I enjoyed how the game used the Fonic Hymn in her incantations. I always thought the Hymn was a nice song. Tales of the Abyss is definitely has the best soundtrack in the series (next to Legendia). But that isn't just a bone I throw it. I am thoroughly unimpressed with Sakuraba in general but I think he did great work with the Abyss soundtrack. Not every song is a winner. But taken as a whole I think it's something pretty special. I think Bandai-Namco work him way too hard. He should not be composing for over 40 projects over the span of 5-10 years. That's insane. It's no wonder his work sounds derivative and lacking in personality. It all sounds too similar. You have to phone it in. You have to. You can't put your best or your heart into so many projects. Have him just compose for Tales, Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean.
Great work! I have always loved seeing Tear's fonic artes, especially Meditation and Fairy Circle.
