Day in the Life of a Japanese Delivery Worker

- A day in the life working in Tokyo Japan as a Delivery Worker at Sagawa Express, one of the largest transportation companies in Japan. This is what a typical day working in Japan is like if you worked for a large shipping company as a Japanese delivery man or delivery women in Tokyo. Japan work life and Japan work culture can be seen throughout the video from morning until evening. Yasuho, who is 22 years old, recently started working in a Japanese company Sagawa and we follow her through her average working day in Tokyo Japan. These are her typical working hours in Japan. She loves working in Japan and for her Japanese company as a Japanese delivery worker. Japanese delivery women work the same as the delivery men in Japan and there doesn't seem to be much of difference in work responsibilities. In fact, this is a peek into Japan life and Tokyo life that is rare to see, but Yasuho has been kind enough to let us follow her for the day. You'll find that Japaense delivery workers in Tokyo do a lot of walking since businesses are quite close to each other so it doesn't make sense to drive around in a delivery truck all day when compared to other countries. I hope you enjoy this video about delivery workers in Japan, life in Toyo and how it might be like working for a Japanese company such as Sagawa Express. If you are interested in learning more about Japanese work culture, check out my other Japan Day in the Life videos.

She's having a good life.
Sleeping at 10, going to work in bicycle almost next to home. Nice work environment.
Hope she still has this kind of life.
As a current Amazon driver, this blows my mind how chill it is. Having her do do sales. They have us do 'EVERY SECOND COUNTS!!!!' That it literally blows my mind how much time they spend not delivering. Prolly why she seems so cheerful and I'm beyond isolated, stressed and depressed.
F***in adorable little van. At most you could only fill 1 Amazon tote in the van and on average I've got 14 plus 16-30 oversized packages that don't fit in totes.
America sucks
Brother I feel you.
Lmfao~~~
Come to China or Hong Kong you will regret of what you said.
America don’t suck. Amazon is the issue! Get a job at UPS or FedEx, 1/2 the work and 3x the pay.
I think that does explain a huge difference, there is a variation in her tasks throughout the day, she's not doing just one thing. She's picking packages up and delivering them, talking to people, making sales, and all in a small area so she gets to know her regular customers. Take that offering that store the Pallet. Want to bet they didn't tell her to go speak to every client but made sure she knew about the pallet and trusted her to know which of her regulars would get the most from that service and thus pay for it? That does make it more rewarding, don't misunderstand there are issues with Japan and work, for example an 11 hour shift is still terrible but yeah still better than Amazon

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. Thank you very much for your time.
Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them).
Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy.
Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI).
Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad).
Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures.
Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement.
It is they whose works shall come to nought both in this world and in the life to come; and they shall have none to succour them.
(19-22 / Translated by Muhammad Asad)..
God said : Say, “We believe in Allah, and in what was revealed to us, and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and in what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We do not differentiate between any of them. And to Him, we surrender.”
(2:136 / Translated by Community)

Such an impressive young woman. I hope her life has been fulfilling since you filmed this episode
Japanese delivery service : "put every item safely and gently
Amazon : "here's your package *YEET*"
Lmao
Sad that it is true. Occasionally items I bought from amazon arrive broken or empty...or sometimes delivered to the wrong place.
Have you seen Ups they just chuck that shit
not in japan tho
USPS: you ordered something?
"so, what's your job anyway?"
Paolo : "watching people's job"
He shows to the world what Japan is and how Japanese performs. We can learn from it if we want.
I would love to have that job.
lol
Day in life of a job watcher
She ate a cookie and water for breakfast tho! I would drop dead eating that before going into work 😬💀
The work discipline, systematic routine and initiative for sales and finally the totally safe environment of just leaving things in the open. I would also like these kinds of job opportunities as well. I do wonder how this is like during heavy rain or winter? Probably more challenging but still fulfilling I guess.
Thank you. I found this extremely interesting and reminded me of my time living near Tokyo in Kawagoe.
that's a hardworking woman. Meanwhile my FedEx delivery guy high af throwing my package into my frontyard
Welcome To Japan
Mine Takes the package keeps it for a month then returns it to me and won't refund the cost.
lol
america is better man trust
No different to Amazon Prime Delivery Dude thrown stuff at the front poch.
Japanese Delivery Worker: handles packages with extreme care and places them softly...
My Delivery Worker: performs takedowns, kicks, throws, and other combat techniques on my packages...
Boom Touchdown!
Lol.
In our country, we write "Don't press. It can break easily " like this. But you know! Even we stick, sometimes we find out our property poorly. It's normal. :-)
same here in indonesia, Amazing thing is Yasuo is working on the Sales too when our Courier is just delivering our stuff and still messed up
Where are you from? In Brazil, we suffer from the same problem!
My delivery worker cracked my portable desk 😭
God bless her! She's cute and love the way she is doing her duty. Wish all the best in her entire life! Thanx for sharing this experience!
She doesn't believe in God, same as most Japanese. Japan is an atheist country, and that's just great and relaxing. No religious war or religious craps in Japan.
Well done. Thank you. Visited Japan once and was so impressed with the discipline and culture.
So I saw this video last year and was like omg that’s the job I’d love to have in my current circumstance, and long behold this summer I got s tempt job as a helper for big deliveries then few feels later I started delivering just like this (except it’s more like food containers) and I’m just so thankful it came true and I kept Yasuho and this vid in mind the whole time I was starting out as this was my first proper good paying job. Just like her I’m now 5 going on 6 months into this delivery job and loving it here. I even adopted the practice of cleaning my van and equipment cleaned and organized as best I can. Go for your dreams guys! 💯 This vid even motivated me to be more open and talkative to customers and coworkers as I was mostly a quieter person before then tbh. I’ve met many great people since then!
Weeks nor feels* xD

