Obsessed from a young age with Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Jervis Tetch, an expert hypnotist, embraced a delusion that he was the incarnation of a character in the story, The Mad Hatter.

He prefers Joker
Apparently that's too terrifying even for him.
Joker would probably do the same thing. After all, he did find Professor Pyg disturbing.

I found him really cool anyway i found Batman arkham ra's or ras al gual scarier

@@amazingtrick5886 "singy voice" Creepy.
Here's what I gathered from this: Arkham Origins: Mad Hatter wants Batman as a body guard for "Alice" Arkham City: Mad Hatter wants Batman as his enforcer Arkham Knight: Mad Hatter is gay for Batman
Correction: In Arkham Knight, Hatter wants to drive Batman crazy and to take control of him.
Asvin Sharma That's part of it I'm sure but after he's arrested, he talks about wanting Batman to come cuddle with him in his cell
its hinted that he's gay for batman in arkham knight, as he starts calling batman Alice, a name usely reserved for Woman mad hatter kidnaps and heavily implied rapes. and, as pirate772009 pointed out, at some point he asks batman to cuddle up with him in his cell. he also mentions that there tea for two, and that he and batman can still be friends. I believe that over time throughout the arkham games his obsessions with batman get worse and worse till he goes from wanting batman as a bodyguard to wanting batman as a partner to wanting batman as a boyfriend. when batman defeats him and throws him into a cell, he sees it as a break up of sorts, and therefore tells batman that theres tea for two, and that they can still be friends.
...
or maybe he just wanted to control batman's mind. I don't know. this is just my interpretation. if anyone has any evidence against this theory, I'd like to hear it.
biznu bizzness when he says Alice im pretty sure hes just quoting from the book (idk ive never read it).
He literally said "Batman be my Alice" and in-game documents say his obsession with Alice has gotten worse to the point he's been kidnapping guys and dressing them in drag before brainwashing and then killing them. So yeah point is he's definitely gay for Batman.
15:06 "Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! The Batman's here, it's time to play."
Love that line delivery. His third Arkham appearance, yet the first time I felt like the Hatter was a threat on par with the other major villains
The reason Jervis was more insane years later in City and Knight than in Origins is because Sharp was so sickened by his crimes he locked him in a deep part of Arkham Asylum and took all his hats.
You see if the video was more like your comment I would have gave it a like but unfortunately it's not. Love your comment though
I have searched for Hatter's origin and apparently he lost his mind due to the drugs he took, which were supposed to increase his height. Now he is known to be a pedophile and rapists, so that explains why he acts like a creepy psycho
The Arkham City tapes reveal alot between Strange and Jervis! There was a cut Poison Ivy hedge maze from Arkham Asylum where Jervis would be in the middle of the maze, would have been a cool little mission and story progression for Hatter to see how he's been experimented on leading into City
@@gildragongamer73That also explains why Batman LOATHES him.
Batman in Wonderland.. would watch 100/10 IGN
I'll take a ticket!
Gamer Guy I'd watch it too.
I'm wondering why so many guys don't know the mad hatter. He's one of the best villains, because of his mind and his magic power, ya know?
I never liked Wonderland. I prefer Angelland ha ha ha.
it would be awesome if Nolan could bring the mad hatter into the dark knight trilogy and mix it with inception - how cool would that be?
Hatter was originally gonna be in arkham asylum but he got replaced by Poison ivy
For the best I'd say otherwise we never would've gotten a boss fight with Her.
Considering that Ivy was an important part in Asylum, i doubt that was the case.
But he was gonna have a maze that served as entertainment for children in the game.
Madhatter would have been redundant with Scarecrow around.
Really? I doubt he could have had as big of an impact as Ivy did.
Annother reason i hate ivy

One of my favorite Batman Villains. Mainly cuz Alice's adventures in Wonderland is actually one of my favorite Stories. Granted I watched the Cartoon Disney version and the Tim Burton version. I liked them both.
Rolyn Georges
The Mad Hatter in Disney’s Alice In Wonderland isn’t Jervis Tetch and a Batman villain.
He’s not even a villain.
-_-
He is a good character though.
I love both the villain and the non-villain of Mad Hatter.
Mad Hatter has to be one of my top 3 favorite Batman villains.
You have read the books though right?
As well as mine too.
Original book. Its sequel.
Then to disney version.

I like how he only speaks in rhyme. It's like a compulsive disorder that Jervis has. Clever idea in Arkham Knight. He does it in Origins sometimes, too. Like he is developing the habit slowly.
His file said he has ocd and Schizophrenia i think
Knight had the best costume
City had the best boss fight
Origins had the best level
Combining them would have made something beautiful.
That would be such a cool idea
Origins has the best Boss Battles
Asylum has the best environment
City has the best story
Knight has the best game play

Best Villain Ever. He's so creepy yet mysterious. Which I love.
Can we give some credit to the voice actor for such an incredible performance of this character, he should continue to b him, just like Mark Hamil is for the joker.

