Phoenix Smart is absolutely insane, he's basically if Detective Conan spoke his mind throughout the entire episode, catching the criminal in like... a fourth of the episode.

This is how I thought Phoenix Wright actually behave before I actually played any of the AA games (not that I'm disappointed he actually turned to be the lovable smart bluffball we all know and love)

To be fair, Matt Engarde deserved that and more. Drove people to suicide and got real petty all just to further his career. Even attempted to blackmail his hitman of all things.
Honestly death is too good for him. He should've been taken to Shelly's house and drip fed orange juice in a sensory deprivation chamber, drive him insane with how little he gets to sustain himself and how little his senses are stimulated.
I feel like this is Phoenix Wright when you don't actually play as him and by that I mean...just check how he already knows shit in AA4 and AA5 or AA6 when you don't play as him lmao

The fact that Phoenix didn't think to do this OR mention the fact that he wasn't even on this case long enough to forge evidence? It's on-record that Phoenix's appointment as Zak's lawyer was last-minute, he couldn't and didn't know about the diary. If they had just called Trucy to the stand and asked her "hey who gave you this page" this problem could have been solved

A good example of something that could have cleared things up much more quickly was in turnabout samurai, when cody was on the stand and he was evasive about what the "bad guy" that the steel samurai fought looked like. Cody as a fan of the steel samurai show would have unquestionably recognized the evil magistrate if they were combative, and would have mentioned that. But cody didn't say it was, and if asked he would say "no, it definitely wasn't him" and it would have promptly blown apart the initial hypothesis of jack being in the evil magistrate costume and being the victim of the steel samurai, instead of bithering about with the whole "the steel samurai lost" bit.
I forgot how much of a banger the Ace Attorney 1 music was.

Sometimes, things can't end well for Matt Engarde fans I'm afraid.
Mr. De Killer is VERY good at his job, he injured three police officers trying to get a tape, he's never been caught, he's never had anyone remember his face despite the obvious suspicious stitches down the middle of his face, it took the worst case he's ever had to get him to be hasty enough to leave ANY unintentional evidence, and it was barely any with only 4 pieces.
What I'm getting at is, he'd be able to get to and kill mr. Engarde without being seen

It takes in JFA. Franziska was shot in the shoulder before she could make it to court, so Edgeworth replaced her.
