10 Ways to Look Taller and Slimmer (Works for Anyone)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 січ 2021
- While your clothes can’t actually make you go from 5’6” to 6’2”, they can definitely make you look slightly taller and leaner than you really are. On the flip side, the wrong clothes will make anyone look shorter and even fatter than they really are.
In this video, I’m going to run through 10 extremely simple tips you can use to make sure your clothes are working for you, and not against you. When you start to combine 2 or 3 or 4 of these tips, you realize that it’s very easy to put together an outfit that makes you look as tall and lean as possible. Even just using one of these tips will help you avoid looking shorter.
I want to remind you that there is NOTHING wrong with being short, and anyone who says there is is obviously very immature and insecure about their own self-worth.
Try to be comfortable in your body. And if you're a younger man, don't worry about your height. Worrying is just a waste of time and energy. So focus instead on what you can control, like how you dress, how you spend your time, and how you treat other people.

Where’s my fellow guys under 5’7” at?
🙋🏻♂️
They’re with Frodo tryna get rid of that damn ring!
🙏🏼here I'm 5/4
im 5'7 in timbs. does that count
LowieCantGreen how many inches you getting off the timbs? I usually wear Jordan 1’s but I might cop some timbs or other boots to get some extra inches
I confirm that it works, I actually used to think that you were *Very* tall when I started watching your videos
It's his hairstyle and face Which is slim that makes him look taller and his shoulders
He looks at least 5'8. Has a Tom Holland build but is better dressed.
I'm 5'0" adult male (35yo!). It's rough down here!
These are great tips to dressing to your size for sure!
Im a 4'11, 18 year old female. Its tough everyone else is tall except for me.
I'm 5'0 17 year old female, it's tough being smaller than your younger sibling 😂
@Ôœgiłuß • 15 years ago thats your problem
i'm a male, i'm 16 ½ years old and i want to be 182cm(6ft) tall im 169(5'6),
I just want to grow 13 more cm taller goddamnit, why cant i grow taller!!! i'm a dwarf!
Because my city height is 182cm(6ft) (shanghai)
I'll do everithing To be as tall as my freind
I'm 5'3" and the tallest in my family of 7. It's sad.
1. Wear clothes that fit well
2. Wear dark, solid colors
3. Wear low contrast outfits - no clashing colors or shades
4. Wear small-scale patterns
5. Avoid low-rise pants
6. Tuck your shirt in
7. Wear no break pants (not bunching up at the ankles)
8. Wear accessories proportionate to your size/body type
9. Avoid bulky outerwear
10. Wear boots
Thanks for summing up..😌
Thanks man
tips 11 wear a hat ;)

I love how this starts out with accepting yourself
As short men, we can not grow taller, but changing the way we dress can improve our height.
As a 5’6” guy, your videos have helped me so much! I feel way more confident after finding properly fitting clothing because of your channel. Great video as always 👍
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Good on you for making videos!
@@liamjamesevans Thank you!
@@thestarvingstudentreviews622 idk looking at your pfp, you look like a solid 5 10
Hi am 5'6 too how old are you bro?
Some additional tips:
Fix your posture. This should go without saying yet most people have very poor standing and sitting posture. You will literally become taller and look much healthier/attractive. As shorter dudes, practicing proper posture is usually a lot easier for us. Stand/sit up straight, shoulders back, head level and on top of your spine. Do it for the rest of your life.
Try shirt stays. They keep your shirt tucked in and flat against your body. Combines extremely well with the next tip.
Give braces (suspenders) a go instead of belts with your dress clothes. Brock is absolutely right about the benefits of a higher rise but since we're dudes and have a very low waist to hip ratio, gravity simply doesn't allow us to keep our pants at such a height, even with side-tabs or a belt. Belts also cut you in half horizontally and visually lower your rise since they cover the top of your trousers. Suspenders do the opposite; In fact, they are visually lengthening due to their vertical lines. They keep the top of the pants at the slimmest point of the torso (navel) without cinching them, while making them drape a lot better and reducing pocket flare (especially if you have pleats). The result is a high rise that makes your hips and waist look at slim as possible. Braces are also much more comfortable and have the benefit of keeping your shirt pressed against you, especially at the back, which is slimming. I would recommend button braces on the inner waistband and ideally remove the belt loops.
Dress shirts (tall collars) or turtlenecks are great for being drawing the eye up and framing the face.
cheers
Excellent tips here.Thank you
Amen!. Stand up straight and put the shoulders back a little.
You are so right
More tips:
Buy shoe lifts.
Stick with tall hairstyles. A 5'8 guy with 2 inch fade is the same height as a 5'10 guy who has a bald head or buzzcut.
Damn the collar tip is not for me with a non existent neck😂
"When in doubt, go with your boots." - Words to live by
Thanks for the tips, Brock!
