Back at it again with another metal version of Beethoven!
Spent way too much time on this one, but it's cool because I like to believe I am the first in the world to play this. And if I have done my research well, I actually am, so I got that going for me which is nice.
Anyways, I hope you like it, and I will definitely be on the look-out for more stuff to make.
Enjoy!
And there it is, after 5 years, 100.000 views!
Thank you so much to everyone that has watched and left so incredibly inspiring comments!
I am so sorry to disappoint you all with not uploading. There are a ton of real-life stuff going on, and covid and all, I just havent gotten around to do videos. But I practice every day (especially right hand technique!!) And I hope to be able to show you very soon.
Take care and shred on 🤙🤙
PS: Post some replies to this comment if you want me to upload the backing track for you to play along to. I still have it!
You're amazing! Thanks for all your inspiring work!
If you can, please do upload the backing track. Thank you!
awesome, just try to play it on piano, but it is so hard haha, anyway as a guitar player I can aswell imagine how hard it is to play this on guitar, since this was not meant to be played on a guitar, but you just did justice! btw. Backingtrack would be awesome and maybe tabs? or how did you learn this?
This is amazing, you will explode if you continue. Beethoven was writing metal :D
PLEASE I WILL BUY TABS
Classical pianist for 40 years here, piece has been in my repertoire for a long time. What you've done there is pure art and mastery - and a confirmation of what I used to tell my students (wish your video was available back then) that metal, just like jazz and rock, is a state of mind which you can find in different styles and cultures around the world. Bravo, Sir!
I wonder what other musical states of mind could be translated into different sounds
Can you expand on that?
Err....What...😳
No one asked for your opinion. Also if you’re a classical pianist and you can bear this, you should maybe consider other career options, although it’s a bit late now.
@@petrostroupakis2694 Nobody asked for yours either, πατριώτη! ;-)
Beethoven is pure metal
if bethoven is pure metal js bach is death metal !!
@@alaincharles8263 metal destroys music, metal destroys music, this is not music but its inept substitute
@@pawelm1991 boy you're ignorant... dare I say inept. Lol
@@pawelm1991 They said the same about Eric Satie and about the blues... Just listen to the music, man...
@@pawelm1991 Playing this piece on a different instrument with an accompaniment typical of different genre does not automatically invalidate the prowess of either the composer or the player; to suggest otherwise betrays YOUR ineptitude and sad attempt at appearing to be an intellectual. Those who actually know anything about music would not be so defensively puritanical about about an arbitrary shift in tone/style. Do you lose your shit because music is transposed into a different key and suddenly becomes trash in your eyes, as well?
beethoven was a true rockstar
Drago Rado yes he was a rockstar
Frédéric Chopin satanic hardcore
Frédéric Chopin 666
He was the original rock star!
The master of Beethoven was Bach the first ever Heavy Metal Master
Only now discovered this in 2023, I’m a classical organist and pianist for 30+ years - that was incredibly well done mate 👍🏻🍻👏🏻👏🏻🏴🇬🇧🥃
Great transcription, possibly the best metal rendition of a classical composition i've ever heard.
I agree that this one is very well made. This is exceptional
My thoughts exactly! Without sounding too ...blasphemous, I' d dare say that it sounds as if Beethoven had originally composed this as a duet for piano and e-guitar, it's THAT good and fitting!
I agree👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
As soon as you hear the original piece you just know its metal.
From the first moment I heard this sonata, 30 years ago...I thought..."metal" And finally...here it is. Thank you
SHEESH, I DIDNT EXPECT ITTO SOUND THIS GOOD
As a classical pianist, I can say that I love this, massively.
Great skill on the guitar and it's clear that you really GET what
Beethoven was doing. Congrats.
there are two geniuses in the room. Chaplin and this man.
Wow! Solomon and Richter are the pianists I think of who are blisteringly good at this awesome sonata. No! You didn't spent too much time Mats! This is Beethoven. This is addictive. This is compelling. You're a cool wizard with smoking hands and a great brain!
That break at 7:17 absoluty sick
Oh guy, I've search for this for so long, respect from a classic pianist 😉
You're not a true classical pianist if you don't have a deep burning resentment towards guitarists
@@orewachinchindaisukinandayo i am a guitarist and a pianist😉
thanks for all the nice comments!