Well done. 👏

You can see her personality is much better after arrived and having breakfast. Lol. Morning struggling is real
3:40 notice that smile when given free snacks. Somethings are universal because who doesn't love a coworker that gives you free snacks in the morning?
It's because she has already eaten and her cortisol levels decreased ,
breakfast? you mean the cookie?
of course. this is good experience for everyone not just you or me
@@nicksohacki7114 how much do you eat in the morning?
Well, she looks so happy and that makes me happy, too. Simple daily life but happy.
This channel is very interesting. I can study Japanese culture and English at the same time...Thank you for good contents.
I’m just in awe of her work ethic, habits, safety checks, lunch with the bosses and her overall attitude. Such a simple job and yet she has an upbeat attitude and that’s refreshing. She takes pride in her work too. Great vid 👍🏼
First world ways
Well helps that she’s only delivery a couple of packages a day(not saying it’s a bad thing) compare to a UPS driver that can have hundreds of deliveries a day.
it’s crazy how people make assumptions. I mean sure she’s working hard but remember that she’s in front of a camera. Nobody really knows how her work habits go day to day when she’s not being watched lol
@@dMakhi You expect people to think critically nowadays? Lol
I visit Japan often and from what I've seen it's the Japanese way of life. Their work ethic is second to none.
Meenwhile in the west : "A delivery was attempted" msg pop up on the phone while you are at home. Because they did not bother walking 3 flights of stairs.
As an Indian I couldn't agree more. Some jerk even returned my order because he didn't feel like coming out of his office on a cloudy day.
Depends where you live in the west.
As an ex delivery driver, we are not paid or obligated to deliver to the apartment door. By law we have to deliver to the entrance of the building/porch outside of the house. Everything else is a favor done to the client IF there is enough time to wait, which in most cases it is not.
@@damdibidum What about door to door delivery promises made by companies?
Contact your shipping companies and make sure the have ACCURATE access codes to your building. Trust me, we want to get rid of your stuff so we don’t have to comeback the next day.
Locked apartments are such time wasters. You’re not the only delivery. We have 170 other customers waiting to get their stuff too. Help us out a bit!
And don’t get me started apartment buildings where the doors don’t have numbers or letters smh. If your door doesn’t have a number we’re not gonna go door to door looking for you. If your lucky pick it up at an access point otherwise it gets returned it to shipper.
It was pretty cool, thank you 🙂
Great video! They make our life 🫶
Everyone commenting on her looks but it’s not _just_ her looks, it’s more her *attitude* which you’re finding attractive.
That positive energy she’s projecting.
Its usually an act that they have to put on its sad "tatemae"
@@KhariShootYourShot92 Yeh absolutely, but all she needs to do is the same with me and it’s all bless. 😂
No, its the looks.
Wow, thank you for letting me know what I find attractive in a woman.. I really needed your wisdom
man they really just put their packages in front of their door and someone comes and picks it up... and noone steals it. what a country
true, in mine the moment something is out of your sight, no matter big or small form more than a minute, its probably gone, and it doesnt even have to be valuable, little metal pipe was stolen from me for less than a minute, it fell from terrace and by the time i went down it was gone literally a minute tops
we do that here too. I'm a delivery worker, I work a pretty safe suburb

