Got your point, @hmhm856! It might not feel like an All-Time Titan, but this label is purely about the money-and What Women Want smashed it, ranking among the top 50 highest grossing films of the decade.
Hollywood should be ashamed by how they have treated Mel Gibson over the years….. one of the best actors of all time in my opinion….. Come back home to Australia Mel, and live the rest of your life in peace Mate
@@darthscipio5289 No, if he's anything, he's Irish. He however lived i Australia from he was twelve and apparently still has a farm there. And why do you think the criticism was of his own making? It wasn't the Hollywood swamp that, for whatever reason, decided to austricize him? And why do you shout?
Yeah they made him over 800 million dollars for mediocre Acting that most would consider over-acting. It takes higher skill levels to be subtle when it’s appropriate. Mel could never do subtlety. Yes they’ve treated him terribly giving him all that money for his lavish lifestyle. With all the people out there that have legitimate grievances, you pick Gibson to support. He should actually be very thankful to Hollywood. I’m no fan of Hollywood here. I think they’re a bunch of amoral thieves quite frankly. Which is why Mel was such a great fit in Hollywood for so long. No one ever put a gun to his head and sent him there.
That's a great idea, and I’m actually planning to do that later. I just want to fine-tune the format a bit more-I’m not fully satisfied with the labeling, for example. But bear with me; I’m constantly striving to improve.
Pretty amazing pay check for The passion of the Christ, but given Mel financed the film himself (as studios would not back him) he deserves the reward for the risk he took on it. A 70% cut of the box office!!!
@@Orlando_SteveWho controls Hollywood? The media. The US government and pretty much everything else outside of it. They who shall not be named is who.
He has a brilliant mind and the paycheck that he received for passion of the Christ, and putting up his own money he attained a huge financial success. Hopefully his earnings will bring him some peace!
It's always startling to discover that you haven't seen so much as half the films of a movie star you thought you knew. Of course it's most of the flops that I'm unfamiliar with. I think Gibson should stick to directing. He has 3 films in the works at the moment actually. Although 2 of them are sequels to The Passion of the Christ, which is a stupider idea than Gladiator 2 or Joker 2 in my opinion.
Mel is a great actor.. And he's down to earth.. Hollywood doesn't like him because he didn't support biden and harris🤮 and voted for Trump..😁 To me that shows he's a good guy,👍that loves this Country..😁 👍
Look at the money he made from Hollywood, and you say he didn't have it easy? It's his choice of films that flop is his fault. Most of his later films are the same.
Passion of the christ amount doesn't add up. To get 430 out of 622 gross? After location expenses, paychecks, investors, advertising, permits, general expenses, travel expenses etc etc etc he came out with alot but highly doubt that much
Mel is one of my favorite actor ❤
Unreal, I was just watching What a Girl Wants. I really enjoyed it, but I never would have imagined it to be an All Time Titan

LOL; HE WAS BORN IN NEW YORK; HE'S NOT AUSTRALIAN; MOST OF THE THINGS HE WAS CRITICIZED FOR WAS ALL OF OWN MAKING

I wonder why Hollywood wouldn't back a pro-Jesus Christ movie? It's a Scooby Doo Mystery!

A lot of flops after ummm. Uh hum.....you know what
'What Women Want' had lousy directing.
How predictable. So who doesn't control Hollywood?
Jeez ya make a few off color comments and you go from box office behemoth to perpetual indy flopmaster.
Really, who cares what this two bit actor makes.
