Who doesn’t want a GT4 RS!
I upgraded to the GT4 Clubsport RS for this season from a 718 MR. The increases in low end torque and top end power are substantial. Thie top speed on the back straight at Sebring is about 6 MPH higher than the old car. I had to move some of my break points back to compensate.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the GT4 RS
Great clip..
Love my 4 RS regardless of where I am. Country road, track, around town..whatever. Always puts a big smile on my face.
LOL THE PLATE. Legend 🤣
The GT3YAWN license plate is just "chef's kiss"
Thanks for such a great video! I learned a lot and Mike is such a great guest.
Wow! That was awesome! I learned a ton, thanks 👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
I've been on the track in a GT4RS at the same time as two GT4RS Clubsports and they were passing me like I was in a Miata. The Clubsports were consistently running 1:28's and 1:29's at Barber (around 6 seconds faster). DEFINITELY NOT THE SAME CAR!!!!!!!
you should've asked them to swap cars, for science 👨🔬
It's all in the tire and chassis / suspension setup. Could be very close to the same car, sans cage and a few extra lbs.
Hmm, great idea @tloder…
This guy makes me want to sell all my cars and just get one of these🤣😂
Great video , I'd like to see a follow up of like 20-30 minutes of inside the cockpit , more details on all the setting and the dash setup , etc...
BEST VIDEO on UA-cam. Thank you so much for the post.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!
What a great video. This goes to the heart of why their road cars are so good, especially the RS. Race proven results applied to the street
Awesome video!
Did the Spyder RS come up in the talk? Just wondering his thoughts on it?
SRS isn’t for track use. I bet he has no interest in it.
How does a GT4 RS differ to the GT4? Would be grateful to know.
Awesome GT4 RS' presented by an awesome shop. What's not to like? Great video...thanks so much!
Our pleasure!
Really do notice the camber when it's on the road
Mike the shop looks beautiful!
seems to me the biggest performance difference besides some aero and suspension are the dual brakes (front/rear) with adjustable bias.
I wanna know more about the DSC controllers effects on the Porsche oem pasm dampers for a 981.
The DSC controller utilizes the full potential of the OEM electronic dampers. DSC controls each damper individually from 1 to 100% output to driving load in real time; similar to how an ECU controls fuel injectors to throttle load to optimize performance. There are great video on the DSC UA-cam channel if you want to check them out- www.youtube.com/@DSCSport
I have it on my 4RS and it's a game changer. Doesn't even feel like the same chassis. The best way I can describe it is...cold tires in the winter you feel everything. Warm tires in the summer you don't feel that initial impact. I was driving around in the winter with DSC and it felt like I was driving around on warm tires in the summer. It takes the EDGE off the chassis and you have much more feel for what the road is doing underneath you.
Do you Autocross your car?
@@michaellegere4823 no but I do have autocross experience. Front engine FWD car and Mid engine RWD car. Both manuals. Fun times. I would imagine this car would do awesome on the autocross due to it's gearing and smaller size. Do you autocross a cayman?
981 Boxster GTS
**Probably easier to just tell people "This is the 991.1/.2 GT3 Cup front upright" and I'm not sure how a spacer in the mounting of the lower control arms changes ride height (it doesn't)
It does. Lengthening the lower arm by adding camber shims changes the ride height. Think of the relationship of the lower arm and the strut as a "V shape". By lengthening the lower arm it pushes the bottom of the strut outward to change the angle of the strut. Essentially this is lowering the strut tower, thus changes the ride height. Of course the strut itself on this car has adjustable spring collar for ride height but I was only referring to adding shims alone.
@@tomchan1258 he was pointing at the spacer for the lower control arm. The mis alignment spacer in double shear at the bottom of the upright. Not the shims between the inner pivot point and the control arm. Tom? If you are anywhere near Sears Point this weekend? I'll show you how shimming the lower control arm upwards of 5mm+ doesn't effect ride height (on a RSCS). If you cant Make Sears? How about Barber in Georgia the weekend after?
Are the top mounts the same on both cars?
Both car have monoball top mounts. The 4RS CS has KW camber-adjustable top mounts that are pre-assembled on the KW coilovers.
🤤 sabber, sabber, …..
Tom rocks!
To drive a Porsche you have to have a driver and engineer brain. Then you can relax and enjoy the machine.
Thx for a very educational video. Just got my car out of winter storage @viola_gt4rs and this was just what I needed to fall in love with it again. This and the blast I had getting rid of the flat spots😅
Great to hear!
