  • The Pulsar 23 is a semi modular techno beast - but it can also create warm funky basses with just a little bit of patching!
In this video we will create a bass patch and see how we can use the envelope of another channel to modulate the bass filter.
You can listen to the full song that is played at the end of the video here: • #Jamuary2022 Day 30 //...

Thanks a lot man :-) The Deluge plays the drums, the pads are done by Novation Peak.

The bass channel of the pulsar-23 is my favourite ever monosynth for bass. It's so creamy. Crazy to think it's digital.

Yeah that really is crazy! I guess so many other parts are analog (filter, overdrive, ...) that you can't tell the difference...

Posts and alligator clips, instead of plugs and sockets?

Yes exactly, I think the creators once said they can fit more connection points onto the unit this way. It has its up- and downsides I guess. Feels less sturdy and "controlled" than audio jacks, but you don't need any multipliers since you can just put multiple cables on the same pin.

also , there are 6 CV mini jacks that you can use to connect external CV. I have a Dave Smith Pro 2 that I send LFO's out of into the Pulsar 23, and it works amazing. opens the machine up even more.
