    Since you were explaining about E.coli BER pathway.
    you forgot to mention the role of DNA phosphodiesterase in removing the AP-Deoxyribose phosphate that was left by the DNA glycosylase.
    & thats the only difference in eukaryotic and prokaryotic pathway of BER.
    eukaryotes dont use DNA phosphodiesterase.

    You made a small mistake when you spoke about DNA pol I 5'-3' polymerase activity.
    The 5'-3' polymerase activity only works when you are using the 5'-3' exonuclease activity, ergo the concept of "nick translation", but when you use the 3'-5' exonuclease, one of two things must happen, either you excise in one direction, and then consecutively, move backwards in the 5'-3' direction to add the new repaired nucleotides. The nucleotides are not added while you move in the 3'-5' direction. Or you could have a distributive polymerase activity, where Pol I disassociates from the DNA and a new Pol I binds and repairs the gap via replacement with new nucleotides.
    Other than that, great video

    • @luisfreitas6435
      @luisfreitas6435 7 років тому

      So in this case the DNA pol I uses his 3' -> 5' exonuclease activity and add new nucleotides using his 5 --> 3 ?

    • @shohanahmed7221
      @shohanahmed7221 2 роки тому

      @@luisfreitas6435 No cut the segment of DNA by using 5'-3' exonuclease activity then siled the gap by the polymerization activity of the DNA pol-1

    not too belittle you, but to help you grow as a educator let me give you some tips. 1. please do not say things are very very easy unless they can be explained in three or less steps. it is not easy unless you can explain it in three steps. 2. slow down you speak very fast not letting any time to let previous information be absorbed and confuse people as a result. 3. this is just how I teach , use more diagrams. Diagrams are a very good technique to show people how something works without words, people dont learn well with words most of the population find visual people we go on youtube for video diagrams

      What a silly comments. Remember to evaluate your own shortcomings before pointing out someone else’s. This man is trying to help others - where are your educational videos by the way? Good educators don’t pick out the negatives in someone else. Your real character of insecurity and immaturity show when you need to put others down in order to feel lifted up. Great Video!!
