Its always so funny when there’s an achievement thats literally “beat the tutorial” that somehow has a completion rate of 60%
Like HOW
moufronn
A lot of people buy or have installed a game and never play it
the 40% who did not beat the tutorial: my goals are beyond your understanding
Game journalists I guess
@@martincardenas5196 But... why?
Shoutout to Foekoe’s accent that somehow makes him saying “achievement” with a ‘K’ hidden in there right when it sounds like he will say it normally.

Grinding achievments for portal is the closest thing to masochism I have ever experienced
I remember finishing portal and getting excited to try to do the achivements.. and just saw one and give up
I really don’t want to try to gold medal the challenges
golden steps medals are evil
Better try some TF2 chalenges to
L4D2 survival achievements are evil
My favourite thing ever is when games use achievements to enhance the experience, showing the player new things. My 2 best examples:
-In a metroidvania called Chasm, there is an achievement for beating a boss fight without getting hurt. I thought it was fun, so I tried it, and got it after restarting the fight 4 times. Then it turns out, THE GAME GIVES YOU A SPECIAL WEAPON FOR EVERY BOSS YOU MANAGE TO DEFEAT THIS WAY. That feeling of discovery was great.
-In a 2D adventure game called Wandersong, you play as a Bard, and you are trying to save the world before the Hero does it, to prove yourself. And it turns out, the achievements for that game are not for things you, the Bard, can do, but rather, they are achievements for THE HERO. They unlock as you advance in the story and see how HE is progressing, not you. It makes it feel like even the game is against you, and it is an unbelievable experience.

I personally think Isaac does achievements in some of the best ways, it encourages you to do everything the game has to offer and leave your comfort zone, while also ACTUALLY REWARDING THE PLAYER WITH IN GAME CONTENT
100%, and because of this any criticism of achievements is just criticism of the game itself, which is what it should be, rather than disconnected with the gameplay in some unnecessary aside thats there for the sake of it . there are a handful of things in Isaac that straight up suck like Ultra Hard and Delirium but its fucking fantastic 95% of the time
@@FrazzleFlib preeeeeach
i agree with you but i have a counter argument, doing an entire run without picking up coins, bombs or keys is pure bs
@@cowboyslime3615 I never said EVERY achievement was good, once you have over 600 achievements in a game you end up with a few...questionable ones
Most achievements are pretty good.
Not a fan of the daily run achievements though.

To be fair, The Stanley Parable constantly makes fun of achievements so it technically does add to the experience the devs wanted you to have.
I feel like the Stanley Parable franchise is the only game where the unachievable achievements make sense

I remember when i played a flash game a lot of years ago called Achievement Unlocked 3, which was about an elephat in some kind of playground, and almost every single thing you did gave you an achievement, until you had to grind to get new achievements. It was a funny game that had clever jokes about the state of achievements on its age.
John Cooney/jmtb02 was *the* game maker on Armor Games in its heyday. He also made the Dark Cut series, Hedgehog Launch, and This is the Only Level.
I always felt the binding of Isaac handled achievements the best, since each achievement earned gives you a new unlockable item to use in future runs. It gives a more tangible reason to go after 100 %.
This brings back memories of completing a jack load of achievements to have a better gamerscore than my friends.
Good stuff.
moufronn
real
I still do this
I love how you say it
"ackchievement"
I love when games have a built in achievement system like hades, getting an achievement in that game gives you resources to use so there's actual incentive to do them all.
Also haven't seen it mentioned: arkham city is miserable to fully complete. A handful of achievements are tied to challenge mode, which just bloats the game an insane amount. Each stage has 3 medals to earn and there are 200+ medals for each character, and you have to replay EVERY SINGLE STAGE with all 4 characters that play almost exactly the same
risk of rain 2 also has that where you unlock new characters, abilities, and items along with the achievements... actually now that i think about it i don't think there is a single achievement that doesn't unlock you something with it
You’ve never heard of Muck achievements
I love rain world achievements because of this, letting you fast travel to somewhere once you get an achievement is amazing
Yeah hades does them perfectly
Man, this video really describes perfectly what i feel. Like, hunting achievements in games can really add much fun to the experiencie. Multiple times they encourage you to play some levels or the whole game in a way you hadn't thought, or sometimes they are challenges to your skill as a player.
The only games that i've completed with all achievements on steam are Pizza Tower and Katana Zero, cause they don't have those outdated/forgotten/imposible/stupid grinding achievements. It really feels bad when you look a game that you really enjoy having one of those.
I appreciate your dedication with completing games, it's impressive. Good video man and greetings from Venezuela!
Achievements are so goddamn fun. The dopamine my monkey brain gets when that little pop sound plays as I finish the most time-consuming experience of my life and the sigh of relief after it’s done is incredible. 10/10 would recommend dopamine