Growing up short can definitely become really stressful when you're comparing against everyone
It takes time to accept your body and work on what can be changed
Love the tips Brock! My favorite was explaining why dark colors are more flattering than light colors. All about eliminating shadows!
Still on my journey to dress smarter and more flattering for my small stature, your videos have definitely been a massive help. Thanks, Brock.
made me smile. loved how sincere yet light-hearted your delivery is. shows that you care about what you're talking about. subscribed!
I am 5'7" without shoes and this video was bliss. I started following Brock's idea of fit and dressing style and honestly, it helped me to get good compliments from my colleagues and friends. The best part of that video was related to contrast, as I was unaware of the fact that we should avoid contrast in dressing. Thanks for the point.
I am actually looking for you to make a video on colour selection for the dark & dusky skins. It would be really helpful for people from different skin tones to try out different colours apart from the basic colours.
Thanks again!
Thank you for this video! I have been personally loving oversized clothes but the point about wearing fitted clothes and wearing darker clothes really is so true and makes sense to look taller. It's all about altering the perceptions to make us appear as stream lined as possible :D
You are one of the only UA-camrs that I watched for fashion years ago as I am on the shorter side. You helped me a lot , I remember I learned to not wear contrasting colors, so I stuck to dark Black clothes in college. It worked out great , man.. time fliess... I am glad to see you are doing well my man
That's awesome, thanks for sticking around!
This was an extremely well produced and edited video, Brock! Great tips, fits, advice, and energy!
Thank you!
The last part of the video about being comfortable and confident with your height is so bang on point. I am 33 now, and i have'nt added an inch to 5'5" in the last 20 yrs. For most of my teenage and young life i was concerned about my height. Underconfident as well. But eventually as you grow you start accepting your height and your career achievements and growth as a person become lot more attractive portions of your personality. But one must keep making effort on body and grooming as it makes you feel a lot good about yourself. The self confidence follows. The tips in the video are so good and i will definitely work towards following them. Being lazy is not good. Work towards overall self grooming and everything else follows.
I'm 5'7" and my most recent girlfriend was 5'11". I'd always try to do things to appear just a bit taller- this video is actually super helpful in that! Thank you!
a question. how did she became your girlfriend?
@@wojakguru2006 Gotta be smoothe, man. Make yourself appear attractive without the height. For instance wear "cool " clothes, Style your hair, hit the gym, smell good, etc. Works all the time, bud! Earn confidence and than you'll have whoever you want!
great video!
Yes alpha
Papi Pap yup alpha always looking clean af. Mans gotta stop yelling tho haha
Thanks, Aaron!
Not surprised to see you here lol
hi alpha.
Only video that I found helpful about looking taller and stylish, and direct to the point. Thank you!
Bravo! You’re one of the few people who encourages mid to high rise pants and tucking in shirts to improve one’s height perception. As a 60 year old who is 60, I’ve done these two “tricks” for many years.
"As a 60 year old who is 60"? 😄 This phrase made me chuckle, immediately thought it was a teenager lying or an alien pretending to be human🤣
This video is not only telling how to dress up yourself for short men but this video is also motivating
Great work done @modestman ✌
It's very difficult to accept being short, if that's the way you feel. Counterintuitively, what works much better is to accept that you'll probably never accept being short. This is much easier and more effective than trying to force yourself to stop being insecure about something, and oddly enough it can actually make you feel more confident and at ease.
beautiful message at the end man. been watching you for years now, only you get better
I work in fashion and all tips are absolutely valid! proportions ... proportions... proportions... its everything!! I appreciate the kindness, honesty and level of consideration for others in your video!!! well done!!!
The last 3 minutes were the best. Lovely message!
All of these tips are great and helpful, but...
Can I point out that your voice is so nice and relaxing? I could listen to you speaking about clothes for hours
I have taken on board some of the previous tips you have offered on your other videos thanks for this glorified summary
I like the fact you offer a common sense approach to style leaving the final decision to the individual
Keep them coming
Great advice. I like the boot with the same color as your pant. Looks really put together.
No questions, i just want to say that i love what you do with this youtube channel!
very good video! I like how you encourage people to feel confident in their own bodies. Thanks for sharing your tips, and your story!
This is exactly what I wanted! Everything in depth with proper comparisons. I agree with most of the points and look forward to implementing them. Thank you for this!
Glad it was helpful!
Super useful video, Brock. Both from Fashion as well as enocouragement perspective. Thanks a lot for sharing this. :) Helped a lot
Great video Brock most of the tips were spot on👌🏻. I just love the transitions and the visuals🎭 that you added in your videos🎬. Keep up the good work. 😉
This video was everything, motivational speech at the end, best tips throughout
“How you dress, how you spend your time and how you treat people.” Those words are gold. I was struck by your kindness.
Enjoyed this- very practical and helpful advice that works for girls, too! And I have always found that height is not a prohibition to intelligence, wit, or empathy.
My favourite UA-cam channel..!
