Just did mine on a 2013 Ford Edge. Another way to clear the codes once the new part is in and functioning properly on Ford vehicles is to disconnect the negative battery cable for 1 minute… for those of you who don’t have access to that computer. You will have to reset your clock and radio presets.
I have 09 Adrenalin getting p2196 but I have changed all the o2 sensors, mass flow sensor..ect sensor . Replaced plugs...boots...injectors as well. New exhaust manifolds as well as catalytic converter.. ...I'm losing my mind with this. And seems like losing the battle .... My purge valve obviously doesn't look like this one but it's close. I cannot find the one that's on my truck anywhere
Why replace all that parts? When its a small issue. For your model the purge valve look a little different, located next to the oil dipstick under the brake master cylinder. The valve has 2 hoses connected to it.
P2195 is heated oxygen sensor stuck lean - bank 1 sensor 1. This code check the fuse #42 first before replacing the oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1. Code P2196, if the car running rich, replace either the mass air flow sensor or fuel rail pressure sensor.
Thank you so much for this video. I got the same p2196 trouble code on my 2018 Ford Fusion with a 2 L motor. Is it a do-it-yourself fix or should I take it to a mechanic? In your opinion thank you
I’m getting these codes on a 2013 Lincoln mkx. It’s very sporadic though. Only happens once every two weeks and runs rough during the time. You think purge valve?
I recommend replacing the purge valve with oem part. If you have replace it already, and the codes still on. Check for power and ground at the purge valve connector. If you know how to check it. If its good. Possible causes 1 check mass air flow sensor and air filter (dirty or bad sensor) 2 bad O2 sensors - check wire harness (open/short in circuit or loose/burnt connectors) 3 fuel pressure system too high or leaking injectors 4 exhaust leak

DIY if you can. If you take it to the shop it would cost around $200.

The purge valve is going bad soon, yes it could make your care runs a lil rough. Just replace it, easy cheap fix.

If you have replaced it already and you don't have a scanner to clear it. Go to oreilys or autozone stores, ask them, they will clear it for you free.
