I have the full size rail and love it, I hope you can make a V2 version with larger charging handle channel to accommodate aftermarket extended charging handles.
We’ve actually been making running adjustments to the charging handle cutout since we’ve found that both the original and the clones have pretty wide tolerances on their charging handles. Same on the shortened K model version! As for aftermarket extensions, feel free to send us pics of your rail on IG, if you had to make any modifications, so we can check out which MP5/setup you’ve got going on!! Always valuable to gather. More fun stuff for this platform to come.
0:35 I hear you. Old school Leapers UTG bidirectional picatinny rail mount owner here. While it's an affordable low profile mount (doesn't block your ironsights) and, once installed properly, it's very solid and won't loosen up with use as it was also meant for G3 rifles, albeit it's does block the serial number and it has a lot of sharp corners. On a G3 or clone, it's not much of a problem due to its longer receiver (you ain't gonna cut your hand when slapping the charging handle), but on MP5, those sharp corners are rather dangerously close to the charging handle slot. This monolithic handguard, on the other hand, it's a more modern and better solution than fiddling with some wobbly claws that make the rail hard to align. It also makes the MP5 look more futuristic. It's a testament of how well designed, modular (thus future proof) these family of roller delayed firearms are. It could be cool to see this monolithic rail handguard upscaled for 7.62 and 5.56 rifles, as long as the locking lugs are strong enough to withstand rifle caliber recoil.
The UTG Pro line is built here in the USA. I have used several of their products including this MP5 Handguard and the engineering and manufacturing is spot on!
Most red dots will not co-witness as they will not sit low enough on the rail. You would likely want to go with a low mount that is optic footprint specific in order to sit low enough for co-witness. The other route would be to get a mount/riser that you can see through and still access your irons, while your dot sight sits above and high enough to clear the front sight hood. Hope that helps!
Yeeeah if it was only that easy, I rode the struggle bus for 2 hours and ended up having to modify the the insert lugs and finally was able to get the back 2 to grip and install but in that process stripped / cross threaded all but two screws so can’t install the front two unless I can get customer service to send me new hardware. Even trying to insert the screws into the lugs outside the gun they didn’t want to thread in and the screws began to sheer threads immediately when any kind of pressure was applied.
Happy to help you look into this. Can certainly send new hardware, but want to make sure we troubleshoot and understand what is happening for your install. Feel free to send us a note at marketing@leapers.com and we will get you taken care of.
The MP5 line is over 60 years old yet I can't believe something like this didn't already exist. Elegant and simple.
Just came across this! Excellent idea!!!!! Great job!!
Hope you get to experience it in person!

Glad you enjoy it, have fun sending rounds through it!

@@Leapers_Incany chance you guys will make a longer versions for the k models that can accommodate suppressors so the suppressor sits inside the rail?
@@honkhonk1555 That's something we can look into!

Thank you so much!
great seeing UTG get more recognition
Thank you!
I think I'm going to need a pair of these for my next guide/review video.
Any plans for other colors/finishes?
We just made the switch over to anodized from Cerakote. We have no current plans for other colors yet!
Its beautiful
Will this fit my HK 51 8.5" barrel? Will you guys make one for the HK51 and PTR PDW owners?
I bought one and I really wish the bottom handguard m lok slot were longer, a3 grip doesn’t fit flush, like the sp5 version.

Got these for my MAC5 and MAC5k. Does anyone know which Holosun red dot will best co-witness the iron sights on the UTG PRO?

Will installing this mess up the finish on my sp5k?
Mounting this will replace your current handguard but mounting other accessories on the rail by design could scratch the rail normal usage.
Will this fit the Mac-5?
It does! We have tested it ourselves.
Does it fit the new military arms corp mac 5? Its a full size mp5 clone.
Yes it does!
@@Leapers_Inc thank yall!

Have fun!
Will this fit the 22lr with the fake suppressor?? Seems like it might
Unfortunately no since the ejection port is in a different spot. I’ll pass it on to our guys who manage the roadmap!
Uhhh, how do I get this? Your website isn’t letting me purchase
