Not everything has to be about winning! We just have to remind ourselves that when doing a list review. You never know may surprise yourself, but we just hope you have a fun day!
Nice video, and will be joining in March 😊 Just as a heads up, I'm pretty sure it is still highest dice roll and highest fight regardless of who it is, rather than roll separately depending on FV. Happy to be corrected, but pg 52 of rulebook has specific rules for multiple models in combat, which states "When comparing the results on the dice to work out which side has won the duel roll, only count the highest individual dice result and the highest fight value from each side", which to me is as it was last edition as it doesnt specify that only using its corresponding FV, just the highest FV and the highest individual dice roll which supercedes the rule on pg 104 for supporting, as yes it is using its own FV when supporting but in working out who won, you only use the highest FV (including the supports individual contribution).
You make a good point, because it's not come up for us and I haven't given it much thought since I read the rules. I think it needs an F&Q to be fair. To make it 100% clear as rules as written, I don't think it is 100%. We know from page 104 that spear supports are not considered part of a combat, because it says you have to not be engaged in a combat to spear support! Page 52 starts off referring to models in the combat. Does a spear support become part of the combat when it elects to add a dice? Not sure as it does not define this. Why state specifically that a spear support rolls using it's own FV, if in the case of a draw, it can just use the highest FV in the combat anyway, especially considering feint etc is not a thing any more. That information is entirely redundant 66% of the time and only relevant where the spear support has higher FV than the front rank. I think now it's been brought up. I sway towards what you have said is correct. As I have not seen anyone cooking up a storm over this. So perhaps it is just me reading one bit of info before the other and not questioning it. I will reach out to some other TOs before the event to get clarification as to how others are playing it. Thanks for bringing it up
@@Middle-earth_In_Mercia_Podcast makes a lot of sense, and excited for march especially the darkness element reducing shooting! My only thoughts about why it's included is if your spear support has a higher FV than the model in combat, just to confirm that they are able to contribute their own to the fight, not just an extra dice... But who knows GW gonna GW 😅
Grima is cracked now. He can move through enemy models so can no longer be surrounded to prevent him moving. He cannot be charged unless Saruman dies or he himself charges. Magic can be used against him. In things like Destroy the Supplies he can essentially destroy a supply with no realistic way of preventing it. However, be then is exposed as an enemy and can be fought as normal.
I don't you you guys have got FV right, GW have tried to make things as simple as possible and that's an extremely unnecessary and over complex change to rules. I don't think they've chnage them from last edition
Can’t wait for my breaking of the fellowship to come low down on the day! Just wanted to run a fun list! I appreciate the sentiment was shared
