Good evening! And many thanks for over 9,300 subscribers on the channel - I'm so happy to see that you're all enjoying the walking videos around the UK! And this evening, we're heading back up to the Highlands, as we take a stroll around one of Scotland's loveliest villages: Beauly! For a village of few more than 1,000 people, it's quite remarkable just how strong Beauly's history is, with links to Scottish royalty, the biggest clan in Inverness-shire and more. But one thing we didn't mention on our walk was that Beauly is also home to a world champion sports team! Back in 1898, Beauly Shinty Club (who play the traditional Scottish sport shinty) won a match against London Camanachd, a victory that gave them the title of Shinty 'Champions of the World'!
Enjoyed the Walk .....Loved your Close-ups and really good Footage of the Priory Church-. And it. Was a good time to film 🎥 as was empty of people... Thanks 👍✅ for a great walk with you...look forward to the next walk- And approaching 10:000 subscribers who love and look forward to your wonderful Videos...Much appreciated by us all..
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video - Beauly is a gorgeous village and indeed a lovely place to be on a quiet afternoon like this :) Funnily enough just as I arrived in the town, a large tour group was leaving the priory, so some good timing to see the ruins at their most atmospheric! Thank you again for watching as always - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video, and yes - we're so close to 10,000 subscribers, and I have a few surprises in store to celebrate should we get there :)
Bonjour à vous tous. HI, I am French from Normandy and love your country so much because I was worker on Ninian rig to Kishorn around 1977. Once a year I come to Dingwall, my dream finish my life here in Scotland.
An awesome video, thx. I have been in the highlands of Scotland twice in different years. Loved the history up there, as well as family origins. The chapel ruins was beautiful, interesting to have the frasers, mckenzies & lovats in one area 😊 🙋♀️ from downunder.
That' so kind of you to say! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video - the history of the Highlands really is an amazing one, it has all the windswept charm and rustic scenery of a fantasy novel at times, particularly when you uncover all the history of all those clans and spectacular medieval ruins like in Beauly :)

Absolutely! Mary, Queen of Scots was certainly right when she saw Beauly, the village's name doesn't lie :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!
You're welcome! And thank you so much for watching - Beauly is one of the loveliest villages I've visited in making these videos - and as you mention the history is absolutely enthralling :)
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video - Beauly is surprisingly unheard of for such a lovely village that's both historically fascinating and so close to a big city like Inverness! But if you ever get the chance to visit the area, the village is well worth a stroll-around :)
@@LetsWalkUK Actually my parents discovered Beauly back in the 70's - they went there in summer for a couple of weeks several years in a row. I'm ashamed that I never visited myself.
Wow! That sounds wonderful - the Highlands are a magnificent region, but indeed the area around Inverness, Beauly and the Firth really have a lot to show - and are certainly a lovely place to stay :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!

Things do get cold and very, very rainy in the Highlands in the winter - but in summer Beauly certainly live up to the 'beau lieu' its name is derived from :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video!
More like 14 miles from Inverness and is not on the edge of the Beauly Firth, It lies about a mile up the Beauly river from the Firth. Jeez, basic stuff, get it right.

Stayed at a farmstay here in 2010. Lovely part of Scotland. Had no idea Beauly was a commuter town.
