Hi Tiffany I just mailed my contribution to warm up america. I managed to make 11 shawls. It was great to give back in such an enjoyable way. Thank you for the challenge
YAY! Thank you Tiffany for hosting this shawl campaign for Warm Up America! I can't wait to see all the beautiful pieces that come in and to know that we'll be able to fulfill the requests of many elder care facilities for these items.
Tiffany, thank you for kindness in helping with these campaigns to help these organizations. I am happy to participate and will get out as many as I can.☺️
I got started earlier, when either you, or Warm Up America, mentioned the campaign. Luckily, I have made them larger, I didn't have the dimensions. Yay!
That’s so great! I just recently started a shawl which I had no idea what I was going to do with it, just got inspired by the pattern and yarn. Thank you for the opportunity to share! Update: Sadly wasn't able to use that shawl as it wasn't the right type of yarn, But, by God's grace I was able to make two shawls, they are on their way, hopefully to bless and warm two elderly fellow human beings, who may be needing to know someone cares.❤
YAY!!! Warm Up America Campaign 🎉🎉🎉 I love these. I crochet for WUA all year long, so it's nice to have a dedicated campaign. I already know what mine will be...C2C...works up fast and looks so pretty. Thanks for the opportunity 🤗
So a more solid less lacey type pattern is what they're looking for? I was playing with knitting and did some scarfs in a basic rib like pattern and they worked fairly quickly. I may try something simple like that. I love stash busters. Like a coat of many colors, they all have their own personality.
I started a CTC shawl today. Proud to be able to contribute to a great cause. 🧶 It’ll be my 1st CTC project…hope I can figure out the increase/decrease to make a rectangular pocket shawl. Any suggestions/help are appreciated 🙃🧶
Hi Amy! That sounds like a fun project. I don't have much experience with C2C projects but what I do know is that you just have to keep track of your dimensions. Once you have one dimension met, stop working Both sides and only work one. I hope this helps. 😊❤️🧶
I’m so proud of myself, I’m actually doing CTC and it looks so good! Learning other lessons as well like-Double check your yarn, it wasn’t 100% acrylic after all😅 but, I have yet another great project to work on in addition to making a different shawl.
Hi tiffany hansen right now I am working on my cottage core mosaic blanket and granny squares blanket and half double crochet blanket and I love your channel and your videos and if you keep making videos I will keep watching them and what is your favorite crochet project to work on right now and favorite type of yarn to used when crocheting and keep up the great work on your UA-cam channel and keep up the great work on your crochet project
Hi, hoping you still see the comments here. I loved your instruction and made my first section for WUA. Is there a recommended last row of SC stitches to help the joiners?
Hi Trish! Great question! Nope, no special last row. The joiners are quite use to working with all kinds of stitches used in these rectangles. But if you would like to be super helpful, adding a sc border around your rectangle would be very nice. Just make sure that even with the border you are staying within the 7 inches wide by 9 inches long dimensions. That's the most important. 😊❤️🧶
Hello Tiffany, I knitted cloths with naturally dyed plants and fruits such as turmeric, grape, beetroot and dragon fruit the yarn i used is wool and ready to be sent out to Warm up America foundation do you think they will accept it? Please let me know 😊
Great question. Generally Warm Up America is looking for donations of things that are easy to throw in the washing machine because you never know the living situation the person is in who will receive the item. Many people do not know it is important to lay flat to dry certain fibers. They have been known to take wool items in a pinch but I think moving forward I might try to use acrylic yarn. 😊❤️🧶
Hi Michelle! I did not hold a Mystery Box Giveaway in February. I got too busy to put one together. But I do plan on having one this month! My Giveaways are going to start looking a little different. Definitely make sure to have your notifications turned on and check the SHORTS section every now and then. 😊❤️🧶
I have never participated in anything like this so I'm very excited to participate! I have a question, what kind of yarn should we use, medium 4, bulky or super bulky? I'm a beginner and haven't made a shawl yet, but I want to participate in this initiative. Thank you in advance!
Hi Gisela! I'm so excited for you to join in on this Shawl Campaign! Honestly, feel free to use whatever size yarn you want to use as long as it is 100% Acrylic. The Warm Up America foundation is not picky on colors or yarn size, just mainly yarn fiber because of how the project will need to be easy maintenance to clean. Thanks for asking! 😊❤️🧶
Hi Kristen. Sorry about that. Here is a playlist where I have added all the shawls I’ve created. Click Here: Shawls & Wraps ua-cam.com/play/PL6HRmAfbRXTVpZ4d6b_bs-ThMbIblP46R.html But you could really do something super simple like chaining until you get to 60 inches long. Then make one half double crochet in the second chain from your crochet hook and make one half double crochet in each stitch space across. Then for each row just chain 1, turn your work and make one half double crochet stitch in each stitch space across. Work however many rows you need to get to approximately 25 inches in length. Easy peasy! And honestly perfect! As a newbie I do recommend you count how many stitches you have in row 1 and then make sure to count the number of stitches you have in each row so that you can keep those straight sides of you project. Have the best experience possible. Thank you so much for joining along! I hope this helps! 😊❤️🧶
That is a great question Nicola! I’m not sure but what you could do is make an internet search for charities in your area or around you. You could reach out to some churches, hospitals, elderly homes and see if they are in need of any hand crocheted items. You’d be surprised. 😊❤️🧶
Hi Tiffany….what a great campaign to help out the elderly or people in need. I have a lot going on right now…..but will try my very best to make a shawl to donate to the campaign!! Thank you sharing and letting all of us know about it. 💜🧶

@@CrochetWithTiffany thanks for the reply!
Tiffany,
Would your Cara Shawl be a good shawl for this campaign?
Great question Denise! Yes, it sure would, as long as it meets those dimensions I was referring to. 😊❤️🧶
❓❓Boxes postmarked by the 7th, or at WUA by the 7th? Thanks.
Great question! Post marked. 😊❤️🧶
Hey Tiffany can we donate a scarf instead of a shawl?
Hi Francine! You sure can. Warm Up America will be able to find the perfect place to send it. 😊❤️🧶
Hey Tiffany I have a 100% cotton shawl that is 56”by 15” I would love to donate if you think they will accept it. Let me know. Thanks
That is a great question Francine. It is a bit thin but I think they would accept it. 😊❤️🧶
I don't see your patterns for a shawl?? Are they beginner friendly? I've only been crocheting 3 months.
