Do we need to continusly hold the red toggle button to start the suction ?
No, you don't need to hold the button all the time. You just need to press the button on the inside of the handle to power on the vacuum, while the button on screen is used to switch the suction power.

My wife has a pretty bad case of long hair shedding rate. She has lots of hair.
Which one would be better, the jr700 or the bp10?
Unfortunately, we didn't collect hair with these vacuum cleaners.
If you’re still in the market do not get this model if you have carpet. It is awful in picking stuff up on carpet
Suction power doesn’t change when I toggle through the 3 speeds.

I used on the low suction mode while cleaning.

We don't have the JR600 anymore, so there will be no side-by-side comparison. However, you can watch the videos and compare them yourself.

I haven't tested the Dyson, so I can't tell you.
Not better than the Dyson but for a $600 price difference it's not far off
It's rather noisy, isn't it?
It is about the same as other corldess vacuum cleaners.
