Those skins really are beautiful! The markings do remind me of a dolphin or porpoise... and some of the pattern colors remind me of penguins or other seabirds. Very, very cool. This is just a gorgeous animal overall.
While it doesn't have too much animation wise, I think the skins more than make up for it. Pretty cool that it can hold it's own against a mosasaurus, too!
It's funny, all of the Large aquatics can attack and battle the Mosasaurus except for the Tylosaurus, which does damage Mosa as a counterattack while Mosa has Tylo in its mouth but doesn't have an actual attack animation against Mosa.
Let me tell you I was eating lunch at work and listening to this and my head has never snapped up quicker in a BiS video than when you said the mosasaurus reach around. 😂
i originally wasn’t super excited for this one but something about seeing it through the underwater domes and seeing how gentle and whale like it is is really something beautiful
Edmontosaurus will always have my favorite patterning, but Shonisaurus is among the best Frontier has ever done. Easily my favorite animal in the pack.
The exit animation is kimsa the opposite of tylosaurus For tylo the middle one dives down and the other swims out on the left of the middle one For shoni the middle one swims up and kinda lufts IT-selskap out of the water and the second one swims out on the right of the middle one Now im wondering if it was a coincidence or not
Shame this Dhoni is based on the smaller species of shonisaurus 15m one. Instead of the one that rivals the blue whale in length which is far above 70ft even
I was hoping we'd get some new environmental/at ease animations like breaching, spy-hopping, examining the lagoon floor, swimming close to and eyeing the viewing gallery window, etc. Alas it was not meant to be.
You know the best thing JWE ever did was the Dr.Wu DLC in JWE1 with the mixed genetics 🧬 dinosaurs they need to do that again but better. Just set a team aside to start the work of mixing 2-3 species together of most of the species and just do it by size. Then do the iconic mixtures. I would love to see one the the lil chicken lookin guys mix with a rex type just get a kid sized chicken thing haha this would be my favourite add to JWE2

The species of dolphin you’re thinking of is the common dolphin or the dusky dolphin.
Yup, I agree on the dusky dolphin, I was originally thinking of Commerson's dolphin too, but it has more white than black I think.
I love how shoni has so much perfect inspiration, dolphins, whales, penguins and in the last skin even swordfish!
In the free update they added a new release animation to spino if you didn't know

It not hunting the smaller icthy is nice as we can put them in the same lagoon and not have to deal with constantly eaten icthys.
