What do you suggest? Is it shaft the problem? Sole on my irons? All I want, is to go back and play! I am willing to change strike by hitting more up on the ball, but what shafts or irons should I go for? Really need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great WITB 👏🏻, I’ve got a 9 degree SIM 2 with a ventus black 6s but feels a little soft through the hit and is going to high. Will tipping it help or should I just get a 6x and an 8 degree head?
@trottiegolf - So you are saying that I can use my favourite club(3w), find out the swing weight, and build the rest of the clubs to be the same? Or do you go for lighter swing weights in the Driver, fairway and hybrid, slightly heavier in the irons, and heavier still in the wedges? Thanks for the great content!
Great video!! Quick question on swing weights on the irons. As a fellow 5 7” ish guy, I’m comfortable with 1/4 short, but find most manufacturers are making irons longer and longer, so if I cut them down, the sw ends up in C range. With a quick tempo, I prefer the feel of D3, D4. Any thoughts on how address this? Thanks again for a great video.
IO - Individually optimized launch & flight, more like a flighted shaft, meaning higher launch in longs & lower in shorts. LZ - Loading Zone. Bend profile in the mid section I believe & launches a bit higher through the set. I did play LZ but they played really soft for me & I floated them, not my bag at all but I think I got the wrong flex in them initially & that put me off
Thanks Trots. I am going to mix my 7MC's into the bag with my P770's, starting with the 6 iron. Only thing is, I have TT DG S400 in the 770's and the TT DG S400 120 gm's in the 7MC's. Any suggestion about that. Should I have the same shaft across the 770's and 7MC's? I am playing the same wedges as you in 52,56,60 as I have removed the 3 iron and instead using last years SIM 3 Hybrid instead. Great videos!! Thx always
I would work on having the same shafts if you can, although the way you have it with the heavier options in the short irons is the only way that could work
@@trottiegolf Trots, I have the heavier shafts in the 4 and 5 irons(DG Tour Issued S400's vs the Tour Issued S400 in 120) but the swing weights are the same for both sets. Is that manageable or do I need to change the shafts to be the same?

No not necessarily, I think it’s important to have each wood dialed in for it’s specific requirements & if that means different shafts then I’m cool with that
Two questions on the hi Toes’ because two fitters guided me two different routes. First should I match the wedge shafts to my irons ($-Taper 120g or Modus 120g) as one fitter suggested or do I go with the other Rec (S400)? Second Q is if my PW is 43.5° and the set AW is 49°, what wedge setup would you rec in the hi toe Raw, 1 fitter said 56/60° and the other 54/58° or should I split the difference and go 54/60°?
Player dependent. The 58 will give you a little more distance at the bottom of the bag while still allowing you to play shots where you need a lot of heighth. I play 45, 50, 54, 58 myself and have no issues hitting lob shots or shots 80 yards and in.
Sorry I should’ve asked my question better - do your irons have any weight in the shafts? I started to build my own clubs and I watch you share tour player specs on IG and I started to wonder how often are builders using weights during the build process to hold the constant swing weights for irons/wedges (and obviously your set as well).

Trottie, being a shorter guy (5'7), should the lengths be shorterned at all? I know it depends on alot of things but when I was fitted they told me they typically dont cut length off, just bent the irons one way or the other. I was fitted for 1* UP standard length. In a prior fitting they told me to go -.5". Thanks buddy!
Sounds like you might swing it a little steep if you need 1up & you’re 5”7... first question would be are you working on changing your action? If so then keep a look out on that lie angle & move it flatter as you become more efficient at keeping the handle lower through impact. As for the length, I went 1/4” shorter and I’m (give or take) 5’7. I could easily go back to std length but have adjusted to the -.25” now, I’d look at strike, if that’s centered & you can work on that flatter delivery then stay at standard, if you’re looking for a little help then go a touch shorter BUT be mindful of centered strike .... hope that helps 👍🏻
