Same. I'm gonna find some sand to make glass though to replace the nether blocks. I like how this design looks. Still haven't found a desert biome in this world r.i.p. this might take a while. I suggest anyone build with whatever material you have available except burnable wood, as getting the shape of the cage is the most important part, especially the roof. Also, stop them from spawning with glowstone blocks and spam torches if the glowstones blocks still aren't getting the job done.
Thanks for pointing this out because I hate manufacturing glass and stone although I love the look. I want to make this farm for a modded SMP server I play on and typically for industrial buildings I just use cheap blocks like cobblestone or nether brick (from demolishing fortress pillars) and then I reserve prettier blocks like stone, blackstone, and terracotta for personal builds and our common area.
For those having a hard time with the blazes spawning nonstop. Build a 9x9 plateform with the spawner as the center and put a torch on every block. Worked for me
I found this but instead of torches, a second layer on top of the platform worked to block all spawn area. I also built it out of wood so I could just burn it away after I'd built the farm around it. While building the platform, if any blazes spawned i'd run 128 blocks away to make them despawn.
Surprisingly it actually works, little slow but much better than many other mob farms I've tried making before. Added bonus of blaze rods being a good fuel source.
Awesome. Will be building this tomorrow. This is one of the mob farms I’m still yet to build. And got the perfect blaze spawner close to my nether highway to give me easy access when it’s needed
Really good farm. Still works very well in Bedrock 1.20. I didn’t use glass but still works so use any block doesn’t matter. After afking for only 5 mins I have tones of blazes in the killing chamber. Really good farm.
for anyone who cant find a warped forest, you can use any type of trapdoor. They will light any air blocks as if they were flammable but they will not be burned up by any method. Overall, amazing tutorial though.
If you guys haven't already I recommend adding a trident killer because if you just hold up your loading sword you can AFK while having looting so pretty good
Tip: Do NOT put any slabs in the top of the spawner because it decreases the blaze that spawn instead put a temporary block in the top of the spawner and put a glass in the top of that temporary block then remove the temporary block, this is so whenever a blaze spawns on the top of the spawner they will fall. This only works if your blaze spawner is 2 blocks high from the ceiling
I just built this in Bedrock. It works fantastically. I got a stack of blaze rods in only about 5-10 minutes (with looting III, your mileage may vary). And much safer than my previous method of just rushing in slashing lmao. Getting the glass is easy if you have lots of mid-tier librarians to trade with. I dyed mine red with poppies from my iron farm, and it looks so imposing with the nether brick. Time to stop putzing around with kelp blocks and fuel my super smelter properly!
It seemed to be hard to reach the far 2 blocks in the killing chamber, so i lowered the chest by one block so that i could move closer and reach all the blaze with sweeping edge, works perfectly now! Dont forget you get more blaze with looting sword!
Yesterday I had a hard time farming XP with my girlfriend. Today, I decided to make an XP farm to surprise her and I just finished this one! I´ll keep u guys updated about her reaction. Also, thanks for the tutorial
It should only take four pistons if you do it right and I still prefer them for old times sake even though lava is easier. 9x9 room with a 1 block hole in the middle. 4 pressure plates around the hole, then comparators in subtract mode going into a row of blocks w/ normal pistons above the comparators facing the hole. Run redstone from the side of the comparators to a repeater pointing into the back of the pistons on top of the row of blocks. If it is done right the pistons should cycle forever as long as something is on the pressure plate. Click on the repeaters once to slow down the piston cycling so that mobs do not get stuck in them. Cover the piston, repeater, redstone, and one block tall row of block with half slabs to prevent mobs from walking over them to the other sides, which forces them to path though the center of the room, and then it is rock'em sock'em blazes time. As long as the main floor is low enough blazes will keep spawning.
Hi, just wanted to say thank you for the lovely farm! I built this in Java Survival 1.20 and it works great. The spawner closest to my base was in the basalt delta and partially buried into the wall so I had to deal with magma cubes and clear a bunch of blocks out while building. Fire resist potions are recommended, but you can't brew it yet, a set of Fire Protection armor would help. I used oak trapdoors for the four doors in the hole which works without issue. In the beginning, I was able to kill the blazes that still spawned but after I had half the area cleared out, it became a lot more difficult. So I cleared out a small hallway around the walls for cover and periodically traveled back to my nether portal over 128 blocks away to despawn the blazes. When I finally finished the farm and set up a staircase to the kill chamber, with a Looting III sword I had about 6 stacks of blaze rods.
Love this farm! Works in bedrock 1.19, fairly simple build however you have to break alot of blocks depending on the spawner location you have to build the enclosure. It is worth it in the end though. 2 stacks of blaze rods in 20 minutes with looting 3 sword, can't beat that!
Hey my friends server apparently lets people mine spanwers with silk touch, so I placed this in the overworld. Lava will not travel as far so you must use water, and extra water sourceblocks in a plus formation as well as the corners (adjacent to the spawner on the edge) You also need signs on top of the trapdoors, and sometimes the blazes die in the water but thats ok cause it gives more rods. You can even stack two spawners in there. Works great!
We were playing on a server, so we couldn't change the difficulty. We were two people, one was killing, one was building, and it was still hell and took 4 hours, but don't take me wrong, we had a blast, haha. We had fun and the farm works really well, but we wish we had been 3 people, two on the killing, one building.
Built this today and it works absolutely flawlessly. I went with a Trident killer so I can AFK while I sleep. More blaze rods than you can shake a blaze rod at! Thanks Oink!
my hubs and I built this and took turns with our bows taking out blazes until he finally conceded and went to peaceful. I love this farm! Thanks for the tutorial!!
tysm! also, i built this in the overworld and it worked perfect, you just have to replace the lava with water. this also helps with damaging the blazes too, making them a bit easier to kill.
Thanks legend... Was able to make it in survival (hard) and works a treat. Once you clear all the block around it they stopped spawning and used fire resistance potions, only cost me one totem while making it... Now I can stop using lava for fuel and just use the rods... In Rod me trust!!

another comment said you dont need to use glass, but if you do, i recommend bringing a little more than 9 stacks as the build uses a little more and if youre like me, you accidentally break a few

If you want a good mob farm for XP then I'd recommend an Enderman farm like the one Shulkercraft has a video on
Or if you want an insane xp farm make silentwhispers gold farm you can get 300 levels in a night of afk
Even make a furnace xp farm with cactus running into them

Instead of using a slab, you can put a piece of glass a block above the spawner. That will automatically push blazes to the side.