Great content man.
I found the dark coloured clothes and Chelsea boots the best tips ... Thanks man 👍
Wow! This channel is really a gold mine and I'm so happy i came upon this video. I'll probably binge watch all of the videos now😅
As always, you're the best. And you're more attractive than ever.
I really enjoyed watching this video, the presenter has a really nice way of explaining things and was very informative!
As always, thank you so much for your fashion ideas for not-so-tall guys like me. Stay healthy and safe. Cheers from Singapore.💐
Great job, thanks bud 😎
It took me a few decades, but I'm really owning my 5ft 6in now. Great work on the video.
Excellent video Brock! I love your channel and keep up the great work!
I lost a ton of weight last year working from home, and sort of had the ability to "cocoon" in my home and become a different person. Started the process of figuring out fashion at the start start of this year (better late than never) and I have to say these videos helped me a lot since I was finally able to buy nice fitting clothes instead of hiding fat with baggy clothes which was even worse being a short 5' 6" guy, had no fashion sense at all.
Rebuilt my entire wardrobe during the past 6 months or so and I just donated a ton of my old stuff away and tried my old clothes again for the last time and I'm so glad I got out of that style. I don't feel like people are laughing at me anymore when they look at me, I feel really confident. Thank you and many of the other male fashion channels
Great video Brock!! Like always!!
One of your best videos!!
Amazing video , very accurate tips
Thanks Brock. Great tips.
Great work bro....
Thank you so much for this video! Really very nice tips!
Thank you soo muchh🥰🥺🥺... I'm a short guy... Ur words made me little confident now 🙂🙂🥰
GREAT THUMBNAIL. Seriously dude, in terms of thumbnails it's one of the best. It worked on me lol.
Thanks, I hope UA-cam feels the same way 😅
Whoa you look great in the outfits!
Good job!! I am a petite woman (5 feet tall, 120 lbs) and my adult son is 5’4”, 120 lbs. Your tips will work for both of us. I am subscribing to your channel and look forward for more fashion tips designed for people short in stature.
Coulda swore you were closer to 5'7 miss Anderson 😅😋

yooo that transition from black shirt to white shirt is nice
thanks alot to your advice.. your a legit fashion guru
Man I hope I’m as trendy as you when I’m in my 40s too ! Good advice!!!!
Well thought out and executed video. Kudos
Great video, loved it!
I really like the examples shown. Another thing is posture that can help a person look more athletic and taller.
Your words at the end of the video are very profound, especially for us smaller guys 👍
Small ok
The wool coat ensemble was my favourite.
Great tips! Thanks brother
Great video! I might also add to wear turtlenecks (very popular right now) in proportion - shorter turtleneck or even chose a mock turtleneck if you are a bit on the shorter side.
thanks for the insight man!
Great message!
Thanks dude!!!! This video is really help me a lot
I’m slightly under 6’ but you’ve always got great content! This is my favorite men’s style channel.
Tell people want to look even taller
I'm just slightly below 6ft tall too....and notice that I'm generally the tallest guy in the room. Generally.
Still want to be a little taller though. It's funny that you can be obviously taller than everyone but not be considered "tall" by many people. Basically if you're 5'9 - 6ft you're often considered average, even if you're above average. Don't get considered "tall" until you hit 6ft 1in +.
@@laverdadbuscador Yeah you're taller than everyone because you're a significant margin above average, funny how that works.
@@konan8353 I'm significantly above average? What is the average height for an American male? I thought it was 5'8 or 5'9.
@@laverdadbuscador its 6 foot tall (182cm)
Well said my dear, your right on point 👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🧡
Make more videos like this sort its realy needed for every short guys n thank u 4 this video buddy.
Amazing video. Thank you.
Thank you so much man. Till the time I was making all these mistakes but not now.
You rock dude
Good tips. I will add that belts are absolutely essential whenever you tuck in your shirt.
Thanks for the great messages in this video.
you make really great videos
i'm 5'6" and really was insecure about my height , until i saw this video
Great tips and explanations. Thank you.
Great advice and good content
Very wise ideas bro. Nice editing too and precise wording
Glad you liked it!
Hey Brock, I love to layer but you already know how these NYC winters are 🥶
Gotta stay warm out there!
Wow I was really impressed when Brock was demonstrating the winter clothes! He says he's only 5'6" but he looks like a model!
I’m 5’7 1/2 but boots take me to a solid 5’9 best money I’ve ever spent!
What happens when you get to her home and take em off
@@kamikatze186 we are the same height when we are laying down in bed 😉
@@JamalLXIX military style Thursday boots
@@kamikatze186 It's not like 1.5 inches is a massively noticable boost.
@@larsliamvilhelmAnything helps. I am 5'11 in boots. If I dress well and wear a hat I can appear 6'0.
That’s what you call “True confidence” , thanks.
Ok. The thumbnail is 🔥 today. 😂
