For your point about crustaceans, as a biologist I should point out that insects are crustaceans. So don’t focus too much on cremlings being crustaceans and therefore they must be aquatic, insects are terrestrial crustaceans and are one of the most diverse and prolific groups of animals on Earth.
Something to keep in mind when you're reading about Shards is you see different names - there's the name of the Vessel, like Leras, Ati, Aona, Skai, Rayse, Bavadin, etc, or the name of the Shard itself, the concept or ideal it represents, like Preservation, Ruin, etc. I don't recall which shards have been named at this point besides the Mistborn ones so I'll hold back, but essentially the Vessel is the name of the person who holds the power of the Shard. More likely than not, over time they associate themselves more with the name of the Shard itself than any previous name they've known themselves by.

I’d like to, but I think realistically it won’t happen for a few reasons. 1) I don’t want to read on a timer 2) I read pretty slowly due to trying not to miss any extra info, it’s a wholly different than just reading for fun. 3) I like to read something different between the books of series so that I get some variety and can enjoy the series more that way. But I’ve never read a book at the same time as those on my channel (when it comes out) so it’s a shame, maybe the 6th?!

Are there other behaviours/mechanisms (than shells/carapace) on this planet that fulfil the same purpose? 🤔 It's also so often that I almost feel like writing some of your predictions down so I can remind you when we do get to that point, because some are really insane (both in a good and bad way lol)
As you read the other books you'll find quite a number of replies from Hoids correspondents. Hoid's initial letter seems to talk about some names in the past tense. Obviously you've already made the connection with Ati and Atium from Mistborn, but what about Aona and Skai? 🤔 Hoid references them in connection with Sel, so maybe if we know what story takes place on Sel we can find out more about Aona and Skai? Rayse is definitely a name to pay attention to
Additionally, the fact that Hoid never refers to these people by their Shards and ALWAYS by their actual names should give a bit of indication of who or what Hoid might be
man some of the comments on these cosmere videos really need to stop telling you things and let you figure it out on your own. I get that they mean well, but it takes away from the experience when people are constantly "subtly" hinting at things that you're going to learn soon anyways

You're right about the crustaceans! The entire continent of Roshar was raised from the seabed, which is why all of the flora and fauna is oceanic.