You’ll have a lot of fun as long as you’re skinny, white and speak japanese fluently. Oh and don’t go out ay night if you want to maintain your ideal image of Japan.
Japan will blow your mind since your first step out of the airplane I swear. There is nothing quite like it in this world
@@bsdpowa better than other rich counterparts. So it'll still be much better than going out in Philippines getting mugged just like what happened to me for the past 4 years due to having an "iphone" which is only iphone 6
Japan: *nine million checks and washing car before anything*
America: it has four wheels? you have a license? aight bet good luck.
a wheel falls off the truck, "eh keep going we'll fix it next week"
yeah but don't know what they were checking, no oil check, no tyre pressure check, no water, no brake liquid and those are the basic before running a car everyday. or maybe there's a guy who does all that everyday at night.
@@LORDVADER203 Agree. I think there are multiple levels of check. And oil/brake is not as likely to fail as appearance when you park outside for a short time.
At Chile is the same, if the car is in the parking lot, just open the door and go.
Tá reclamando? Aqui no Brasil às vezes o produto nem chega e fica por isso mesmo
Love from the U.K awesome and informative channel 👌🏻
It's tiring to walk all the time, but it's also very healthy. This beautiful lady, this job is very meaningful. In a country where everyone is equal, doing any job is a joy.
It looks like the whole Japan is from another planet
They should be as they produce majority of the worlds goods any mess up expect a big fine from high power countries
please guys support me

yeah they surely do, they are very strict in rules, and clean
@@marcoswang5034 Its not really just the rules its purely embedded in their culture, generally Japanese cannot even throw litter on the street its just mentally impossible for them.
another planet ? sorry , we are using vpn ,
Meanwhile FedEx will literally punt my pakcages from the street onto my doorstep
Pretty damn tucking impressive
I used to work for FedEx
It's even worse at the warehouses
Best part is nobody gives a fuck😂
They deliver yours? Mine get held hostage at a facility until I call the sender to investigate
LOL I assure you, they treated the stuff in your packages roughly right from the factory. If it survives the crazy tossing right from the start in China, the FedEx stuff is practically handing it to you on a silver platter.
Doorstep? I'd be lucky and my package end up in my neighbor's backyard, lol!
Love the cleanliness and discipline 😊
Wow, she's so beautiful and kind !

Japanese: “Treat with care”
Americans: “I don’t get paid enough for this.”
America used to be like this but we realized companies don’t care about you why should u care about it?
Minimal wage = Minimal effort
yes, well when a company pays well and actually cares about their employees AND has a decent business model, everyone involved tends to remain fairly happy...but you basically summed up my comment - currently posted in the main thread, above.😐
Owww pilipino too...
The kingdom of GOD is near, we need to repent and believe in Jesus Christ, so that our sins can be forgiven, and we can have eternal life.
If we don't believe in Jesus, we will die in our own sins.
Lying, Stealing, murders, evil heart, revellings, hatred, emulations, arrogant, strife, Envyings, commit adultery, seditions, bad words, porn, didn't honour father and mother, worship idol, homosexual, fortune teller, black magic, blasphemed GOD, claiming self to be GOD, calling a man as GOD, worship things made of gold, silver, wood, stone or other materials, worship animal as GOD, against GOD, did not believe in JESUS, take the name of GOD/JESUS in vain and other evils things, these all are sins. If we did 1 of these things before, it makes us sinner. If we continue to do these things or sinning, we will die in our own sins.We need to repent through Jesus, to make our relationship with GOD good again, because There will be a judgement day 1 day,The people who believe in Jesus Christ and follow his commands will enter the kingdom of GOD, but the people who don't believe in Jesus and done evil/bad things/sinners will enter Hell.
Only Jesus can give you joy, real peace, only Jesus can forgive your sins, only Jesus can lead you to be a righteous man.
No other name except JESUS can save your soul and lead you to heaven.
This is about your eternal life and eternal death, so believe in Jesus and repent(Confess to GOD that you're sinner, stop sinning and follow Jesus teaching), to save your own soul and life.
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit/Ghost will guide you on how to become a righteous man, live and work according to GOD's will.
Lord Jesus said:
luke6: 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
You can read BIBLE online by searching it on google, you can start read from the book of JOHN. You can learn Jesus teaching from there.
If you have any stress, problem in your life, you can pray to Jesus and ask for his help, Jesus will listen to your prayer.
GOD is our Father, He is the ONE who made us and everything in this world. It's time for us to return to Him and acknowledge Him as our Father through Jesus Christ. Wake up people, return to your only ONE Almighty GOD and Father.
Amazing how they take every safety measure in works, very discipline, veri impressive
One thing that always impresses me about Tokyo is just how unbelievably clean everything is! In America, you can't go one block without spotting some garbage on the ground.
I'm here to watch how japan does deliveries

I love her energy, she is so pretty, hard-working and polite! Keep it up girl, hope you get a big promotion soon
That's just in the video
Lol i thought she's rina ishihara after seeing the thumbnail
She never works at Sagawa
From what I know, salaries are quite depressed in Japan and promotions only come after a fixed number of years - doing well and having a good attitude is considered a norm in Japan and you won't really be rewarded other than maybe a 5% larger bonus or some small amount like that
