I’m a flooring fitter in Scotland with 50 years experience your work is truly beautiful your patience and calm personality is evident well done an absolute pleasure to watch your approach to your craft ❤
Im trying to imagine any contractor putting this level of work into flooring or woodworking in the states outside of high-end home construction. If I could get people like you to work on projects I've designed, i would be ecstatic.
@@Kryynism Cy and gold star inspections have enlightened me to the state of new construction in 2024. Million $$+ homes with basic issues and shortcuts? Par for the course.
This is my first video watching this after coming across one of your shorts and I got to say no carpenter in America will put this much effort into something like this. Absolutely phenomenal work.
i seen the videos 3 times already because of how satisfying it is to see the artist rebuilding his kitchen, hes no carpenter, hes a artist true and true. the attention to the smallest detail, all the decisions made in order for the most satisfaction from your work, the way he made the flooring grain match perfectly even with the access door, wish i could learn from him.
You can clearly tell that this this person loves his job. I can only imagine how thankful his clients are with the love and effort that he puts into each and every job he does. It's truly a work of art how caring he is with his craft. I wish that workers here in the US that build houses put in even a fraction of effort this master does. Thank you for these videos.❤
To be honest. That's the first thing any carpenter should be doing! Your material and set up is key to finish. It's like building a wall. The foundations must be right also. I'm a Carpenter from Dublin, Ireland🇮🇪 Hand tools are key 😉 Always!! Have a blessed day guys❤ Mr Shoyan ❤ love watching your work
Japenese people always make fantastic carpenters, cooks and anything else they tend to do. The most respectful people on this planet too. This is the type of guy you want doing all the joinery work in your home.
they learn to master ONE set of skills in work and become true masters of that skill set from iron working to cooking they give the best they have to the job they do
@@jackiebiskan4748Yeah I noticed they seem to choose one thing and stick with it, then they pretty much become a master at that type of work. Hard working and honest people too. Would be great to live over there.
I’m watching this from Norway. I saw many of your episodes today. I love how much care you put into all the details. Looking forward to see the next step in your renovation of the house you built yourself.
Another fine job ! I love the hardware kit for the access panel. The quality wood is incredible . I would be curious to know what is the cost of material for this floor. I guess the equivalent in Canada would be a premium pine grade floorboard. The only thing, this wood specie will dent easily no ? For a kitchen humm I don’t know. Ps I remove what I said last time about the strange design : the door frame being lower than the floor level. Now I understand the lower aera Kamachi modification that he did to match the door 👍
11:19 that was a cool access panel. You should make the access panel so that no large people can get inside. That way they will be dependent upon short thin people in order to repair anything.
Im a welder I do central heating power plants and big pipe systems that have to be perfect and I appreciate how much you care for your work amazing to watch 😊
Wow, thanks that UA-cam showed me your channel, this is really great work you do and hopefully, we learn a few things from you. Thank you for the work making the videos.
As a carpenter myself, that diagonal brace extendable template brought me such joy. Hello from British Columbia, Canada! Your work is inspiring and I hope to work as a carpenter in Japan one day. お疲れ様でした。
Shoyan san, I have watched all of your videos and your work is always perfect! It is hard to imagine that you can improve, but I'm sure that, when it's your own house, you find an extra level of perfection! Thank you for another great video.
Shoyan, it would be awesome to hear you talk about how you make your layout marks and what you're thinking about when doing it. You remind me of essential craftsman here in the pacific northwest of the united states.
Really amazing work you do , I'm a cabinet maker, so I know you have take your time in some places. Well done and thank you for the videos 📹 keep them coming. From Colin Bradford in the UK 🇬🇧.
Exciting to see that he even paid detail on the grain of all little parts. Japanese carpentry is a little different from European and even Siberian. I did experienced both 1st hand and now learning some new technics. It’s mostly small methods, but as always the minor things can change the outcome and at some points the needed effort at input 😉
I love the Japenese joinery …. Been stuck on your content since I found it. I’m a red seal carpenter from Canada and I plan on getting my gold seal to travel the world.. would love to work with you
I have to say that the saws cutting on the pull seems so much better than the English cut on the push. It seems much more accurate and also easier to work with. The same with the wooden planes mainly cutting on the pull (although it looks like they can be used both ways) and being wooden they seem so much lighter and easier to handle than the English cast metal planes.
OMG The floor is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! And I can't believe just HOW BEAUTIFULLY SEAMLESS you made the access panel look!! You Picked the BEST placement for the handle too... You are an AMAZING Carpenter!!!
Sir, you do such beautiful work. The people who live in the houses you work on are blessed. Thank you for sharing. That diagonal brace measuring tool is amazing.
Can you also do a video introducing your tools? I see many well used tools and some more modern tools and was wondering if they had any history of your 50+ years as a carpenter!
Looks great! I would very much like to lay floorboards of Hinoki Cyprus in our living room as well after watching you doing it in your home and so many other houses. Only problem is, that I have no clue If this wood is available in Germany... Keep up the great work and videos, always a joy to watch. Thank you!

This isn't construction. This is art.
Japanese saws and chisels are so sharp
The way the grain of the access door matched the flooring is very satisfying :)

Having been on high end projects, its way worse than you imagine.

@@theunknownleaf409 yes sir. Everyone gets the same garbage
I woul be shocked too find out that anyone who has worked on my house even owns a hand plane.
High end houses cut the must corners with stuff it's terrible. You would think paying millions you would get a perfect house LMAO!!!! Nope
that move you pulled at 6:05 planing down a piece the thickness of a hand saw blade is some of the most clever shit I have ever seen
It’s my favorite part of the installation I’m gonna start doing this
I love the look of Hinoki Cypress! Wish I could get it here in Australia!
The way that door fit into that hole was beautiful. *Chefs kiss*
Is there anything more beautiful than a wood floor? I want to sit there and just look at it for hours.
I can't stress this enough.... this is absolutely stunning work!!! i love it!!
Thank you very much for showing us your dedication and skills . Experience and an eye for quality and aesthetics. 🙋🏼♀️🇩🇰

Thank you Shoyan-San for showing us your work and providing voice-over in english. It's a joy to watch a master at work. Best regards from Sweden.
An absolute pleasure watching you work. The craftsmanship is outstanding as usual.
That floor is beautiful, and your workmanship shines through. I love the access door setup. Thank you for showing this.
An artisan at work. This kind of workmanship is rare today. Why?? Well nobody wants to pay for this level of experience or knowledge. ❤

Simply fantastic work. My dad did what you do so i respect the trade and truly respect you. 😊
Beautiful craftsmanship. It's hard to find people that take pride in their work.

It’s not even about love. He takes pride in his craft and it would be dishonorable for him to anything less than his best work
beautiful , thoughtful wood working.
Not just amazing skill but an ethos and work ethic lost in the west. Thank you
Отлично выполненная работа, Мастер супер золотые руки.👍🙋🤝🇺🇦
Very nice floor.
Is anybody nearly hooked by the phrase „match the color and grain“ as me? 😍
He thinks about every little detail.

No its not, it would cost you about 10x market price. The work is great, but the time and materials would make you broke.

I trust this guy more than some of my own family members...
Not a lot of furniture makers can do furniture as good as he's doing floor. Crazy
The MASTER at Work !
I envy the quality of lumber he has access to.
It's amazing to contrast both the effort and skill to here in the states. But also the quality of the wood itself.
I love seeing Mr. Shoyan work on his own house.
You can give your translator a raise 😂! Exceptional video of a master working for himself. Quickly, more 😊