As a fellow (and somewhat aspiring) achievement hunter, absolutely loved this video! probably my favorite you've ever made
As much as I love Kingdom Rush games, their achievements are awful with every other achievement being just "have tower do [x] 34347389 times" with a few of them being hours of mindless grinding.
i like your videos

I relate to this one personally considering some of the achievements in Littlebigplanet require you to play the online mode and publish levels, but the servers were hacked and got taken down so it's no longer possible to get any of those achievements.

What sucks more is not just the achievements being flat out impossible to achieve anymore, the unique gamemodes are also discontinued as well. They were super fun too and I miss playing them. It also makes me feel bad for new players who never got to play the game when it was still being supported.
I honestly had fun with beating boss hunt with randoms
After I watch every single one of your videos, I can safely say I have 100% complete the Foekoe channel
Just wait for free content update and and onlyfans DLC
100% complete Markiplier's channel now
You gotta rematch them on 1.75x speed for the speedrun achievement
So you got all the akchievments?
BRO ive been grinding the moist critikal channel for years now but its starting to seem that its a live service kindof thing
I honestly never look for achievements since I barely have time to play games to completion, but I love designing achievements myself.
I try to make my achievements consist half of rewards for you to keep playing the game, like finishing a chapter, and half of those that are an actual challenge you need to work for, like finding secrets or play the game with a handicap.
None require you to do something 1000 times, they require you to have fun with the game. I hope my way is good to make them enjoyable.
Some achievements literally spell out to you: "the definition of insanity"
c'mon, that jd2015 achievement isn't that hard, only takes like 10 minutes
Tomorrow is my birthday, and I saw you made a new video. This video got me thinking of all the games I played in the past. It had me super happy. I especially love the end with the stock subscribe that EVERYONE uses and the endcard is just you showing off your perfect games on steam. Perfect. 10/10
As someone who has 100% Stardew Valley recently, I'd say the Craft Master Achievement was not as bad as some of the others. There aren't that many recipes in the game and there is an option in the settings that allows you to easily track your progress.
I can see it being painful for those who might've not planned for it properly. From the minute I started Stardew I knew I was going for all the achievements so I made sure to save every scrap of material I came across and kept an eye on crafting recipes that mightve been missable (like the recipe you get for collecting all rarecrows). Plus your going to be going for other stuff as you do this anyways
It really perplexes me that such a chill game with a very, very casual playerbase has an achievement for completing the brutal arcade game without dying once. doesnt really make sense lmao
@@FrazzleFlib the dev in an interview said they regretted making such a hard achievement. It got patched so you could sleep between days and it'll save your progress
getting the radioactive ore was so fucking tough, i had to wait for an hour or so for mr qi to give the right challenge then grind to get all the ore i need. other than that, it wasnt a bad experience
I respect the achievement grind but after some time I realized I was the only person that cared about my own achievements. I still display the ones that were hard to get on my steam profile and that I put time and effort into, because they mean something special to me. I find it really hard to care about 100% though because I've started to respect my own time more, and the specific achievements that I care about are the only ones that mean anything to me, like Steel Heart in Hollow Knight or Nothing left to collect in Dead Cells. It took time and effort to get those and I display them because I am proud of it, but I don't think I would ever be proud of having achievements that are hard to get or time consuming but not really difficult.