Mats Kleppe 666 Beethoven
you did this very well...currently learning the piano version and it's extremely fast at the end
I am your fun! Good luck! I like classical music.
You make me cry
Dude, you should have more views. Was great! 👏
Now that is something one would probably hear once in a lifetime.
The truth is that Beethoven's Appassionata sonata is the most metal song (in spirit) that has ever been written. It represented a total breakdown of musical form from the classical era into romanticism, a Godless art form in both music and painting. It was music that foretold the existentialism of Nietzsche and was the beginning of the death of God in the intelligentsia. Metallica, Motley Crue, Black Sabbath... They got nothing on Ludwig Van.
In essence, this song represented his anthropocentric perpective.
Dude....you honestly just win in life. You've got yourself a new supporter \m/
This is GOAT! Its like listening to two of my favourite conposers (Children of Bodom and Beethoven) at the same time!
Holy shit, this is one of the best classical metal arrangements I've seen in my life.
And I'm a big neoclassical metal fan, and I've searched the hell out of UA-cam for classical music metal rearrangements.
Wow, that was absolutely amazing.
Thank you for this!
I’m a lover of classical music and a guitar player myself, thank you for encouraging me to get better and better everyday.
Rock on, brother! \m/
A lot of metal covers of classical music sound awkward but this is absolutely an exception
Just listening to this on piano and thought "...I can't be the only one who thinks this would be awesome as a metal song." Sure enough. Thanks, great job!
Classical and metalhead here. This cover is just perfect, you nailed it brilliantly, kudos!
You deserve more subscribers brother!!.. Keep going!!
how beautiful is this music...
It is said that Beethoven anticipated everything, so including metal I see hahaha... Beethoven is my all time favorite composer and I really like this version!!! The Presto at 7:17 is very very good! Bravo!
This is so funtastic! Ludwig would have loved it. He was the rock star of his time.
Brilliant!
I expected to be bad but this is actually impressive af and cool
dude , you made my day. i cant even think that was something possible to play on such an instrument. people who disliked this video need to see a doctor seriously.
keep going man, god bless you
So happy to see that it is not only classical music lovers who can appreciate Beethoven's greatness! This is great! A feat! "Ouf..." at the end, is right!!
Fantastic, I want you to do Waldstein mvt.1 next.
Completely overlooked your verification status. Thank you very much!!

good gift for new wear! thahks, dear Matte!
this deserves wayyy more attention
Shows you that Beethoven rocked!!! And still does... Bravo
Only 114k views? Not enough appreciation for the classical era I guess. Should have 7 billion views. But seeing the current state of music, I'm not surprised. This was awesome.
This is an amazing rendition, with so much gusto! Not just the lead... the arrangement is also not just there for the hell of it but is really tasteful. NICE!!
I find myself drawn again and again to this amazing rendition every once and a while for my 'metallized' Beethoven fix and kick! Once again, congratulations!
Masterfully transcribed, interpreted and performed. Absolutely world class. Congrats.
Beautiful, excellence, this is a masterclass in melody + tech death in and of itself.
What I've always wanted to hear in metal form is the first movement to the Pathetique sonata. Even the quiet, major parts are harmonically complex, which is what I associate with metal.
Transsiberian Orchestra did parts of it in their Beethoven album
Great work, I can't stop revisiting this cover every now and then
Master! Amazing transcription
Didn't think this amazing music would be possible on a guitar. Fantastic. You are a genius. It also shows how extraordinary Beethoven was compared to so many of todays's musicians.
This works so incredibly well - masterfully done
That's so fucking awesome. I am playing the piano piece at the moment, and it is so nice to hear all this power and energy which I feel while playing transported through the eguitar. This interpretation ist sooo nice, thanks for sharing your time and awesome skills!!! :)
I have listened to this at least 500 times.
This deserves a LOT more views and you deserve a LOT more subs. Your playing is absolutely faultless and you really capture the vibe of the original piece while at the same time making heavy metal \m/
Well said! It's a really mindblowing rendition!
