After I was introduced to Rain World by Foekoe, my life has had a significant drop in quality. This is probably the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. Has nothing to do with the game 10/10 I love this stupid game with stupid critters! Thanks Foedoe the deer!

Hi-Fi Rush is absolutely amazing, not only because it innovates by uniting two different concepts of gameplay and executing it perfectly in every way, but because of what it represents on the gaming industry. It's a $30 dollar game that came out of nowhere, no hype, no marketing, the same moment it was announced was the same moment it released, and it came out polished, complete, the only DLC they put out it's only skins while the rest is unlockable by playing the game, and it's actually the best console exclusive of this generation so far. No bullshit, just a pure fun game made with a lot of charm and passion, very fun characters and (obviously) awesome music. I REALLY hope Microsoft and Bethesda goes that way instead of going through the path of Redfall.
Hi-Fi Rush was amazing. The problem is monetization. Tell me, does a $30 complete singleplayer game with no paid DLC sound sustainable? Now, what about a $(I forgot but I assume 60) buggy mess of a multiplayer game that can be milked for microtransactions and battle passes that also requires an online subscription to play on the console? If I were a greedy corporate asshole, I know what I'd pick. Unfortunate, how the world has turned out.
Instead of saying, "You didn't play Lethal Company." I'm just going to say you didn't play Touhou Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost and really the whole series.
I highly recommend checking out Laika: Aged Through Blood its a metroidvania with a sad yet beautiful story. Also, the music is done by the same person who did Friends vs Friends.

Might I recommend Fall of Porcupine? It is a fun 2D story game that came out last year that is heavily inspired by Night in The Woods. The art style is lovely, the soundtrack is a banger, the characters are fun and unique, and the game is overall a fun short journey into the world of what medical workers have to go through!

I do know that you don’t like comments like this saying like you need to play this or that game, but Fran bow is just one of those game that fascinated me since I played it. Foekoe i am telling you thst this year PT mite win again, The Noise playable trailer just came out and leaks of a brand new plable character DLC with more levels was shown eith these leaks , ALONG SIDE A NEW SPINOFF GAME BASED ON ONE OF THE CHARACTERS (Not spoiling it :P) Was also leaked and its based off another popular platformer (hint sonic or mario but he does have floating limbs)

I will preach that game to no end Edit: okay um please play Cassette beasts it’s only like 20 USD and it’s worth every penny. Fantastic music, fun creature design, the combat is so cleverly innovative and very different from Pokémon, great characters and stories, a dog, and overall just really nice vibes. It’s really worth checking out :)
The fact 2023 had an upsurge of new (lethal company, F v F) and old (deep rock galactic mainly comes to mind) indies can't wait for 2024's master pieces.
Solar Ash is also a cool adventure/platformer game that came out this year (it's on game pass in case you got it). Short, pretty, kinda interesting story wise, and fun to explore.
I know its quite silly to suggest games when there's hundreds of comments, but you need to try Crab Champions. It's a roguelike movement shooter like Roboquest, but has a bigger emphasis on combining perks. I had a lot of fun going for 100%, and once you're done you can still enjoy it's replayability. The coolest part is that it was made by Noisestorm, the guy beind crab rave.

If you liked Slayers X you should definitely play Hypnospace Outlaw, it's a really well written game where you solve crimes on the Internet, and it's the game where Zane originates
Interesting fact about Roboquest: Game music composer originally was ordered to make a funny poo-poo poppy playtime baby music for this game, because developers wanted to make the rogue-lite for kids only. But composer argued with them and said, that the game would be much better if he would make something more agressive and groovie. They accepted this, but with the proviso that if the game fail on release, he won't get any money for his work. I found out about this from some random russian podcast with the Roboquest's music composer (noisecream).

I played the re4 remake in vr and it was amazing especially the krousser fight. Being able to block his attacks in a knife fight was amazing
