you succeeded with this video. I teared up and she’s tears multiple times watching it 😭💔
City of angels is such a heartbreaking movie 😢
I laughed at the end of City of Angel's. One of the best endings to a movie
It was definitely Titanic. Happy wednesday afternoon, Kirsten. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Titantic had me in tears...angry tears. Rose! Move aside. There is enough room on the door for Jack!
You totally missed Somewhere in Time 😭
will forever love titanic ❤
Tristan and Isolde ripped me to shreds. I’m still not over it. So did Legends of the Fall.
What?? The Notebook didn't make your list??? That's crazy!
The notebook has the happiest ending of all love stories ever. Don’t they literally die together in old age holding each other?
@@nataliaalfonso2662 that's sad.
One of the saddest endings Probably was in a movie called Best of Me and I encourage y’all to watch it
My favorite of heartbreaking movies! It wrecks me every time!
Message In A Bottle anyone?😢
Titanic, broke my heart many times.
Great list. I think Love Story should be on the list.
My father has Alzheimer’s disease so my mom and I were a mess watching Amour. I highly recommend watching that movie. Just make sure you have loads of tissues, especially if someone more elderly is ill in your family.
My gosh. I blubbering my eyes out in that one! Good choice!!✌️❤🇦🇺
The fault in our stars scarred me for life
Some I haven't heard of or seen.
I ❤ City Of Angeles, Ghost
How the hell is "Somewhere in Time" not on here??? For gods' sakes, he DIES FROM THE LOSS OF HER.
The Notebook, duuuh! Why isn’t it here!?
Blue Valentine crushed my soul. So well acted.
HER makes me sob every time I watch it
the movie Keith with Jesse McCartney makes me cry every time. so heartbreaking that it should have been on the list
There was room on that door!!
the fact that gone with the wind is not on the list-
Yeah, Gone With the Wind should not be part of this list. Everything that Scarlett O' Hara did was for selfish reasons and she never really cared or loved Rhett Butler, and besides, it wasn't a very good ending, sad yes but he basically said that he no longer cared what happened to her.
Ghost and titanic always break my heart 😢
I'm surprised last Christmas isn't on the list. That ending is really heartbreaking despite the very end
don’t get me started on la la land 😭😭
Love Story and Gone with the Wind should also be in this list
Blue Valentine leaved me with a week long depression. I had to watch many rom coms after that to recover. I am not joking 😖
Bridges of Madison county and Love story!
Five feet apart & The fault in our stars are guaranteed to live you sobbing. There's something just unsettling and beautiful about how they meet, fall in love, and depart.
Somersby with Richard Gere and Jodie Foster. Hurt so bad I only watched it once.
Nr. 1 should be "Love Story"
Totally agree 👍
How did "Here on Earth" not make the list. SOOO sad.
Leo DiCaprio was the leading male in two of the top 4! That’s pretty baller!
An Affair to Remember is so sad.😢
Premonition with Sandra Bullock. And a film titled Camille, from the 1930's/40's
Sad ending aside, Me Before You is an awful movie. Revolving a plot around a romantic lead who wants to end his life for no apparent reason and kinda treats his romantic partner poorly is not worth watching.
What about The best of me?
Forgot the time traveler's wife
City Of Angels, Brokeback Mountain, The Fault in Our Stars. James Cameron has said, more than once, regarding Titanic. Jack MUST die. IMHO, it is what helps drive the narrative.
Allie sang the song that Jack wrote for her.
Portrait of a Lady on Fire would've been a good pick
Shadowlands
The movie that made me tear up at the end was Odd Thomas
Forgot Sweet November..
500 days of Summer
Each story stays with us long after the credits roll.
I cried at the end of my girl.....and at the end of Titanic to ... and Ghost to
Jack sacrificing his life to save his lover from coldness and death literally shattered my heart 💔💔💔
Titanic for sure! There was enough room for Jack!😢
Passengers, with Anne Hathaway and Patrick Wilson had me in shock then blubbering...
SPOILER
when she realises herself and everyone else is dead.
Titanic's ending hit me really hard.
Focus really wrong by picking TITANIC; romance sort of incidental to the shipful of people sinking. You don't pick SOPHIE'S CHOICE, but the same objection would apply: The romance is not the big business.
Going for the obvious CASABLANCA highlights the failure to notice countless older movies: WUTHERING HEIGHTS (1939),
MADAME DE..., BRIEF ENCOUNTER, LETTER FROM AN UNKNOWN WOMAN, THE CHILDREN'S HOUR
A STAR IS BORN is Judy & Co.
CYRANO DE BERGERAC (especially 1990), SHADOWLANDS, ANNIE HALL, THE PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO
What about "The Notebook"?
Me Before You disappointed me,it’s not very good!
The Fault in our Stars
Best of me
Last Christmas
City of Angels
There is to many to name
Another MsMojo movie list, another Titanic #1.
Gone with the wind??
where hands touch should be on this list
It is not as tragic as most of the movies on this list, but one of the saddest romantic movies to me is “Adam,” because it suggests that a romantic relationship with a neurodiverse person, particularly with a neurotypical, is problematic and unrealistic.
How could you not mention one (well Star in Born in a way) Barbra Streisand movie? Hello, The Way We Were...The Prince of Tides...Mirror has Two Faces... etc etc etc
The Mirror Has Two Faces has a happy ending.
What! Where's The Notebook!!!! I've never cried so much when watching a film. Titanic pales in comparison
I'm sorry, but where is Love Story? The ending is way more devastating than La La Land. Seriously?
And because your cruel you want me to have some of these fates or worse.
I’m not stupid you know, I know you like to believe I am but I am not.
The note book should have made the list
I Am Not Surprised That "Titanic [1997] Would Be Number 01 In MsMojo's - Top 20 Romance Movies With The Saddest Endings [We'll Spare You Having To Watch & Tell You]!
♥️♥️♥️🎉♥️♥️♥️😘🥰😍😢😢😢♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The Notebook Didnt make it??
I know they are “old”movie, but where are Love is a Many Splendard Thing and Lonely are the Brave ?
Oldies but goodies too is The Glen Miller Story and An Affair To Remember with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr😢
Really? The Notebook isn't in this, nor is Somewhere In Time.
No notebook?