Excellent arrangement of a timeless masterpiece...perfectly executed!!! So now, the last movements of the Pathetique and Moonlight Sonatas please!!! But seriously, I'm SO impressed...and as for Beethoven, he was all that ever was, is and will be...period
Beethoven rules music! No one is more mighty than him.
Holy hell that's hot very well done, huge respect to you!
Very Nice! Appassionata and Beethoven are the best🎸🎹🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊!
what an insane interpretation. I love this Beethoven piece on piano, you take it to another level!!!
I played this Sonata at Piano when I was a teenager, I want to thank you for this arrangement. Congrats!
as someone who plays this on piano i think you nailed it
Beethoven would have been proud by your impeccable rendition, delivered with precision, might, and passion: a true "apassionata"! Congratulations for one of the best covers of classical music on YT! \m/
He probably wouldn’t be able to hear it though
Pianist here who plays this...Nice job Bro! Nailed it.
You are frickin talented and hot as already someone said. This is incredible
That was astonishing! Bravo!
Awesome, increíble work my friend.
Beethoven would have been proud of your performance.
You have won a new subscriber.

This is my favorite piece and I'm struck by your talent. Absolutely phenomenal work, friend. I'll have to slow this down to study where you're playing. Wonderful performance!!!
Awesome you video man!!!! and the song of course!!
That was fire. I'm speechless. Thank you for this.
Wow, you should be famous! great technique and talent! Damn !
Holy smokes!!!! That was freaking AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
But can he play smoke on the water...... Without getting dragged out of the shop?
I'm so glad I'm not Brian May 👍🎶🤣🤣🤣
OMG,Love Beethovens Appassionata and definitely love it in this arrangemment!!!!Fantastic!!!
awsome. truly rock, truly metal, truly classical.
PUT IT ON SPOTFY PLEASE! I HEAR THIS A LOT
I really don't understand why 7 people have disliked this video, where did they get that balls from. Awesome video dude!
I`m crying... It`s so beautiful.
Bravo!!!!
Absolutely stellar my friend!
I would travel anywhere in the world to hear this performed live!
It looks like that Beethoven had adjusted this piece from guitar to piano :) Really liked it congrats!!!
Great job man, this is my favorite Beethoven Sonata and you did a fantastic job!!
Holy shit this slaps!!! That's some incredible playing the whole way through. Thanks man!
this is so deeply perfect, you are a wonderful human!
man this is so good.. the interpretation makes it seem like the original composition was intended to be played on electric guitar
thank you very much! Yes, I agree. I'm pretty sure Beethoven was a real metal head
You have a whole lot more going for you than simply being the first. BRAVO!!
I typically don't enjoy metal covers of nonmetal songs but dude you are the shit! and this is coming from a fellow guitarist
i always thinking that this piece would be a sounding good on electric guitar, im not wrong, its great!
Great job !!! you convert a classical masterpiece to another rock masterpiece....
Bravissimoo !!! That's impressive and it's not just Beethoven's merit !! Love it
Well that was hot! That was beautiful! Going to watch more!
That’s so much effort, respect dude !
Incredible performance! Excellent
Beautiful! Thank you!
this guy is crazy.. I love it
Recently heard this piece and got absolutely in love with. You've truly done it justice! Amazing interpretation
You deserve much more subs
One of those song's that are goals.... respect
That was pretty intense! very awesome!
Stunning. Outstanding. Bravo.
Man, that's awesome. Congratulations, great sound!
This is amazing
I have dreamed of this very thing for years and years!! I never thought it would come true... then I find your video. You have pumped new meaning in my life with your amazing talent and creativity!! LVB FOREVER!!🤘
This is great. I play this on piano and often imagine it being played like this. You capture the wild spirit of Beethoven...roll over!! Fantastic :)
Incredible! What an amazing arrangement!! Congratulations!!
To be honest I was skeptical at first sight. But I changed my mind almost immediately. Good understanding both with the sonata and Beethoven himself. Great transciription and performance! The differences you've made (because it's a guitar after all) fit perfectly in the existing piano music which we hear at the backround. Congratz from a classical pianist! Bravo 👏👏👏
На одном дыхании от начала до конца. Молодец!
Very cool! Appreciate the dedication to your craft.
