Hi, could I ask if lineages have different definitions it could be species lineage or it could be many individual lineages of an organism for e.g making up a population of the species?

Shomo is actually doing the great job in terms of theory. However to draw a phylogenetic tree of the sequences from a sequencing company needs some software. You also talk alot about the multiple alignment and other sequencing methods but practically you should do some analyses related to alignment and sequencing using software. A lot of information is available about these biological terms in the internet however to do practically is very important.

Correction to your lecture. Unrooted tree is not considered as a phylogenetic tree, because by definition a time arrow must be indicated in a phylogenetic tree. Unrooted tree only show the degree of kinship, but does not indicate evolutionary paths, which is time dependent.