I'm sure Jervis did too.
More Arkham character compilations coming! For sure we'll be doing Penguin, and also a updated "Joker Story v2. We've seen request for Two Face and Riddler as well, but two-face doesn't really have much aside from his Arkham City stuff. Everything else on him is kinda of dull, but we'll take a better look at it this weekend. Riddler is just too much guys. Honestly, I like how he transitions into rhyming his words. He speaks somewhat normally in Origins and City (besides the insanity), but in Arkham Knight, he just speaks in rhymes. That's why Rocksteady is the best!
It seems batman's villains either want to kill him, are half in love with him, or both.

I like how Jervis seems to get more and more deranged as the series progresses.

Peter MacNicol's voice acting is terrific.. he also did a splendid Renfield in Dracula: Dead and Loving It
I liked him as Doctor Octopus too.
Would love to see Mad Hatter on the big screen one day.
The recent leak on the new Batman movies plot says that he’ll play a minor role as an informant.
Tetch clearly isn't mono, maybe he's bi
But actually, I don't think he'd identify
As concerned with such trifles I reckon he's not.
The perfect Alice inhabitor shall be got
Whether normal society puts it in dresses
Or trousers, or batsuits, or anyone's guesses
For in Jervis's Wonderland, the victim's voice null,
They'll wear what he wants, and play to the role.
He's done deals with supers and used them to ends
But they're only side interests, none who pretend
To be fixed on his acts lest their goals are aligned,
Except one who now sticks to him time after time
So the more that this caped crusader takes an interest,
The more of a main character he posesses
As why would the story be centered around he?
Unless he is Alice, and it's time for tea.
Jane Ross I was entertained reading this

He's alicesexual
It should be considered a crime that the Rabbitman costume was not wearable outside of the Mad Hatter mission.
Watching all these Arkham videos just makes me want to go back and replay the series from the beginning.

I can't help but feel bad for this version of him. He's clearly not all there and just wanted to be noticed.
Seeing Mad Hatters schemes makes me wonder and slightly be impressed on how much work and time he put into his crimes. Making specialized masks based on characters and rabbits infused with mind control technology. Setting up cop cars to blow and placing them where in some cases shouldn’t be possible. Personalized a book to trap batman with all there past encounters. All while sitting in an interrogation room under constant surveillance.

@@raphaelbrown6314 yep and manbat from the Batman 2004
I don't think Mad Hatter is necessarily attracted to Batman, I think it's more about the Hatter wanting control over him. I could be wrong and this is just my opinion, but the Mad Hatter, while he may have a romantic/sexual attraction for the character Alice, his obsession for Alice seems to be more focused on controlling her. In all three games (origins, city, and knight) he mentions how he likes to have complete control over people to the point where they do literally anything he wants (and this is true, not just for Alice or Batman but for the Hatter's henchmen too) he also mentions in origins and city how difficult Alice is to control even with his skills in mind control...which may be why he ultimately killed multiple women he called Alice (as stated in the patient interview in Arkham City between Hugo Strange and Hatter), because he couldn't control them. But that's just my theory.

Jervis was such a creepy presence in the Arkham series. More so later on because he went insane but his rhymes went together really well in season of infamy.
Plus I'd be curious to hear "joker's" thoughts on Jervis in Knight (felt like they never interacted in the series)
(After learning about the captured cops) “Never a dull night for The Batman, huh Bruce? You saw how upset Commissioner Judes got when he heard his little girl got wheeled away by Todders, we better get those cops back before he finds out.”
(After retrieving the book) “Y’know, I got a bad feeling about all this. What if he hypnotises you and forces you to kill? Why couldn’t it‘ve been the Blue Boy Scout? You’re mine to force to kill and no one else’s! Now let’s let Hatter know that.”
(After getting hypnotised) “Looking cute in frills, Bruce!”
(After locking Hatter up) “If I wasn’t dead and needing Fear Toxin to function, I’d kill Hatter right now. I have to remember to come back here next time I take over your mind to get back at him for what he did to you. Why am I caring so much? It’s obvious, Mister ‘world’s greatest detective’, Tetch nearly stole my idea of controlling your mind and turning you into a killing machine, and that’s what I’m gonna do to you.”
“If I didn’t want to kill him before, I really do now! Don’t worry, Batsy darling, I know you were nearly forced to.”

I don’t know. For me (obsessed with Alice especially American McGees Alice.) I love the idea of wonderland. Reality in itself is cruel and unfair everything being ruled by chance (which is why I love joker is almost chance personified.) so you have a innocent girl like Alice and you put her in a cruel and depressing place like wonderland (which is an allegory for growing up/reality) and you see the contrast of civility and innocence (something that can only really exist in civilization.) and you put her in the complete just position (reality/nature.) and you have a rabbit in a fox hole. A girl not cut long for this world... but wonderland isn’t exclusive to Alice but to everyone,
