Really glad Angela Rayner made these points. I'm an NHS paramedic who was striking in the first strike in December. Prior to the strikes GMB and my ambulance trust agreed on a derogation to ensure care could be provided, but all of us who were on the picket line had access to 999 calls coming in the area where I work, all of us had vehicles and were capable of attending patients who we were clinically concerned about such as; cardiac arrests, entrapment RTC's, long lies amongst many others.
NONE of us who were on the picket line fully withdrew our care despite having the right to, and the vast majority of us ended up going out to see a patient because that's what we signed up to do.
To hear these sleazy, slimy, erroneous turds suggest that we don't care about our patients is incredibly insulting.

What can I say. You have said it all. I can only add that one of the reasons the labour members voted for Keir Starmer as leader instead of Angela was because he had Sir in front of his name. I do not think this country is quiet ready for our Angela but by making her deputy she can still outshine the lot of them and it does show . As much as I believe all politicians sing from the same hymn sheet (opportunists), and are all liars, something about Angela tells me she is a bit different to the others. She comes from a working class background and has worked her way up to her position from a basic paid care job to a politician, so in that respect, I admire her, and think she is genuine.

The way the current system works, with how opportunities for progression are seizable, in order to make one's way up the ranks and be successful in politics, one needs to be an opportunist to a minimum degree. But from that entry level of opportunitism, there's still a big range in the extent of it, and how many principles individual politicians still keep. I do believe Angela Rayner is one of the more/most principled politicians in Westminster, and I would welcome her premiership

The idea that a government that has deliberately eviscerated public services over the last 12 years, directly affecting service users as well as workers, has the nerve to attack strikers on the basis that it negatively affects service levels is, quite simply, disgusting. What outcomes do you judge it by? How will the standards measure up against the shite services the public already receives? And, once again, what mandate do they have for their neoliberal beliefs?

Will Shapps be held to account if the minimum staff safety levels fall below his standard level on non strike days for nurses in the NHS, there are 140,000 nurse vacancies available in the NHS these safety levels cannot be achieved with that amount of staff shortages , Shapps doesn't care about patient safety all he's concerned about is taking away the power of the unions

The Conservatives have been in power of nearly 13 years. They have siphoned nearly £100B of tax payers money through their private companies and they have passed SO many laws that affect workers rights that any government following them has to make a choice between fixing those rights OR fixing the rest of the country. Either way, the Tories will engineer a position whereby they can argue the lack of efficacy of any government that follows them and stupid voters will buy it. On the side of good, Keir Starmer's approach is a longer game and he is playing it very well and his team are fantastic!

Except when women were given the vote, workers were given the right to strike, child labour was abolished, slave labour was abolished, the education bill was passed, the NHS was formed, I could go on and on but my thumb's tiring.

Another excellent performance by AR. Should this bill pass it will probably be too late to effect the current unrest. So the impact will be for future strikes by who knows what set of workers. One thing we can be sure of is that the government will not be short of trade unionists willing to be charged under this bill, it may however be short of employers willing to engage in court cases and also ministers willing to support it so close to a General Election.

Angela Rayner has got to be the best deputy leader that Labour has ever had. She hits the nail on the head every time she takes on the tories. This bill is another one in a long line bills presented by the tories that reduce working peoples rights. Tories should be ashamed.