I can't believe it's almost been two years since that Celeste vid u made, you were and still are one of my favorites on this platform, and I really hope you keep up the grind and don't let the low performance get to you, your vids inspire me and make me laugh and think, what you do on UA-cam is truly special and something unique.
Achievements are a blessing and a curse at the same time
moufronn
I was hoping you would mention TF2's unobtainable achievement: Getting 100k UA-cam views on a gameplay clip. It used to be achievable, but the API that kept track of it doesn't work anymore, and probably never will.
It's rare that we see a video that isn't focused on a specific game, but rather a vage subject. Hope to see more of it, you are realy good at this.
Can someone give this guy an award for best accent? This dude, his content, and accent are just amazing. This guy deserves 10m subs
Gotta say Everhood got some simple but good achievements. Most of them are for defeating enemies no hit. Some of them are really hard but they are fair.
Also I love how you pronounce achievements.
incinerator part II my behated
Idk, the achievements where you have to walk down a hallway for 4+ hours and jumproll 150,000 times are pretty monotonous.
What I'm trying to do is no hitting every single fight in Everhood to be able to put that 100% game completion on my profile
Yeah it's pain and suffering
Yeah I'm a masochist I play IWBTG fangames a lot of bullet hell games
I love achievement hunting because it gives you a secondary objective to most games but any achievement that requires you to play the game over at LEAST over 100 days makes EVERY OTHER achievement less enjoyable to work towards because you know that beautiful 100% is so far away
I think I have a very different outlook on Achievements than you. While I think some of the really grindy Achievements like Man Versus Machine or Supreme Helper Minion might be a bit too much, but a lot of the really crazy ones you mentioned I personally liked. The Achievement for purifying an entire world is honestly a really good achievement. The entire game you have the Dryad constantly telling you that you need to cleanse the world, and honestly doing it isn't crazy hard. The idea of conquering an insanely unfair level is thrilling, and with Fall Guys being a good amount of luck it must feel great to actually get it by sheer chance.
And finally, I personally think the Go Outside achievement is possibly the best achievement in any game I've played. The game is about being meta, it's about redefining what a video game is. The idea of an achievement that asks you to finish the game and then forget about it for ten years until you're ready to come back for nostalgia ten years later is really cool.
I dunno, those sorts of seemingly impossible achievements have always seemed cool to me
Console Terraria has an achievement for fully CORRUPTING the world and ALSO for fully hallowing it. 100x worse and ive done both, though thankfully the hallow one bugged so i didnt really have to do it, so Steam's purification achievement seems extremely easy to me, couldnt you just go into a new world with a clentaminator, clear both corrupt biomes and youre done? you can easily do that in under an hour. That said, I havent done it since i havent played vanilla terraria properly in years. and yeah, supreme helper minion should not exist lmao. if you dont make new worlds to grind it faster, thats 100 real hours worth of ingame days doing the quest every day.
The biggest pain an achievent has caused on me was "the marathon" in the binding of isaac, not because it's hard but because it was bugged and it took months to get it fixed
Currently working on getting all of deep rock galactic trophies and it's a blast cuz the Devs actually thought of fun things for me to do rather than just grab X amount of item or kill X amount of enemy's
I love the way Devil Daggers and Hyper Demon did achievements by having just one extremely hard achievement. Keeping the theme of everything being simple yet challenging
I remember spending entire days trying to get every tf2 achievement, and I barely got half of them done, tf2 achievements are hard you guys 🤣

sometimes it amazes me how someone can be so dedicated to videogames... not even a single game i mean just in general. like i have a few games that i play regularly and im semi good at them but those games that peak my interest and absorb almost all my free time after a while i inevitably get bored of it and start playing it less and less. i just couldn't FATHOM the idea of how much time and fucking effort it takes to be so incredibly skilled at so many videogames like foekoe is like oh my god. and this is coming from someone who is definitely an avid videogame player i mean its paratactically literally all i talk about irl and online really.
The best achievement aside from being fun is that it rewards you something in the game with a piece of fun mechanic you can toy around with.
The Fall Guys Infallible achievement used to at least be something to brag about, but about a year ago they added a mode called "Sweet Thieves" where rounds last around 5 minutes each, and are insanely easy to win, meaning the achievement went from the hardest task in the game to play sweet thieves for 30 minutes.
World's easiest achievement: Enjoy a Foekoe video
Darktide - "Going out with a Bang" - as a psycher, on Malice difficulty or higher, kill 3 elite enemy units in a single perils of the warp explosion.
>Perils is a very bad thing. It automatically downs your character.
>Your explosion has a radius of 5 meters.
>It does 500 damage.
>The average elite enemy has 1,200 health.
>They are also surrounded by lesser minions.
>The best way to achieve this is to have 3 allies all help you get it by clearing the dregs while deliberately not shooting the elites (bad idea) then *carefully* wounding them before your psycher runs up and self-destructs by purposely burning themselves with warp overcharging.
As soon as I download the game, I think "Maybe this time I'll get the damn platinum trophy?". Then I start playing and I know it will take longer than I thought

