While already owning a 999, I decided to add the 848 instead of 1098 and am happy with my decision. Its far better suited to the riding I do, which includes a ton of twisty mountain roads that the smaller bike is an absolute breeze to flick around in, while still having plenty of power for exit and straights. It also allows me to wring it out and really explore the power band, whereas the liter bikes are so immensely torquey that I rarely tap into the power unless I'm doing silly speeds on a long, straight stretch of road.
@@Rgh71fish This is a great perspective. The 1098 and 999 are both BEASTS that want to keep going faster. I was between 848 and 1098 and went with 1098. Would be a great combo….
@@Itsbylebih you can never go wrong adding more Ducs to your fleet. They all do different things very well, and each one is a total blast in its own way. The best part is they're small and relatively inexpensive second hand. You can fit a good handful of them into a single car garage without tying up too much money, and the enjoyment you get from such a variety of excellent Italian hardware is priceless.
@@Rgh71fish I mean everyone has complained about the costs of owning ducati but they just make me smile every damn time I open the storage unit… I have an 06 800 supersport and with 20k miles I daily drive her. My “baby” 848 for now lol. Fun to fully rip throttle on her. Cheers man, have a great weekend!!
@@Itsbylebih the costs can be brought down in a big way by getting in there and doing the maintenance at home. So many helpful videos on here. Another benefit to having more than one bike. While one is being worked on, there's still at least one more to ride. Enjoy your weekend and ride safe!
Those tyres are only good to role the bike out of the garage! But that's it. I would not ride on those for a minute. And I agree that no Superbike is a beginner bike. Especially no if its one from Bologna.
