Yep, luke jiat kinda hard or have some time lag to connect his arts to another arts for combo. And that little annoying. While Guy is smoth connecting his art to make combo. The forgiving part maybe on 2nd play through lost fon dive dmg is crazy strong.
That's the first time I've ever seen Lost Fon Drive. I have one of the initial printings of the game, so it forgets I have clear data before I can aquire it. (All the bonuses -- save for grade shop purchases -- disappear within the first few hours of the game after saving a fresh clear data. I got to use Indignation with Jade at one point until it forgot...) I have the 3DS version now though, so hopefully I'll get to use these bonuses I ought to have had years ago. xD Thanks for the video
love lukes left handed but his right hand is still used in combat also everyone hates his dialogue but diction is critical; lukes accent is hard to pinpoint

have you gone past Akzeriuth? If not, then you should :) or finish the game, at least. Luke was deliberately made to be the worst in the beginning, but he eventually becomes one of the most well-developed characters in jRPGs...
His character development is pretty bad. He's a major douchebag, doesn't change one bit, and after guilt gets to him he's suddenly Mister Goody-two-shoes? And then he remains that way until the end of the game. He's such an unnuanced character.

After losing everything--his friends, even his identity as Luke fon Fabre--his pride had been stripped away and his inner kindness began to show. But even with this, I would argue that the most important character development for Luke is not really the arrogant to selfless change, but the one after it: from the post-akzeriuth guy who absolutely had no sense of self-worth (which, as shown multiple times in the game, drove him to suicidal tendencies), to the post-tower of rem character who has found self-worth in being alive. Dismissing his character development to only the first one is doing a disservice to his character.

To my understanding, majinken is used for both demon fang and demon fist in Japan, and both artes are typically functionally identical -- the main difference is that one uses a sword, the other is done with a fist. Demon Fang is also far and away more commonly seen than demon fist is by comparison, with Luke being the first demon fist user that fights with a sword, probably because Guy already gets demon fang. Either way, both are still majinken if you want to be technical about it
with guy and luke's altered artes, shouldnt it be guardian glacier for guardian field, and final frost for um... final cross was it? i forget the name of guy's attack.
After you beat the game once an get the Key of Lorelei, you can use Lost Fon drive by pressing the attack button and the arte button at the same time when you have less than 25% max HP. Confusing, right?

@snowmandashdash Luke is arguably the best character across all JRPG's because of his personal growth. As a true character, he outclasses Lloyd, Yuri, Stahn, Emil, etc. by miles. If you were referring to playstyle, then you should probably specify.

Ion can only appear for the Radiant Howl extension on your second playthrough or later; you just keep the attack button held down. The other one is the same deal, only after your first playthrough can it be activated. You need your health in the red and hold down guard+attack+arte buttons (similar to Lloyd's).
Oh, I forgot to mention you need the Key of Lorelei weapon to do Lost Fon Drive. So you have a relatively small window to do it since you don't get to keep that weapon for very long.
You have to be playing on your second play through or later. Hold the attack button the entire time Radiant Howl is being used. And don't worry, I didn't know about this until I found it by accident. :P
Here's all the requirements you need in order to get Ion to appear during radiant howl. 1. You need to beat the game at least once and then save that game file after the credit roll. 2. You need to hold the X button once radiant howl activates from start to finish (or start holding X down once you see Luke's face flash across the screen, I'm not sure which one exactly but its one of the two). 3. Apparently, you also need to be at a point in the game where ion is traveling with your group, otherwise, his extension to radiant howl won't activate.
Chris Harbauer abyss has this thing where elemental magic will create circles on the field the circle will be the same element as the spell that was cast. Then you use the right arte in the right elemental circle to perform the fof arte
I could not get into this game mainly because of how much of an unlikable dick Luke was... The rest of the cast seemed pretty meh from what I played as well. Apparently it's an awesome jrpg that I'm just not seeing. =[

Kyuubi424 I always thought that it was because people tend to prefer faster characters
