The patio is absolutely beautiful...🌿 but one thing is missing...you need a small water feature close by so you can listen to the water trickle while sipping your wine...as for the sandals, try sketchers!!

Anything Vionic. They have the best arch support. I own about 30 Vionic thongs in every color. Their driving shoes, if you can find them, are the best and Tennis shoes too. I had planter faciities and these were the only shoes that I could wear and they repaired my heels.

Linda FIT FLOP IS THE SANDAL FOR WALKING GIVING GREAT SUPPORT.
I love Clark’s sandals. They are called sandals but I really see them as flip flops. I have them in EVERY color.
I also love my Clarks. Have had surgery on both feet and can still walk in them.
I have several pairs of Clark shoes and I love them all. They give great support for walking.
Clarks Breeze Sea style is really cute!! They really are the most comfortable sandals/flip flops ever. I can walk around in them all day. They’re very cushiony. I have 5 colors, and I want more!

What a cute and wonderful daughter in law you have! Looks like you have so much fun together. I can't believe the transformation in your front yard. How beautiful. my husband had a metal box like that and he used it to store his gun cleaning supplies in it.
Vionics is my favorite shoe brand, wore them all over Rome walking 25 miles a day, the are not cheap but so worth it. Lots of cute styles. They were developed by a pediatrist.
Birkenstocks provide good support. It's so nice to see some of your family and your daughter in law seems lovely! I can tell you all have so much fun together. The "social patio" is such a novel, genius idea. It's a great way to meet your neighbours who you otherwise would have not crossed paths with.

While you were thrifting I saw the old filing cabinets! Remove the drawers paint it black or whatever and lay it in its side and you have a great modern planter!

Keen has wonderful closed toe sandals which i wore the last 3 days non-stop with running, playing soccer , going on walks with my 2 young grandkids. (I forgot my tennies). These Keens have never let me down. I normally wear insole supports but these sandals can be worn alone; they are made with arch needs in mind. Linda from NE
I just love thrifting!! Its so fun to find the diamond in the rough! I have Teva sandals that I wear when ill be doing alot of walking and want my feet to stay cool, very comfortable! I'm finding as I get older I'm more worried about comfort than I am in the cuteness factor 😁. The gardens are looking so beautiful! I've had a lot of takeaways and inspiration for my new gardens at my new to us home, thank you!!!!
Your social patio is an equivalent to what we in the Caribbean call a “gallery” (porch),where neighbours visit and we watch people go by and say hello to passers by,it’s a wonderful place

I've been watching your progress and can't believe how quickly the front area now looks as if it's been there for much longer. I really appreciate the "front patio". In my neighborhood, in Southern CA, several of us spend time outdoors when the weather's nice, and as evening approaches may gather at one place or another for a glass of wine or whatever. Or even in the summer, when mornings are nice, we may collect to enjoy coffee.

Your social patio turned out so wonderful and that umbrella and stand, table and basket looks great! You most definitely needed the umbrella! The side yard looks fabulous! The sod and stone/brick work looks safer as well as pleasing to the eye.

Loved seeing Jaimers and Taylor. What fun you must have had. Also I must say , I am always so envious of your thrift shops. Yours have so much more housewares, baskets, glasswares. And it kills me when you put something back that I am searching for. I would definitly buy the wicker ottoman. What a score for such style. Turning the corner onto the side yard has really turned out beautifully. Love all the flagstone and plantings. Can't wait for it all to start filling in.

What a lovely video, so nice to see you with your daughter-in-law. When you spoke about “young Jamie” not appreciating living in old houses it made me laugh. I’m 68yo. My parents were really into antiques and our home was full of that type of thing. I was so envious of my friends who had more modern homes, full of “Spanish” style furniture and shag carpeting. I was always whining “why can’t we have nice furniture like xx” what a brat I was. Fast forward and I LOVE all of my antiques. Anyhow your comments made me think of when I was young and I appreciate that. You have a lovely daughter-in-law and she has a wonderful mother-in-law. My favorite brand of shoes is Naot made in Israel. So very comfortable and well made.
I am so happy you are enjoying living downtown. We used to live downtown Phoenix and patios in the front yard were very popular. The are used for social gathering for coffee and cocktails. In the neighborhoods with large lots mommies sit out front and socialize while the kiddos play in the yard. You are living your best life Linda!! 😃
Vionic shoe brand is good for supportive but cute shoes. All their shoes have an orthopedic sole.

A suggestion for summer sandals. Fit Flops. They are so comfortable, many styles. I wore a pair while touring Paris. My feet never hurt. I always get compliments when I am wearing them. I have numerous pairs

I live in Clarks shoe/sandals/clogs. Have been wearing them for years. You can wear them all day when you first open the box and they are so comfy!!

I love your social patio! When a home does not have a front porch your social patio takes its place. I think it's a wonderful idea that brings neighbors together again. You are a very outgoing person and people are attracted to you. And what a beautiful setting to gather in. And for those who enjoy privacy Linda will make her backyard just as beautiful.

FITFLOPS!!! Definitely try fit flops. They are so comfortable and have more than just flip-flops. They have special what they call wobble board technology in their soles and your feet don’t hurt at all. Youcould walk all day. And the shoes last for years!

Linda, I went to London a few years ago needed good shoes to walk all over the place. Now this isn’t a thrift it would be a splurge, Ecco shoes are wonderful! You can get sandals or closed toed slider shoes that have wonderful arch support... they are expensive but I have worn several of myEcco shoes for several years now I’m talking one pair is almost 20 years old. I still use them for yard shoes... yes they are on the pricey side, but this Little Rock Girl walked all over London and the shoes were absolutely wonderful, comfortable, and easy to care for