GOOD achievements are ones that teach you about the game... SOME of TeamFortress2's achievements are like this:
"use airblast to extinguish a teammate" COOL.
"Rocketjump very high" TF is a rocketjump *googles it*... OH COOL!
"Use an uber to bodyblock an enemy uber" NEAT, nice strat
"Use jarate/madmilk to extinguish a teammate" neat didn't know that would work.
"Heal an engy while they repair a sentry", makes sense... heal engy so he doesn't die, so the sentry doesn't die. TEAM WORK!
And then there's some bad achievements:
"Headshot all 9 classes in a single game with the arguably worst sniperrifle in the game" NO!.
"As pyro use axe to kill 3/6 ppl in a SINGLE life" That doesn't teach me anything and rewards the Enemyteam with my suicidal melee tendencies.
"Kill 1 MILLION robots" Do you enjoy watching me suffer?
The fact you 100% Isaac will forever baffle me. Amazing job. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day! 💜

I really feel this with grinding on ace combat 7 taking forever to get the last multiplayer achievement when the game has a dead multiplayer and it’s on the mode almost no one plays.
I respect you going for the extra achievements in a over total of 90 games! I usually just ignore that shit lmao.
The achievement for A Little To The Left reminds me of the Daily Reid achievement in Bloons TD 6, which is to do 365 daily challenges

im actually impressed just by seeing foekoe has completed the binding of Isaac
Just because that is a Nightmare to fully complete 100% so respect to those who did
11:40 I would argue craft master in Stardew Valley isn't that bad, it took me a while to get it, sure, but it does actually feel fairly engaging and interesting collecting things you might not normally care about to make things you haven't made before. It's not like you're doing the same thing over and over like a lot of other achievements of that nature.
7 Day Survivor would be bearable if you could save your game. Keep the perma death and wipe the save file the moment you die for all I care, I just can’t dedicate a full 14-hours of nonstop playing.
And that doesn’t even consider the possibility of freezing/crashing. Not only can Infinity Mode crash in specific areas at specific times (there’s a guide somewhere online that documents this), but keep in mind that Dead Rising was originally an early Xbox 360 title, and many of those older consoles were prone to stuff like overheating
imagine having a life in the outside world, i can do the 14 hour achievement no problem
ive suffered through that fishing achievement in terraria for over 3 GOD DAMN YEARS and when I got it done i about passed out out of pure pain.
im never touching a fishing rod ever again
Getting an achievement feels as good as my dad being proud of me 🥹
Funny achievements thread.
I remember one game called "Dungeons of Dredmor". At launch it had an achievement which name I don't remember, but it asked for you to MEET THE DEV IRL AND DRINK BEER WITH THEM, then the achiv will be given to you manually. The dev wanted it to be "unlisted" and didn't count for 100% completion, but it was impossible to do and ultimately the achievement was removed. And now the icing on the cake. This didn't help the game to 100% anyway since it still, up to this day, has one broken unobtainable achievement.
The GW 2 one hit me personally, I only have 2 achievements left to 100% the game, and those are the Boss battle specialist and Boss battle Boss.
Pain.
Also side note: The Mistery Portal is still active monthly, but the events that are required for the achievements aren't, and the community challenges are dead
there is never been a more relatable comment in the entire history of UA-cam

One of my personal favourote set of achievements is the in game achievements for kid icraus uprising that ask you to beat each chapter on the highest difficulty without dying once, with a specific weapom type. It encourages trying and really learning all the weapons each for specific levels so you learn really well certain interactions.
Also the xenoblade 1 achievement for falling off the bionis its funny especially in the context of when it is first possible.

Speaking of GW2 I think a bit earlier of when this video released people who play the game started a thing called save GW2 mostly because the servers were mostly because the servers were down so you had to play a private match. But it was still cool to see
the mystery portal is still active, but the modes you were talking about don't appear in it so you're still correct.
