Confession of a Japanese Archery Girl

It is practice day for students of Japanese archery or kyudo at the Budo University. Our Japanese student confesses that while she has mastered the release of the arrow (Hanare), she is making a mistake when changing from raising the bow (Uchiokoshi) to drawing the bow (Daisan) - both important parts of the eight stages of shooting in Kyudo, called Hassetsu.
If you go to Japan, make sure to visit a Kyudo dojo to watch the young people and if you are lucky, maybe a master or sensei, perform this wonderful display of an ancient martial art.
